Congratulations dude!! The software is so hard for this stuff - excited to see the next video about it :)
Hi Joe! Good luck on your space shot
Thank you for inspiring us!
That means a lot coming from BPS space
Wow! Great job!
Your greatest accomplishment was sticking with your quest until you succeeded. This will serve you well in your future.
Congratulations! Please consider making the plans and the software open source! That way, you open up the possibility of having a community of like-minded developers replicate your success, and refine the software and hardware to improve the rocket's capabilities.
Magnificent work. :)
I cannot get over the fact this is possible. The sheer weight of the electronics to do this 20 years ago would have made the form-factor infeasible; it's *wild* to me to see this pulled off with a small custom circuit and an accelerometer package the size of a kid's fingernail. And the syringe hack is brilliant!
Congratulations! This is a seriously impressive achievement! Years ago I looked into the possibility of doing this but quickly realized it was far beyond my meager talents, and not even possible with the tech that was available at the time.
That was amazing.
Hope more people get to see this but no matter what you should be proud of this man, that is seriously impressive.
Congrats! Obviously the Landing was rougher than intended, but that highlights the praiseworthy resiliency of your landing legs. A lot of the attempts by Joe Barnard and others would have been successful if they were using your leg design. You might have to change it later to reduce weight and make it easier to manufacture, but delivered your first true landing so it definitely delivered what it needed to do. Congrats again, and best wishes to the next iterations.
Congratulations! 🎉🎉🎉 Great achievement!
Thanks for sharing your inspirational journey. Very much appreciate your discussion on the previous RUDs and even the areas for improvement for successful landings.
Keep up the great work and continue sharing with the community.
Peace!
You landed it TWO TIMES! 😱😁😝🤪🤣👍👍🇺🇸
Congrats! I’ve personally been trying to get a custom built drone (pcb and software) up in the air for a few years, as an on and off side project. The fact that you were able to achieve a stable landing for a model rocket is super impressive!
Awesome dude, keep on kicking ass bro you'll make it big with your ideas, research and development.
Well done! Engineering takes hard work and commitment. However, the results are why we do it.
Very cool! Look forward to the video about the software 😊
One thing you could also do is add a laser distance sensor. These may add more weight but would greatly increase the accuracy. Great job, I know this is no easy task to complete.
Beautifully done!!! Congratulations.
You have a great future ahead of you!
what an amazing project dude!
Well Done! Bravo! ...from an old Estes model rocketeer 1969 - '74!
Congratulations!
Thank you!
Congratulations, this is an incredible accomplishment!
Outstanding work! Everything looks great: hardware, electronic card, software.
It's nice to see how you learned from your failures, it's the greatest source of learning.
Congratulations. Amazing work.
Awesome stuff, well done!
these results are amazing man, having everything in sync and working in unison to create such an impressive result is just amazing, keep up the great work
Congratulations! Excellent Work!!!
This is awesome! Congratulations 👏🏽👏🏽
Dude, you are brilliant, dedicated and amazing. YOU are the future!!!
Well done! I love the leg design, great way to tackle the problem!
Thanks so much!!! You were a huge inspiration!
Impressive work. Keep it up!
Well done. Can't wait for the follow up S/W video.
Great accomplishment! Congratulations!
Amazing work and excellent video. Can't wait to see how this project evolves. You got a new sub.
Awesome work and neat FC!
Absolutely amazing, congratulations!
Congratulations! Amazing effort!
well done young man there is hope for the future
Nice Job!!
Well done, a fantastic achievement. Interested to see launches reaching higher altitudes.
Bravo for this impressive engineering work!
I love model rockets and I'm amazed you did this well. Congratulations!!! Keep it up and you could be the next billionaire space guy...
So impressive! A lot of hard work and determination! Great job!
Great work -- Keep Going -- Aim for the Stars!
🤩🙌👍
badass man! I love seeing these kind of rocket videos
Amazing! Congratulations!
Congratulations bro
Awesome work!
Great work. Congratulations.
GOOD FOR YOU! Congratulations!
WOW! Congratulations, so cool!
Simple to see but MAN you are awesome. I cant even imagine the effort you put into it to make it happen.
Brilliant! Great work!
That's amazing! Just like spaceX!!
Awesome accomplishment, your endurance & persistence will take you far. With much respect to your methods, -
Wow! This is a big deal. You, Sir, are spacebound.
GREAT WORK !!
Your awesome! Keep it up!
Great job and use of data! Subbed for the software video. Curious about your realtime loop.
Congrats
Congratulations! You have accomplished a feat that many nations cannot lay claim to.
Well done!
Seriously impressive dedication to making things work.
Awesome job.
Great landing 🚀
Very cool. Keep it up!
Sent here from Slashdot - get ready for some views! Very cool.
Good job!
Great Job!
Nice work!!!!!
Bloody amazing.
Congratulations
This is awesome, and I love your explanations. Keep at it, and start looking at liquid fuel.
Congratulations this is an impressive feat
You, good Sir, are fucking AWESOME!
Landed it vertical SpaceX style with just a baro and accelerometers? That's impressive. Thought you absolutely have to go either radalt or laser rangefinder.
It's surprising how accurate the data from these sensors is, albeit only for a few seconds.
@@jrdpropulsion5021 Surprising is an understatement.
Excellent!
Bravo! Très ingénieux ! ❤
Congrats.
Wow....well done....!!!!!
Awesome!
Amazing!
Good job! Great to see control software in action! I wonder if a cheap and light lidar module couldn't help with distance to ground.
Yeah I think it could be added to the algorithm to make the position estimate better.
Very cool bro..
Now for solid rocket landing cores built around a liquid fuel main stage 😁. Solid rocket lander is such a awesome challenge, love the result!
Nice!
Nice!!!
thanks so much! You inspired me!!!
Really cool
CONGRATS! -the smart internet
Very well done ! and a insane achievement to get it working💯
... would love to try this myself one day 👀😅
You can do it!
@@jrdpropulsion5021 thank you very much ... i hope so yeah but first i need the basics (time and budget) 😅 so gonna take a few years till that :))
btw do you by chance have a discord or so for knowledge exchange ?

@@jrdpropulsion5021 Ohh excuse me must have overlooked that... found it now, thank you mate !
I've never had an Estes motor explode! You might want to check where you got it from and make sure it either was not an imposter or that it was not mishandled some way (like leaving it exposed to outside humidity, or it being very old or something like that. Alternatively, maybe Estes is going to hell like everything else these days!
Yeah so the Estes E12 is known to cato. I think it holds a record for that…
Watch out, Elon has some competition. Well done.
Nice.
Yes, please tell us more about your software.
Hi Sir, I really interested with mechanical item
I had a background in mechanical engineering (CAD/prototyping)
But, I have no clue about coding
Do you have any suggestion for me what should I learn to build rocket like yours? I saw several videos posted online like yours, BPS Space, Project Horizon, and so on
Previously I ever built Autonomous Plane using iNAV
but there is no coding involved
I am wondering how did you get the actual data such as gyro, altitude and process it through feed back for the engine (control system)
Great job! You should get an engineer degree only for this. 😄
Wow!
Wow, Arduino code to control this ! On one side, it's still C++ and can remain efficient. On another side, it's Arduino environment ...
Anyway, congrats, nice achievement !
Which components keep the rocket Upright continuously when and during the time when it getting closer and closer to the ground?
the video explained that there is a TVC gimbal that holds both motors
Man this is so cool! I also designed a TVC rocket system for a course project last semester and the main objective was just getting the gimbal to correct its position when moving using it using an apparatus (my hand lol). However this goes above and beyond not just launching one but also landing it upright, this is just an amazing project overall! Also if you don't mind me asking what software did you use for designing the flight computer? Currently teaching my self how to use Altium designer so I can get my own custom PCB for the flight control, but any tips would be appreciated.
I use easyEDA. In my opinion, for smaller, relatively less complex boards, it really doesn’t matter what tool you use.
cool!
👏👏👏
