  • Dyson has unveiled its latest air purification innovation, the Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde, designed to ensure clean and safe indoor air in large homes and spacious rooms. This purifier operates quietly, maintaining noise levels under 56 decibels, making it ideal for use at home.
The standout feature of this purifier is its Cone Aerodynamics system, which combines two airflow streams into a concentrated jet of purified air, projecting it up to 10 meters and effectively covering every corner of your living space.
In terms of filtration, the Big+Quiet Formaldehyde employs a three-step filtration system sealed to HEPA H-13 standards, removing particles as small as 0.1 microns, including dust, allergens, pollen, and pet hair. What sets it apart is Dyson's claim that the filter will last an impressive five years, five times longer than previous systems.
The purifier also incorporates a new CO2 sensor that regulates ventilation, ensuring the cleanest air possible. It uses a K-Carbon filter to capture three times more Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) than previous filters, eliminating odors from both indoor and outdoor sources.
The most remarkable feature is the Nickel and Dark Blue version, which includes Dyson's Selective Catalytic Oxidation (SCO) filter designed to break down formaldehyde molecules into harmless water and CO2 without requiring replacement. This is a significant development as formaldehyde is found in various household products and can be challenging to eliminate.
The Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde is priced at $1599 in Australia and $1100 in the US for the advanced BP04 version with CO2 detection. The alternative BP03 version, which lacks CO2 detection, is $100 cheaper.
While the performance of this air purifier is impressive, its physical size may not suit everyone's taste. It has a conspicuous and high-tech design that may not align with minimalist aesthetics.
Dyson's Silent Giant, the Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde, is a breakthrough in air purification technology, delivering clean and safe indoor air for larger spaces. It combines advanced filtration, a silent operation, and innovative features to ensure that you breathe the cleanest air possible.

    Does it remove mold spores?

From the air, yes, but not from the source. If you care about mold, you should get a dehumidifier, apart from air filters, Dyson only offers humidifiers which would make the problem worse

What is difference between BP 03 and BP 04 other than color and price?

Looks like the BP03 has a smaller carbon filter and no CO2 sensor.

Wait the filter lasts five years?

The filter in the Dyson Air Purifier BP04 Big + Quiet is recommended to be replaced every 5 years for the HEPA filter and every 2 years for the K-Carbon filter, or when notified by the MyDyson™ app. It will also depend on how often you use it.

Only rich and pretentious people would buy this. People save your money and buy a purifier thatis just as good if not better for under $200. Pretty sure this thing would lose against a Core 400S from Levoit

Bruvva man do your research before you tank it, it’s an investment for long term use.

I have it, and still I would say that it’s overpriced and I got it on Black Friday at 700EUR (about 650usd?), instead of the 1000eur originally asked. It’s better than most of the 200-300dollar purifiers but still crazy expensive for what it is. Yes it’s a long term investment but you sadly don’t know how long it’ll last with only 2 years of warranty.
Still a nice looking purifier, that is efficient, but 700EUR for that is too much in my opinion, should be 500eur max and with app sync at this price
