This is what it LOOKS like if Day After Tomorrow is real

I am an old woman, but I was thrilled when my grandkids had the whole past week off due to cold and blizzards! They will probably have part of next week off too as the weather will warm up and rain on top of that packed snow which will make an ice lake skating rink!
We've had one "snow day" from school as the temps were -14 without wind-chill. I think we get 3 snow days before they have to start making them up in the spring
As a child in the sixties and seventies i remember snow on a regular basis but not the brutal cold we have now in the Chicago area
it reminds me of the movie "the day after tomorrow"
Yeah the jet streams are breaking down just like the movie
I literally thought of that when I saw the frozen lighthouse footage! Never thought I'd see anything like that in real life! 😱🥶
Thats why the rich have been building bunkers looks like something is brewing. i wonder why Zuckerberg is building a haven in Hawaii
“Wind chills in the single digits”
That’s pretty normal for winter here in Maine. The cold has still been uncomfortable though.
Metro detroit hit a low of -19, not sure why these guys said single digits lol.
@@abrb1223 that makes a lot more sense. Stay safe out there.
Actually 2 wknds ago Fri-Sun was -40 skin temp, and up to +40 in 5 days, and from Wed til now, rain has washed all the snow away smh
0:12 frozen lighthouse drone footage is outstanding! 👍
In Australia we’re on fire had 41 deg celsius last week (105 Fahrenheit). Luckily we have air con. Keep warm guys and stay safe.
We don't.
Stay cool there best as everyone can, mates. Weather is weather, wherever it is. It affects us as it will. We’ve no control. Cheers from the Deep South where many are still digging out/through, though the single digits don’t compare to those getting the below zero temps.
Hahaha😂
Yeah it’s summer there so….
We call this.... winter. Not really anything new but here they are😂
A few years back, when I was doing west coast long haul work, I saw a car broken down in the side of the interstate. It snowed and there was a small avalanche. I came and went past the car for 2 months buried on the side of the road. you could see the shape of the drivers side. One day, I came by and the road was closed because the ice and snow had fallen across the road. when they opened the road, the car had been damaged, but it was still there. I got different deliveries, so I don't know how long it was before the ice and snow released the now damaged car, but I really felt bad for the owner.
0:36 - She's wearing a jacket in sub-zero temperatures. That's literally insane.
It's like The Day After Tomorrow with that lighthouse.
Wow, what a surprise. It's winter again!! Seems to happen every year about this time!!
Why is everyone surprised when it gets really cold…..Chicago gal here….I’m expecting it!
It's freaky. :-)
But... But... Global warming 😢
Yep, and we already know that this summer will break more records
We should not be able to anticipate record-breaking heat waves during the upcoming summer in January
It’s not the weather that has people concerned, it’s the extremes that used to be rare events, but now happen every year
It was not that cold today in central PA. I don't know about Philly. I think that 23 degrees is normal winter temp. The wind was not that either, unlike last week Saturday when it was blowing me away and I weight 180 lbs.
Cold blast just left us in Missoula Montana. Brutal cold🥶🥶🥶.
Stay warm & safe folks
Global warming
@@coryburns9161 - Record temperatures are being set in places like South Africa and Australia in the Southern Hemisphere during their summer, same as happened in the Northern Hemisphere during OUR summer - so yes, Global Warming is happening.
@@WarHawk- get educated
@@coryburns9161yep earth is not able to find regulation. The difference in seasons & global warming is different. The destruction of our planet causing global warming vs climate of seasons is causing crazy weather
@@WarHawk-you bumped your head. They use phrases like "record heat", when their instruments show a 1/100th of a degree over their RECORDED highs(only a few decades), and their instruments have an equal tolerance for variances. The earth has longer trends than the four seasons we EXPECT. Last summer was mild.
I live in Niagara Falls.. about a 20 minute drive from Buffalo. We got maybe a quarter of the snow that Buffalo did. Those 20 miles make a huge difference.
Dont knownmuch about your area, but is there a lot of ice layers when the weather suddenly freezes with a lot of wind????
I can relate, I'm here in nyc and we barely got snow. But go an hour north they got like 7 inches compared to our 1.
Shoveling an entire stadium is crazy...maybe get an enclosed stadium or retractable roof
That frozen lighthouse looks Lovecraftian !!
It's funny how we act like this is brand new every year but it happens every year
And it is a shock every year because every year I expecting the warming part of global warming
Breaking news. ..There's a 99.9 % chance of darkness tonight followed by a sunrise. Film at eleven.
Climate change 🤣
😂😂😂@@RobertBee-fs8hv
You dont pay attention to locations do you?
That is incredible. Extreme weather is so interesting. Three weeks ago where I live in Canada, daffodils were in full bloom and black berry bushes had some new leaves on them then suddenly record low temps and now back to rain.
God is more interesting.
It's January. It's cold. I bet you will be surprised when it is hot in July.
Go figure , winter lol
@@Bob-bb3ur First of all, these are record temperatures in many places, for prolonged periods. Try again. What's with you trolls?
@@Bob-bb3ur Now people like you, that would be fair. Try doing so against people and things that are very powerful, like me and others. Surely, you don't have the guts.
That first shot of the Michigan lighthouse looked like a scene out of the movie, 'The Day After Tomorrow.'
Yet they are filing criminal charges against preachers in Ohio and North Carolina for giving shelter and food to homeless people.
Republicans are against helping people unless there's a profit for corporations. If helping someone is taking away from a business making a buck, the business always wins.
😮wwwwwwwhat do you mean?
Proof?
I know that's cold. But wind chills in the single digits? We just got through our wind chills in the. -40'S! 😂
It is Fahrenheit, in Celsius it is like -25 °C.
Fall, winter, spring, summer. Some seasons are bad, some worse, but the cycle happens every year. Be prepared.
"Hoping that snow piles like this one don't grow any larger.."
In Finland we have snow piles higher than 2 story buildings.
😮HOW DO U GET OUT? AND LEAVE THE HOUSE?
@@joannemurdock7899 Snowplow drivers know what to do. They push those piles where it doesn't bother anyone. The piles get so high tho that they have to gather snow from those piles from time to time with heavy machinery & drive them away with trucks. I think they empty them into lakes (Finland is filled with lakes). Sometimes they bury stuff with those piles & they resurface when the snow melts (stuff like kurilka's aka smoking pavillions). Quite funny.
I think a home owner with their own land deals with snow themselves. Above is mostly for stores, apartment complexes & public spaces.
Imagine if winter happens every year...
Don't have to imagine more erratic winter weather either. Where I live we had daffodils and new leaves on black berry bushes this month then record low temps then record snow and back to rain.
@@rps1689 You didn't have record anything. Imagine if there are easily accessible databases which show all weather data since ~1930's and that data shows the average and outlier temps have not changed. Live in Reality
@@vajona3894 Reality is data shows that droughts, floods, and hurricanes are occurring at higher strengths due to climate change, and evidence points to climate change contributing to the frequency and magnitude of tornado behaviour. Also show an increase in some places in the summer getting warmer or cooler and in the winter to be cooler or warmer. We know how the Gulf Stream helps keep summers from getting too hot and winters from getting too cold, and that the Gulf Stream is slowing down due to climate change.
Data bases are easy to find considering it is not hard to access them today considering it is easier to get around paywalls to check out what top leading working scientists publish.
Appears English is not your first language; you need to brush up on your grammar and sentence structure.
Do tell when the last time in parts of Canada that had daffodils in full bloom in the middle of the winter and how often, or temps as high 99F near the Canadian Arctic in the summer?
@@rps1689 My comment was written in perfect English and clear enough so anyone with at least a 3rd grade reading comprehension level can understand it.
@@vajona3894 I stand corrected about your grammar. .
We did have record lows and highs this winter where I live even a record snow fall.
And this is why so many people are moving to Arizona, as a Arizona Native, it is insane how busy it has been over the past decade.
Half if not more are from California, Alberta, northern States.
Just today, it was 70 degrees and sunny. A perfect day like you would take a stroll in the park day.
They will regret it when summer heat hits
Wow, winter
Winter, happens every year, quit trying to hype it for views.
Yeah… it’s called Winter. 😂
It be going crazy this year though
Breaking news.... there's a 99.9% chance of darkness tonight followed by a sunrise.
It's safe to assume you live in an area not impacted by extreme weather. If it doesn't happen outside your front door, it isn't real sort of science?
@Ratboy2004 uh Alaska, MN, and WI, your logic, if you can call it that, is backwards. It's just how life is here, so it's not news.
Breaking News: Winter is wintering in the winter. Go figure.
Shows how good people are at working together...
I thought we were going to burn up from the sun
Why? Especially in the winter. You really need to get an education.
I’m sweltering in 37C heat… oooh the snow looks wonderful.
Wow, how dramatic and dangerous the weather can be. Cold all the way to the deep South. Mild weather how in Utah at low elevations the past few days being in the high 40's. So nice today there wasn't a painful chill to the air like a week ago.
They got that weather machine on blast I see
😂😂😂😂
Oh no, I felt so heartbroken for people who lived during the dangerously cold weather. I hope they will be ok
You must not know about real problems people have.
Here in Minnesota not a single sight of snow
I didn't know that a mowing machine was useful for cleaning up the snow.
It’s a snow blower
LOl, New tech every new generation.
Soon we will be mowing away acid rain if global warming has a say in it.
It is nothing new, everyone who lives here in the north is normal with this type of weather... The news is always exaggerating stuff...
Here in Canada we just vibing 😂
i live in Newcastle Australia and its PIPING HOT at the moment --our city hasn't seen snow since the last ice age --i am envious !
It’s in the 60’s and 70’s here in the Texoma area all week.
To my friend's friend living in the Arctic who sent me the IBM magnetic tapes, they told me that this is just normal to them. They told me they import a lot of cork and grade and ground them into aggregate chunks and bind them together with a rubber toughened oil-based phenolic resin. Often times the cork are all steam cleaned and vacuum dried and then binded together like flakes or laminated piles. Then they are cut according to the required thickness and sizes and shapes and stored until needed to insulate any structure. I was told that cork was used in the past in the Arctic that it insulates so well that they hardly used up their coal or bunker oil or wood pile for heating and hardly use any airconditioning during the hot summers.
Watching here from Philippines ❤
Ticks me off bc I am in GA and haven't seen Snow since 2021. I grew up in SC and when I was a kid it ALWAYS snowed a couple of days during the week of Christmas, and in January....but now? Nothing.
Then there's us in Colorado having little to no snow.
Meanwhile in East Ohio, we had single digit temps and snow, then our snow melted overnight and now it's T-shirt weather.
Look at that lighthouse…awesome
Meanwhile in France we get a whole day of light snowfall over the entire winter 👍
I live in North Carolina. We are expecting a high of 71 degrees today.
Wasn't this from last year, or two years ago back when Texas was hit by that Blizzard?
And not a word about EVs that don't work in cold temps. Hahaha. Way to go Joe
EVs actually do work in cold weather. 79% of new cars bought in Norway last year were for EVs. One of the coldest countries on earth and they're all driving EVs. Why do you think that might be?
EV batteries do suffer diminished power when cold but they don't stop operating. You'll have less driving time on a charge but you can still go where you need to; it comes down to a simple matter of planning. Has the battery in your ICE car ever failed in winter? Have you ever had to have a jumpstart? Have you ever run out of gas? Millions of us have.
ICE cars have their drawbacks too.
Look up “How Much Do Cold Temperatures Affect an Electric Vehicle’s Driving Range?” By by Consumer Reports. It is interesting that the Tesla Model Y can lose up to 50 per cent of his range if outside temperatures are very cold, but some other EVs do much better.. Also some EVs use more efficient heat pumps to get the cabin warm, which means there's more energy left over from the battery to propel the vehicle forward.
Watching comfortably from Southern California
I live in San Diego and some parts were flooded this week
Yeah its gonna be 18° when I leave for work tomorrow in central Georgia. That'll be the coldest I've seen in the entire 7 years I've lived here.
I blame trump
Of course you do...
Thumbnail had me thinking it was the Opium Bird 😂
Imagine thinking a few degrees below freezing is actually cold... Was -50°C in Alberta, Canada (that's -59°F in the weird numbers.)
Dear news teams. We know what snow is. There's no need to make the low man on totem pole go out in freezing cold to demonstrate what outside is
Were the people who died unhoused? This part of the video was so glossed over and casual.
The best thing about cold weather.... when it leaves❤😂🎉❤😊🎉...That first deep breath of warmer air.... priceless!!!❤😂🎉😊❤🎉
At the start legit the dude sounds like a happy AI
In the ancient future people will not find mammuts but cars in the ice 😂
Daa!poleni sana
They did not have to zoom in like that omg
i first thought it was canada because of the volume of snow
Wow I see video all the time of that lighthouse in Michigan with the bridge is and see huge ships coming in and it's just covered in ice now, that's crazy!!
That's what Jesus works can do for sure 😊😊
Remember you can’t get stuck in this weather, your boss doesn’t count any of this as a act of god because shovels exist
Tell that to those who keep saying that there's a global warming 🤦
As a Canadian I don't see the problem?
The day after tomorrow??
good movie
Is Monday
I feel for the homeless in Detroit 😔😩
Yeah, they don't care about the homeless... even if they work. If you got a car, it's rough but you can make it. Not a fun life, though. Most choose a squat or to leave the state entirely.
California is very appealing because of the weather, but now, with the market and other problems, it's a little cluttered.
@@Nathan-zf9xo yeah I always thought that… cali is the ideal place for a homeless person lol
And yet it's been raining through December and January. Wheres the storm here?
oh wow
So that's where all our snow went. (I'm from the southern part of UK)
As someone who was in the Scouts, cold is one of the easiest natural forces to survive. We need to train our youth better. I say it like that because the training already exists.
This Happens every year. No surprise 😒
how much is there ¿¿¿
I’ve been there in the summertime
Grand haven is a Hidden Michigan paradise with everything to offer ! It’s one of my favorite vacation spots and I never get bored there! But don’t tell anyone because I want it to be undiscovered and saved just for me!
Just like last year
Time to wax those shovels!!! Stop snow from sticking to your shovel with the non toxic solution
talk about global warming
Tonight is the last big one, stuck at home cus my car can't get up the hill.

You don't see no trees in sight in the first 6 seconds of the video near the ocean
Whoa its like the day after tomorrow
California most be loving all that water
Wouldve been more impressive if it wasn't aerial photography
This happens every year must be a slow news day
Michigan city Indiana got Slammed too. 2 ft snow
So it's a normal winter in the north..
West coast wasn't prepared.
Especially in Canada, where there were record highs and lows in January. And some daily records dumps of snow. We had daffodils in full bloom and new leaves on black berry bushes in the lower mainland in early January.
Its called winter guys, happens every year!
Why are people still forced to go to work under these conditions? Why isnt there a "forgivness bill", "government assistant check" or something passed to allow residents in cold hazardous states able to stay home for majority of an artic blast? How come more jobs havent adapted to remote working for such occasions. Its like every one says its dangerous out and someone might get hurt but not you come to work anyways...until they dont hear from them in 3 days. Sad
The world has changed
