  • Learning how to setup a Cateye Strada Double Wireless Computer can be tough.
    Cateye Strada Double Wireless (affiliate link): amzn.to/2tEZCOW
    The Cateye Strada Double Wireless is one of the most popular bicycle computers around. But with only 2 buttons to navigate the menu, it is not the most intuitive menu system around. Luckily, you have this video to walk you through the proper setup!
    Other common Tire Circumference Codes: 700C Tubular = 2130, 650x23C = 1944, 29x2.1 = 2288, and 29x2.3 = 2326

    Helpful video. I thought it was a screw type cover over the battery. The safety pin trick was perfect.

    • @InsideEndurance
      @InsideEndurance  Před 4 lety +1

      Glad it worked for you! I think other people have commented here that you can just press into the battery cover to get it to pop off, but that hasn't worked for me so well. Therefore I resort to the safety pin - but it does cause a little damage to the plastic occasionally (but not enough for me to really worry about).

    Nice, detailed video. I have done a few videos on my channel on cateye strada. The number one suspect is usually the sensor and the magnet. (The distance between those two) Even the inexpensive battery can last long time. Speaking about my personal experience, I usually need to be within 5-6mm range for the magnet and sensor to work. Than if that fails, I look at the battery.
    Btw I subbed to follow and support. Lovely channel.
    Thumbs up
    Ivan

    The thing I don't like on this device is, when you change the battery you lose all data. I bought my bike new and wanted to track the miles long term. Another issue is the holding tape gets hot and the device slips on the handle bars.

      Glad it could help! I don't think you can power it down. Instead it goes into a power saving mode when it's not being used. Here is what the instruction manual says: "If the computer has not received a signal for 10 minutes, power-saving mode will activate and only the clock will be displayed. When the computer receives a sensor signal again, the measuring screen reappears. If 60 minutes’ inactivity elapses, power-saving mode will change to SLEEP mode. Pressing the MODE in SLEEP mode brings up the measuring screen."

      From my experience with this computer the batteries last for several months. I also by the CR2032 batteries from Ikea because you can get a giant pack of them for a few dollars. That covers me for years on a few devices like this one that use that battery.

    Okay, I ride a recumbent, see picture. So by double wireless does that mean to transmitters on the wheel and two receivers on the main unit? Also do you think it has the range? The wheel mounted unit and the handle bar unit will be about twice the distance from each other as on a normal bike. P.S. any idea what the code is for a 20x1.75 wheel/tire combo?

    • @InsideEndurance
      @InsideEndurance  Před 5 lety

      Hey James! First off, the "double wireless" refers to the fact that it has wireless connections for speed (coming from the wheel) and cadence (coming from the crank). I think it should have the range you need, but I have only used this setup on standard sized road bikes so far. As far as your wheel/tire combo - I believe the code you need is 1515. Hope that helps!
