Dan said it best at the end of the video, “seems like there are small pockets of deer.” That explains PA big woods public ground perfectly. If you don’t find one of those small pockets you will see no deer. Those pockets move with food source changes and pressure. If you aren’t locating fresh sign you are constantly behind the 8 ball. Hey fellas just a FYI for next time. There doesn't have to be 4 on one side. Some parts of the state can have a Browtine, g2, and main beam, majority of the state is just "3 up" which means no browtine, g2, g3, and main beam.

If you wouldn’t have told me this was PA I’d 100% guess Michigan since all the 12pt bucks are spikes

PA bucks are tough aint they? Not like out west or down south. Smart deer up here. They now how to avoid the pressure.

I’m glad they are not portraying PA public land hunting as easy. We all knew it would involve a lot of work to be successful here. I usually try tucking in near private that doesn’t have easy access or the small pockets that are too easy and people over look. Keep it up guys someone will stick one!

Little hint for pa public. Get out of the mountain areas. Look for low land public in farm country. It’s really tough up there. Look at smaller public game lands. Washington, Allegheny co, Greene co, flat lands of Fayette co all hold some big deer.

M’s husband, I hunt and love it, but this challenge is a lot of fun to watch and helps me to have a better hunt . Look forward for each one. P.S. very hard to pick a favorite. Better to me than any super bowl!!!

My rule of thumb for PA antler restrictions .. 3 up is a shooter no matter what zone I am in. Anything less is not worth shooting. Keep it simple.

Three up is legal anywhere in the Commonwealth. You don't need brow tines. Some areas are allowed to add the brow to a fork as the third point.
