great test . thanks
PSA for those who bought the 'LP' model of the F1. Zoom is now selling their SMF-1 Shock mount individually for $29.99 if you email them directly!
Third Coast Crypto Nice! They were pretty helpful when I needed the belt clip!
TD3 I seem to find mine coming loose very easily, any issues with yours?
Third Coast Crypto nope! I haven’t. Sorry.
Whoa...why so much static on the Zoom when using the shotgun??
Could be user error, I've grown so much in my video/audio knowledge since this video haha but it also might just be the mic. I honestly haven't used that Zoom shotgun hardly at all since I got it. I've moved up to better mics.
Dude, what's your favorite recorder of the two? TY
It’s been a while since I made this, now it’s the Zoom F2 that uses 32bit float.
can you connect any shotgun mic 3.5 to DR10L or F1?
Should be able to no problem.
@@TracyDavis904 thanks
I like Zoom F1 better based on the sound alone....
Gheorghe Dobrescu It does have a good sound!
Hello, Which microphone you are using for your videos? It sounds good enough!
manolis nikolaidis this video used the Rode VideoMic Pro +
When you test Zoom vs Tascam the distance between your mouth and the mic is not the same. Might come to wrong conclusions if there is so much inconsistency.
There's not that much difference.
What website did you buy the belt clip from? Can you provide a link?

Why did you hold the zoom lav closer to your mouth?
Unintentional.
Besides super glue? What else would you recommend to protect those wire connections? Also... I checked Zooms site for extra LAVs just for a back ups... but not sure if they sell them..
Reviews By Robbie Gaff tape would work too. Anything to take the extra stress off the joints.
There are plenty of good lavs on amazon for like $30 to keep extra.
yeah Gaffer tape is sort of my solution too. Thanks dude! Keep up the content!
Again, it seems like Tascam audio in a Zoom body would be ideal..
What happens when I put a shotgun on the tascam dr10? :)
I think it could work if it's a powered shotgun! The DR10L won't supply phantom power but it's possible!
@@TracyDavis904 Awesome thank you! I think I will try out the takstar shotgun as on camera mic with it, otherwise use as good lavalier set-up. The reason is that I do not want to get a cheap hybrid like the zoom h1, maybe it is better to get a dedicated lavalier recorder, see how far it goes both ways, and later upgrade to another, more dedicated recorder :)
@@TracyDavis904 It works fine if mic has it's own power. I have a Tascam DR-10x and use it directly plugged in shotgun and with lav using an adapter.
Can these be monitored live without them recording? For checking levels etc?
Thanks
adsertheblade Yel there’s a headphone jack.
@@TracyDavis904 Thanks for the reply. Can you also monitor without recording? Or does it have to be recording i order to be able to hear what is going on in the headphones?
Thanks
