Hei! Doing leatherwork as a full time job here. Nice work! Only one thing to add - you forgot to deal with the edges. The cut edges on leather are where some dirt and moisture can get into the leather pores - making the leather weaker over time until it starts to fall apart eventually. If nothing better is available - use water and/or beeswax and rub it into the edged with a wooden stick or even use the handle of your knife.
I just made one of these. I used a piece of leather that was given to me at a shoe shop in Positano, Italy, when I was there on vacation a few years back. It turned out really nice. I rubbed beeswax into the raw edges. Thanks for the tutorial!

I'm new at leatherwork and need to do this for my Viking head long beard ax. I bought some leather and snaps and rivets and eyelets and now I'm looking at pattern ideas and ways to do it.
@@stacyhazelwood4033 I went to Michael's and picked up a pack of each of snaps, rivets, and eyelets. Rivets and snaps come in two sizes and they are together in one package. You can also get a one-pound package of scrap leather to practice with.

Is there a place you can point me or could you put together a set of links that if we purchased everything we would have the tools and materials to make it? Or better yet, use a piece of bone as your burnishing tool.
