Thank you. My first wife battled cancer. Pregnant, our doctor told us to abort. Astonished, we chose life. My daughter is 29, married to a wonderful man, and expecting her second. We chose her. We will never regret that decision. My wife went home when our daughter was 4 years old.

Amazing! My mother was leaving my father and attempted to abort me 3x but her blood pressure was too high each time despite never having a history of it. That third time was her last chance bc she was too far along in the first trimester, and this was in NY! My dad had no idea she was pregnant and would’ve been against it had he known. He eventually found the Lord just a few months shy of my birth. And things were never the same. They’re still together to this day! God is so good! So merciful. And so gracious.

My mom, a devoted Christian, had a stroke, one of my aunts wanted her to have an abortion cause she didn't think that she would be able to carry me. She obviously didn't cause here I am and I was able to take care of her and my dad before they passed. This song hit home for me too.

Brett's transition into the high notes was flawless she definitely needs to sing more often
I'd say even more than that, - her voice control is much better than that of her "co-star".
Brett's voice production and flow, is way more effortless (particularly when she has to switch
registers), and she never strains, never sounds "narrow", - unlike the other girl. Not to mention
that her timbre is both richer and more pleasant. She definitely should consider doing it more,
even as a hobbyist. I've never met anybody who could sing well and not enjoyed it.
@@HexenStar agreed. Brett's not "country" so she doesn't have any nasality she's adding for twang, so she sounds a lot more pure and being as I'm sure she doesn't drink or smoke with some training she could probably really belt with her breath control

Not hurting a proper voice development during the formative years, combined with
later properly directed musical training of voice production - that does make a difference.
Besides, some people are just born with a better timbre and better vocal control. If they
don't screw it up during teenage years - they get to keep it. Trace Adkins, Marty Stewart
and Beth Hart, for an example in this category, - have a beautiful vocal texture, they easily
and naturally control the flow and power. Either by being born this way (and nurturing it)
or by being properly trained from a starting potential(!) - or both. Same goes in reverse:
when you ain't got it - then you ain't go it. One can be taught to hear and sing an interval
right, but that's about as far as these things go. A good singing voice can't come from
nothing at all.

Brett killed it. I'm surprised. Never expected her to sing so well. She really had control of her voice, and her technique was great.

@@israels4450 Well no she was flat on her falsetto every time lol. She’s a good singer though, definitely the typical type that was in choir in highschool and likely a sing a long type gal. Talented. But she only had vocal control over 2 octaves. She’d need a minimum of 3 with 100% control to release solid professional grade music. Her falsetto seems just too rusty or her range just doesn’t extend enough.

This had me crying! My sister was almost aborted. Her mom (my stepmom) was 17 when she had her and her entire family was pushing her to abort. We may not be blood, but our parents started dating when we were 2 and 3 years old so we grew up together and I’m so glad her mom chose her ❤ it’s really incredible to see how much God loves someone right from the beginning, and seeing how God can love someone in that way shows us how to love them too. I love my sister and I’m so happy she’s here

Country music is the easiest genre of music to sing with very few exceptions. Have her sing modern broadway, belty jazz or female rock ballads. Not everyone is a singer, just because she’s pretty doesn’t mean her voice is, this isn’t me hating this is just me being honest. If she wants to take lessons and training to improve her technique and tonality then she might just be able to sing, but right now I’m not that impressed. Most of these comments are just lying to this poor girl simply because she’s someone they like.
I love Brett’s confidence for stepping out of her comfort zone with this. One can only hope to have such a beautiful smart woman/daughter like her.

What is great about She Chose Me is that it’s a gentle song. It does NOT even dip its big toe into political statements. It just tells one person’s story (which happens to also be the story of tens and tens of thousands of other people) and celebrates the BEST decision that can be made in that situation. It builds up-hope and courage and strength-instead of tearing down. ❤️❤️❤️ this song, RaeLynn!!

My parents were seriously considering aborting me 61 years ago in 1962. They had already had 3 children and really couldn't afford a fourth. But my Mom chose me. And we adored each other. So many good times and laughs and memories. She was magic. She passed away when I was 23 in 1985. But to this day her kindness and grace still impacts my life in so many ways. Thanks Mom. I miss you. Beautiful song and performance. Thanks ladies.

@ Oliver Charles Because its an important part of Brett’s story. Parents should be honest with their children about these things when their child is the appropriate age. I would want to know if that was part of my story of how I was brought into the world. That’s a powerful piece of knowledge, and it puts the conversation surrounding abortion into a new perspective. To know that your mother was in such a difficult place in life that she considered aborting you because abortion is marketed as the easy answer to make the “problem” go away, but then chose to go against that and chose to give you life? That’s a beautiful and powerful thing to know.
There are many adults walking around who had parents that considered aborting them, and they are none the wiser and have no idea. These same adults who love the life they have, not knowing that they themselves were almost a victim to abortion, are supporting abortion vehemently. Imagine if all of those people knew the truth about their start to life, and how they almost weren’t born due to the thing they so fiercely defend. People who love their life, their family, their friends and their own children, but don’t truly grasp what the ramifications of supporting abortion are and that by supporting abortion, they are supporting their own potential death and nonexistence.
An adult should be emotionally mature enough to hear that their mother almost aborted them, but instead chose to give them life. While it would certainly be shocking and jarring to hear at first, it shouldn’t be a negative thing if disclosed in a loving manner. That a parent loved you so much they chose to give you life is not a negative thing at all, and it shouldn’t be treated as some big secret that needs to be kept hidden. Healthy and honest communication between a parent and child, at appropriate ages, is never a bad thing. Keeping secrets, however, can be detrimental.
Brett’s mom telling her she considered abortion was not done to hurt Brett. She was being honest with her daughter about her origin story, so that Brett truly understood that she was wanted and loved, and that she was meant to be here. It changed Brett’s entire perspective on life and on abortion in a positive way, not a negative one. And Brett is now able to use her platform to share her story and hopefully help others. If her mother never told her, this never would have happened. There is power in truth. Thankfully Brett’s mother recognized that.

Currently pregnant in a situation where it would be a whole lot easier/ a lot less emotionally painful not to be. I know I'll face lot of scrutiny once people find out. I'm keeping the baby because I am pro-life but I've been mentally beating myself up for having allowed this to happen. This song moved me to tears because it took away some of the shame and self loathing I feel in this situation and reminded me that I'm being brave for taking responsibility for my actions and choosing life despite all the consequences I'm suffering for it. I needed that reminder. Thank you both.

Very soon you won’t regret a thing, have faith it’ll work out for the best. We all can sorta objectively look back on regrets, but it hits different with kids. Any other choice usually means no kid, and that’s inconceivable.
I was in a similar situation when I was pregnant with my first child. I know it’s not easy, but please, try not to beat yourself up about it. It might take a while to see why things timed out this way. But believe me, there’s a reason why your child is coming into you life now. When I fell pregnant with my first, I was in the middle of OT school and was so far away from my family.
I switched programs to help fast track my schooling. I got to be in a presentation with Abby Johnson where they did a live ultrasound on me at 13 weeks pregnant. Lockdown made it so I could finish my didactics remotely while caring for a newborn. I applied for a hardship form, and my school was able to relocate me to be closer to family. Moving back would have been impossible had he not been around.
I graduated on time. Now he’s two and a half with a little brother. This won’t be easy, but you’re going to be okay. ❤️
When someone aborts a child, they abort all that child could be. And that child could be the greatest gift you've ever been given. You've made the right decision and in time you will know it with all your heart. Stay strong and Bless you.

First I have heard this song and it hits hard. Not because I am the unexpected child but because I was the mom, a teen mom at that, with an unplanned pregancy. I chose him. He changed me for the better. 14 years has passed and has been my biggest blessing. Never a burden.

My mother also chose me, she was in bed and sick for almost her entire pregnancy with me. It was told to her that I was not going to make it to my birth. I'm so grateful to her and how strong and amazing my mom is for giving me the opportunity to fight for my life. I won that fight. Now 21 years later, I'm in college studying to be a psychologist in order to enter the mental health care field. I would not have any of these opportunities if wasn't for the angel my mom is. She took the hard road for me. This song hits home for me.

I’m in tears. This is similar to mine and my mother’s story. She was going to leave my father with my older sister and got pregnant with me. She went to church and everything. She went to the clinic 3x but God intervened each time making it impossible for her to go through with it. And what God has done in the lives of me, her, and my father could never be forgotten. A marriage saved. A life saved. A family saved by Christ. A husband has me as his wife and three beautiful children. And my parents (still together) get to be their grandparents. That legacy that would been lost had God not intervened. We’re so unworthy of such mercy, but are so thankful for how He chose to work in our family.

Oh my gosh, Brett… you really caught me off-guard. This song and your voice is truly amazing. These lyrics have a ton of power behind them and (I hope and pray) is eye-opening for many young women who need to hear this point of view because so many of theme have no clue of just how precious and rewarding bringing another life into this beautiful world this is. A child being brought into your life is never a burden but is nothing but a blessing. Of course there is so much of this world that is ugly but it’s up to each individual whether or not to search out and see the beauty that life has to offer. Life is what you make of it. Life is a gift. Who is anyone to deny the innocent of it?

I shed a tear. This song probably applies to many of us who have young parents. My mom told me about how everyone was telling her she was too young and she should abort me. Aunties from both sides, her parents, her friends. The only ones who supported her were my dad and his mom. Such a beautiful song!
