Cut circles in half, form intriguing belly band designs ||

- Today I split various punched and die-cut circles in half, then I rearrange them into unusual patterns that work great with a junk journal belly band. They’d be super as strong focal points on a journal card or tag as well. And what a great way to use those mixed-media papers that aren’t so great-looking on a large scale, but lend themselves perfectly to these accent pieces!

Even though I don't do mixed media or journaling, I DO enjoy watching the process it takes for the making. Love watching whatever you do!
You're so kind, Judy, thank you! I have a mixed media project coming at the end of the month (for my one-year CZcams anniversary!) and I think you'll get a kick out of it. You're so nice to be watching, thank you!
I'm mostly a cardmaker but so far I'm seeing techniques that will work for them. Thanks for the inspiration.
You are so welcome! I'm also a cardmaker and really like to find ways the crafts can intersect. In fact, I'm about to make some cards today with the little "whimsical birds" I posted on Friday. Thank you for watching!
Hi Anne, Gayle sent me. Love this idea....I love circles, spheres and bubbles.
Thank you so much! They're fun, aren't they? And almost NO way to do them wrong!
Hi Ann, I heard about you from Gayle. Yay! Another junk journaled to get new ideas from! Love that you don’t care that something sticks over the edge. So many won’t go through with an idea because it doesn’t “fit”. I love extending the borders!
Me too🎉 thanks to Gayle
You're so kind, Sue, thank you very much!
So happy that you're here!
First time viewer sent by Gayle A. She was right you have amazing ideas. I have a road trip later this week - I will be binge watching your videos! Can’t wait!😊
Thank you! I'm honored to be accompanying you on your road trip! I appreciate your watching, many thanks!
Anne, you amaze me! You have so many unique, fun ideas! These are really cool! I have a whole pocket in a pouch of circles that have literally been sitting there for years! I’m going to grab those bad boys out and have a play! Thanks so much for sharing, my friend! ❤
Gayle, you're so kind, thank you! Do have fun with your circles (some of your "forgotten friends"?) I love how the ideas just flow all through our wonderful community. I'm thrilled to be a part of it. Appreciate you so much!
Love your half circles.💜🐞
Thank you! They're just so versatile, aren't they?
Hi Anne! Sent over by Gayle. Love this idea for using circles. Gives things an abstract flair which is different. I like different. 😊 Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for sharing! Sue 😊❤
Thank you so much, Sue! Yes, once I realize this would turn out with a sort of retro, pop-art look, I liked it all the more. So delighted you are here, and thank you for finding your way over!
After all my holiday eating, I could use some belly bands....
You're still as slim as a one-signature pamphlet, my brother!
🤣👍🏼 know the feeling
Love this idea. I'm thinking that I will be able to use this idea for both my journals and card making. Wonderful inspiration 😊 thanks Anne
Wonderful! I used it first in card making as well. It's so versatile! Thanks for watching.

Oh, wow, thank you so very much! I really appreciate your watching and commenting!
Hi Anne! Gayle sent me. 😊 Love your use of circles in this project and some of my favorite colors too. Looking at the final configurations they do look like treble clefs. Very cool.
Thank you, Lisa! Glad you also caught the notion of the treble clefs - that was a happy surprise when it came together. Thanks for watching!
Hi Anne .. Gayle sent me over as well .. I absolutely adore your circle belly bands and am inspired to make some for my journals .. thank you for sharing! xxx

Welcome, welcome! I'm so thrilled and honored that Gayle recommended my channel. I wonder if she did it through her Patreon? In any case, it's terrific to connect with you! Thank you!
@@annekenlon I am a member of her Patreon - it may have been a Patreon suggestion ☺️
Hello Anne! Sent over by Gayle...this is such a neat idea! I would have never thought to do this myself. TY for the inspiration. xo

Awesome! Thank you! I appreciate your coming by!
Very cool! Gayle sent me over and I love this idea because I have all the circle punches!! Definitely need some new ideas!
Thank you so much! I'm really honored by Gayle's mention. I have all the circle punches as well, as well as dies, and on and on - I'm sure you'll have as much fun using your circles as I did! Welcome!

Hello, new subscriber here. Gayle Agostinelli sent us over. Your numbers may go up! I really loved that last belly band. Very striking.
Hello! Thank you so very much, I'm humbled by so many people jumping aboard. Try out the belly band, it's so easy and turns out great every time!
Always love your ideas😊❤
Thanks so much, Suzy!
Hello Ann I'm a new subscriber Gayle sent me. Loving your ideas. I think use some goo gone. Then decorate your bottle. Mabey decoupage, If it ain't broke. Lol. Glad to be here.
Thank you! Do you know what, right after I did the last couple of videos, I did get my the Goo Gone to clean up that scruffy bottle! Thanks so much for visiting my channel, I really appreciate it. This is all so much fun for me, I really can't believe it!
hi anne. gayle sent me. love the palette you are working with and who doesn't love a half circle :) i think your glue bottle isn't so much scruffy as a well used tool.
You're making me chuckle! Thank you! I actually got out the Goo Gone and cleaned it up shortly after I recorded this! Thanks for being here!
I really like the look of the circles but i think other shapes would work too. I think this is also a good way to use up mixed media projects yhat didn't turn out. Once you cut them down they usually look much better.
TFS♥️
I totally agree! Thanks for watching!
This is gorgeous, Anne! It is very creative and looks like a work of art 😍
Thank you so much! I was astonished by how nice it looked, too, truthfully! The circles do all the work!
I love these ideas, so amazing!
I'm so glad! Thank you!
I think we were separated at birth😂😂😂 I was going to do a circle belly band idea I saw on Pinterest😂😂 lovely idea Anne😍
Do it! Do it! I can't wait to see it! Hugs to you, dear Sue.

In my card making, I say"embrace the wonky"; perfection is highly overrated and will NEVER happen in handmade crafts. 😁
Perfection - no way! Hee hee
Hello Ann, great ideas. Question...what is the small gray cutter? What is that thin brownish papers looks like wax paper?
Thank you so very much! The cutter is just a small desktop paper trimmer. There's not even a brand name on it, actually - I think I got it on Amazon and as you could see, it's very handy for small cuts. The thin paper is called "painter's masking paper" and it's available very inexpensively on rolls of various widths. Check online or wherever you would be house paints. Thanks for watching!
Love the circles!!! I like the ideas of belly bands. I have done a few, however, everything slides out from under. Is there a trick I am missing? I have been under the weather and I am trying to catch up on my videos.
Hope you're better soon, Darlene! On the belly bands - I find they work best with a slightly thicker element underneath - like a booklet or an envelope or tag with other elements in it. I'm actually doing another video later this week on a journal card with its own custom-fit belly band and I have confidence that one will help things stay put! Thanks for watching!
Since I know you I can tell you stuff. I’m not liking the symmetry. I think you should go wacky! Also, I notice when you cut the circles, it’s always parallel or perpendicular to the printed material. Try off kilter!
I will! You always inspire me to try new things - and I am grateful you don't mind having an off-balance friend! haha!
