- Coney plays Multiversus on launch and although he finds the game a bit slower than he likes as well as some bugs that are apparent in the launch, he still finds the game extremely fun and drops some shenanigans on his opponents.

Oh I get it, they're preparing to add the flash, they make the game move like gelatin and then when flash is moving normal speed it seems insanely fast in comparison

Playing the game feels kinda slow, but wow. Watching it really puts into perspective how slow this game really is.

The game definitely needs to be sped up, its good that its slower than before but this is too slow.
Also I still don't like the lack of shields but that's personal preference.
I really want this game to be good, I do, because not only do I like it a lot, I see it has a lot of potential to be something special.
And hoenstly, I like the 2v2 focus. Its unique and fun.

@@braddotson3429 That's not the problem. Nor is that the same kind of shield, nor does it fill the role in the way I'm intending or looking for. Plus, frankly, that's a rude way to respond to someone that prefers playing characters like Harley.
Not only that, but I said it was personal preference because I'm not asking this game to change that.
I personally prefer that all characters have a shield in the style of smash, as a form of universal defensive tool outside of evasion and parries, while some characters like wonder woman could have additional tools. However, i still understand the reason to choose to make a game differently, and respect it.

The animations themselves are not bad but this game is lacking visual clarity in some aspects and feeback on when you hit people, like actual hit feedback. You want a sense of impact and this game has none of that.
It's... sooooo slow.
The fact it's like half the speed of the original is just hard to watch.
At least 2v2 looks fun, but I can't imagine playing the game at this speed in 1v1.
It’s bad characters like Arya have no type of advantage now she can’t move fast so it’s easy to miss combos then they still haven’t fixed her combos she rarely connects on any moves
It’s still fun but it is slow and takes getting used to. I prefer the faster pace though

@@sikeyno.87972 hours later? I used her, i can forsure tell u her true combos arent true anymore. Had so much games played before beta and plus they removed a perk that rlly helped woth her combos. Just not consistent anymore at all
I wish it had an offline mode. I do not like disconnecting every ten minutes and then having to constantly worry about a battle pass for a fun goofy platform fighter I want to play with my family. Like damn, the rift mode being connected to the internet makes no sense, the enemies are bots and the minigames are single player.

There hasn’t been disconnections every 10 min no lag for me whatsoever
It let me do some things offline while servers were down
It has a offline local mode
I changed the playback speed of the video to 1.10x and also 1.15x and it couldn't be anymore perfect. Not too fast, but also not super slow either
I think this game has taken the perfect direction to compete with smash in that it's designed to be a casual game first and that's why it's so slow

@@Raccoonhandler11 like my favorite is still Rivals, absolutely one of the most hard-core competitive platform fighters, but Multiversus is just great casual fun
Casuals will leave the game after a week or two, you need the mechanics and gameplay to be good for it to last and have a competitive scene, they rerelease it with like 5x the problems they did on beta (which everyone left after a few weeks on that) so why will anyone stick around for the “full release”
The camera angle of the game is also concerning
Even the beta compared to any Smash game just felt like you were fighting through jelly with how weird the animations interacted with characters.
Now the game feels like if an already sluggish Smash-like got dumped in a Dark Souls swamp level
Got used to it and game is still really fun

If this game were put at 1.25x speed, it would instantly be twice as enjoyable to play and to watch.
It's just slow enough for the speed to be a problem, but not slow enough to be unplayable. The perfect gray zone of mediocrity.
Other than the speed, though, it seems like a pretty good game all around with a lot of potential. I'm excited to see how the game grows and changes as time progresses.

I hated the speed of the beta personally, in particular how literally nothing was punishable. That being said, if you’re the type to enjoy movement most in platform fighters, I can see why this game would be less appealing.
When things were fast, it just felt right to spam moves with large hitboxes constantly. The game was a mash fest. Now it feels like I choose when to attack a little bit better, like in Smash Bros.
It was the dodging. You could dodge so much and basically have more s than hitable frames sometimes.
But the speed at which you can whip out moves, the small hit delay and using moves after using a dodge should have stayed the same. Just make the dodge punishable if the person misses it by not letting them dodge again too fast but you should be able to instantly jump and use another move like you used to. I miss the smoke screen batman dodge dash roll out with a side air.
Now you just move at one speed thats very predictable and then when you hit shit, it pauses for 4 years so you can graduate before continuing your combo.

Game speed had little to do with unpunishable moves.
If they had legit just used the dodge meter system they have now (6 dodges, 2 dodge attacks/jumps) with the other beta systems, the game would be basically perfect. The beta suffered from dodge cancel windows on a lot of moves and an overabundance of dodge availability; limit that, you slow down the game without needing to actually drag everything through 9 tons of molasses.

Aerial attack then dodge spam. Came to a point where I forgot they added dash attacks because they seem pretty useless with everyone jump dodging around.
I would like the thank coney for talking slowly so the audio is still compressive at 1.5 speed

Everyone complaining about the speed of the game meanwhile I’m baffled we can’t turn off stage hazards resulting in matches where we win or lose randomly based on some random laser or bomb knocking either of us out.
Actually you kinda can, but it's going to be restricted to ranked, ranked will not have the bullshit like powerful girls mojo, and instead will have stages that don't have hazards. Normal games will have all the stages(but strangely Dexter lab with all the procedural generation is not in the pool and only the ranked version is)

It does people just like the ability to consistently dive super fast and fly constantly through the air which doesn’t take coordination or combat skill just takes movement understanding now they made it where more enemy all around the map isn’t as prominent which in return creates a space for people to have to learn their characters kits way more instead of dodge down special dodge up special type of thing

@@TheGodlyGamerMugen no it’s because this feels so much less fun. It’s like the JJK game. It has slow combos to allow for team combos but it doesn’t look cool nor feel cool. It would be more rewarding to hit a team combo if you had to react quickly to link up
Yeah but the pauses after hits are soooooo goddamn irritating. I've been winning with batman a lot so far, but not having fun.
The problem was that the characters were too small for the beta speed. Now they're big so the speed should be either reverted or sped up at least and remove those hit delays so you have to whip out combos from quick muscle memory.
I wanna dodge dash into a sair and then do fast and fancy combos without delays after hits.
All it really needed was less dodging and bigger characters to fit the speed.
I kinda feel like the slow speed does feel good for MV but it needs to be tuned, maybe a bit faster.

Honestly after giving it some time, I actually vibe with it being slowed down. The fast speed made it not fun to spectate and in gameplay, sometimes it just felt too chaotic in a bad way

Camera is a big problem to me. They need a setting to fix it. When it comes to smaller problems, they ruined gizmo. Now he will target popcorn instead of his opponent. His combat gizmo costume looks horrible as well when you face one direction.

Yea the Speed some old BS. The game being faster 2 years ago is what made it so addicting.
Right now I’m playing a lot of Fin and Joker. I didn’t plan on ever really trying Joker but I had to use a DC character in the Rift mode. so I tried him out and I loved him. So fun. I mostly played Fin in the beta and still love the dude. I’m a huge fan of Jason. He is my 3rd main. I put him 3rd cause I want to play him but I need to learn some combos with him. If he even has any worth learning. Figured it would be best to wait till someone who actually knows fighting games comes up with some. VS me trying to stitch together some shit that is just ass. I feel like Jason is definitely a character you need to learn some stuff with to be effective. I love the dude so I’ll definitely stick with him but once ranked comes out idk if I’ll be playing him.

Imo NasB was the meaning of a game that had too much speed where almost no moves had endlag, it was trying to become smash melee which it should accept it's not.
This game's beta speed was fine(wasn't smash ult or melee's speed. It was its own movement), they just had to fix the hitboxes, endlag for some moves and nerf/buff some characters here and there. Nerf the amount of s that dodge had at times, would've been fine there. Most importantly fix the servers.
Now it just feels like a sluggish, it became impossible to watch for me. It's a good thing the game is free. I honestly don't see this game being as active on the long run compared to the beta. Sure in tournaments it was difficult to keep up for some people (not for me, once you're use to playing this game it was easy to follow) but now I can say..Im good lol

@@ayosj99it takes more skill now. Before wasn't skill it was who could spam dodge and safe moves better. Now it's who is actually playing better and managing their meter better. Skill ceiling much higher now. Need skill just to play the game.

Havent played it yet but this game always looked strange to me, like the characters are being moved around in photoshop. But I like the character models and the animations might not look strange when you are actually playing the game
The slowness makes more sense when you realize the game is designed with 2v2 in mind. It’s easier to coordinate when you move slow.
It makes it a horrible spectating experience, it’s boring af way too slow
Why does it have to be so easy for people? Thats the cool part of these games, watching the pros do cool things in tournaments. 2v2 is not as competitive and when you make things easy and slow Its not rewarding at all to learn and play and like others have said its a shit viewing experience. What a letdown lol

I don’t know the logistics of changing speed in games like this, but I’d imagine it’s not as simple as speeding up all the animations and general run speed. I’d like if they found a way though because people are hating on it now even though there’s still a lot to appreciate
@@WhyYouWahYooin the beta the characters were all way faster, and the characters models were all sized-up substantially. I’m pretty sure they can just revert the changes fairly easily, or at the very least implement semi-revert

even if this game was faster, you still cant grab, block, use tilts, or do back air. and then even IF they fixed the game, the incredibly predatory monetization system would ruin it anyway
People say that the slowness will help with coordination in doubles. What about singles though? This just makes this game basically required to be 2v2. It makes it so uninteresting to watch. That will be a money loss for multiversus if people don’t stream the game and increase engagement. It is literally only hurting them by making this game feel so slow and sluggish. The casual fanbase buys games because they see others playing it. If no one is recording or streaming themselves playing then no players, casual or competitive, will buy it.

Just turn up the speed, remove the delays after dodging for using moves faster (except dodging again, dodge battles were the beta problem).

The game is really fun when it works. My only problem is how often im crashing, and how - despite being day one and this being a known bug - the devs have implemented a timeout for disconnecting. That kinda sucks. Otherwise, great fun. Hope they fix the crashing.
This version feels more unfinished then the beta honestly.
