I always wanted to see them fight in the anime. The personified alien virus that layed waste to Rayquaza against the genetically engineered abomination who flattened all in his path. Their fight would be legendary.
Sadly it isn’t that beastly epic with the where to fight. Both have already fought in the manga, and to summarize it Mewtwo didn’t stand a chance and got destroyed by Deoxys, Mewtwo only won due the circumstances that Deoxys was under Giovanni control and order Deoxys to rather than finish off the weaken Mewtwo, instead Attack his trainer red, which gave Mewtwo the opportunity to beat Deoxys with a surprise attack.

Or maybe coz Rayquaza sees Groudon and Kyogre as planet native like him, so this creates a sort of bias. Deoxys on the other hands is an outsider, a danger coming from elsewhere.

Can I just say Deoxys is one of the most creepiest Pokemon to ever freaking exist? I think it's his mysterious origin, his cold background, and his eyes that just throw him off. I was scared of him as a kid and he creeps me out now. It's unreal. It really is.

Deoxys HAS to be my favorite legendary Pokémon.
It essentially is trying to reach perfection not by existing as an un-alterable supreme living being but by permanently adapting to the situation,
its speed form is sleek, only having singular arms and a very aerodynamic shape for optimum traveling velocity to get to places and even outpace an enemy,
its attack form is said to be specifically designed to fight Pokémon on earth, trading all durability for sheer force and offensive prowess to quickly dispose of enemies,
its defense form looks as if it could easily take a bus-impact, protecting the neck by pulling it into the torso and its arms get wider to provide more protection,
its standard form is capable of mimicking humanoid traits, such as hands.
Overall just a fascinating and mysterious Pokémon.
I would love if it would have similar characteristics as the Pokémon Aegislash, who‘s able to undergo a form-change by using certain moves, it would make way more sense for Deoxys having a similar ability, if it uses a damaging move it transforms into Deoxys-Attack, if it uses Protect it transforms to Deoxys-Defense, if it uses a status move it transforms to Deoxys-Speed and it enters the battlefield always as Deoxys-Standard. Maybe that would make it too busted
I know this is an old comment but now that Crowned Zacian exists (even if they have removed Mega Rayquaza) I don't think it'd be too busted for what it is.
If it's in Defense forme, it'd likely have to take a hit before it changes again - if you're using a Deoxys in pvp, chances are there aren't any restrictions anyway, meaning there's probably something on the other side of the field more than able to outspeed a base 90 speed stat.
If it needs to use Recover, you'd have to switch formes to Speed which has base 90 defense. Granted it's higher than I thought, but if you're against a widely used legendary like Yveltal or Zacian you'd likely have to use Substitute first meaning it wouldn't just be "mash the A button to win".
This is a super cool idea! One of my favourite type of pokemon to use for fun are the "you don't need a defence stat if you outspeed and oneshot everything" ones (so mainly Deoxys-Attack, Pheromosa and reversed Shuckle), and this just adds an extra layer to that! It's always super cool seeing it shift formes in the anime/films, so this'd just bring it closer to that.
(Also, it's better than boring old Pressure lmao)

Did you ever think what Deoxys is? Here is my theory, to anyone interested:
There was a primitive life form in space, near the orbit of Earth. This strange life form formed some kind of crystals. When these crystals fell on Earth, they interacted with the organic material in this planet, forming creatures like Staryu and Starmie. Some of these creatures were pacific towards Earth's primitive life forms (maybe Kabutops, Armaldos and other fossil Pokémon). But some of them were not. These aliens attacked life on Earth, and the ancestral legendary Pokémon had to battle them. After a Pokémon war, Rayquaza managed to send the remains of these creatures to space.
3000 years before Pokémon X and Y, the Ultimate Weapon (I don't know if that's the English name, but you know what it is) created by AZ to revive his Floette also revived something more: it gave energy to alien crystals near Earth, that formed a new structure. A strong structure, capable of coming back to Earth to fulfill its revenge desires against Rayquaza... And life.

The DNA of a space virus underwent a sudden mutation upon exposure to a laser beam (probably the ultimate weapon from kalos like you said) which resulted in Deoxys. The crystalline organ on this Pokémon's chest appears to be its brain.

I feel like we need a pokemon game where we go back in time when these crazy legendaries actually lived and try to face them and challenge them rather than go against a team of villains who try to revive them or manipulate space time to do so. I mean this is a bare bones idea, but I personally think it would be cool to do that. If gamefreak were to delve into the unique stories of these legendaries, it would easily sell. Plus there are a lot of loopholes with their stories. 1 clear example is we world be able to see what Kyurem's full form would be when zekrom and reshiram were both fused. In another example we would be able to see the effects firsthand of kyogre and groudon both being awakened while rayquaza tries to stop them. If they were to do this though, it would be a huge project because they would be remaking every region's legendary, which would mean different games per region, unless if they go so far back that perhaps these continents were one, similar to how Pangea was thought to be. and if this was the case, they could even throw regigigas in the mix as he was creating the huge continent. I feel like this concept would be interesting for a Pokemon game and the fans could have a lot of fun with it. Again, just a personal idea though.

Facing Blake in Reborn for the first time with this music playing was so sick. I was so hyped. I got rid of Blake’s snowy mountain terrain for rainbow with sunny day and rain dance from my Cherrim and Lumineon. Such a beautiful combo. They really did work on him.
For anyone who hasn’t, you should try Pokémon Reborn. It’s one of my favorites for the foreseeable future and it is so deep. You won’t regret it. Just be prepared to do whatever it takes to survive in that game. So many cool strategies to try.
I agree. The best aspects of the game are characters (mostly based on those from real life) and important battles (Gym Leaders, Meteor Admins, etc.)
Practially every big battle equals different strategy to win. Brute forcing isn't mostly effective (unless the arena favors brute-forcing though, like in Samson and Ciel battles). You may win few select battles with the same team and strategy, but that's it! Only few, where there are literal hundreds of them
Great track, not sure if you played an older version but the first time this theme is encountered is Corey. I also associate this with Blake though since he 6-0d me quite a few times lol
@1020percent Yeah, that's the case in E19 as well. And I personally(so far) associate this theme with the Sigmund fight in the Orphanage. It was certainly surprising and I wasn't really prepared for it the first time, but the second time I completely destroyed him.

And personally, I think that Deoxys would be the preserver since it protected those children in the anime and it's got a Defense forme. In fact, the four formes that it have could be viewed as its ways to combat any type of situation that threatens peace. Lastly, Deoxys was a virus born through a life giving weapon which ended a war... this is more open to interpretation since there's many possibilities of what the weapon's effect had on Deoxys. Did it see the outcome of its use and vow to ensure nothing like this ever happened again; to preserve the earth? Etc...

Funny story: In one of the battles against him I had a Charizard and a Manectric out, he had a Rotom-F and a Jynx. His Rotom kept spamming thunderbolt on my Charizard even though my Manectric had Lightningrod and his Jynx used Energy Ball on 'Zard. Blake was basically a pushover, because all I had to do was attack the Pokemon next to Rotom-F with Charge Beam (and Flame Burst after several boosts) and Flamethrower. Sometimes, the AI can be very dumb, but I'm definitely not complaining in this case.
Fuck PULSE Swalot, that thing was too damn bulky with not only bullshit base Def and SpDef stats, but built in regen from Water Absorb on the tainted water PLUS he knew Recover. Had to go all the way back to the circus to have my Serperior relearn Gastro Acid to shut down his regeneration and get air balloons for all my grounded 'mons to keep them from being slowed by the terrain to finally beat it. After Eelektross's Acid Sprays brought him down to -4 SpDef, I just needed two Psychics from Meowstic to seal the deal.
AI can be very dumb sometimes, like when my Scrafty is about to kill Fern's Krookodile with High Jump Kick, then he switches to Ferrothorn. Bruh, that's not a counter.

I had to master ball him. I chucked all 23 of my ultra balls, 30+ great balls, a ton of other stuff, had him in the red, and eventually master balled him because he kept struggling then killing himself once ran out of PP.

In any form it would be a pretty equal fight. Mewtwo now having access to his X mega evolution, he can hit hard either physically or specially. That and his pretty great movepool, he can do some damage, regardless of deoxys's form.

***** With two competent players and Deoxys-A, there wouldn't be a 2HKO. If Deoxys doesn't OHKO than Mewtwo will; Deoxys' defenses are atrocious.

These two fighting would probably be the best Pokémon battle possible. They're natural antagonists and both some kind of unearthlings. Both some kind of apex predators. The artworks illustrates that perfectly. Mewtwo would struggle a lot but with his insane mental power he would mutilate Deoxys.

Would be awesome. It'd totally made sense they fight at some point considering they're some kind of "parasites" one is an alien and the other an artificial being. Lots of potential indeed. They'd break the stability of the world and Rayquaza or even Arceus would have to show up.
Y'know, most Pokémon aren't inherently bad. Gyarados is known for terrorizing and razing towns, but that's because something pisses it off due to its big temper. Ghost Pokémon absorb lifeforce from people for sustenance, it's just how they live.
Deoxys? It's a space virus with no understanding of our world, but it certainly has one thought: it hates Rayquaza.

idunno bout everyone else here, but I love the buildup, unsure of what deoxys is but, as soon as you start the battle you realize just how capable this space pokemon is. you spend the time during the battle figuring out how it works and you set your mind on catching this beast, determined you battle till you can't anymore and as the song ends you finally.. capture it

I make it a priority of mine to catch every Pokémon with a simple cheap Pokéball. I don't really have the patience for IVs and I will probably never use Deoxys. But I always want to gain some kind of satisfaction of getting every mon with what you start with:

Yeah anytime mewto uses an OP (over-powered) attack deoxys goes into defense, blocks it then speed forms mewtwo before it can defend itself or if its recharging from a hyper beam it will jump right into attack don't forget deoxys can use dark pulse and nasty plot stat boosting moves have a more dramatic affect than they do in the games
