Hi Alan, thank you so so much for your videos, they have really helped with A Level politics. I was wondering if you would ever consider covering the global politics option in videos?
Great stuff. It is pure insanity that the exam board provides two New Right thinkers with (for the purposes of this exam) basically the same views, neither of which is in the least bit useful for exemplifying neoconservatism. What a strange decision.
@@felixcordeaux9131 he's a Traditional Conservative, so actually you should use him as a point of agreement with the neoconservative strand and provide a non-core alternative thinker such as Reagan or Thatcher to exemplify the neo-conservative strand.
when analysing the agreements towards the economy - surely it would be more beneficial to just say that there are fundamental differences between conservatives which stem from different key principles (paternalism, protectionism and libertarianism) which are represented in their views towards the econonmy rather than using a weaker agreement?
In the confines of an exam and its mark scheme you want to look at both agreement and disagreement. Analysis that leads to a judgement that the areas of disagreement on the economy are much stronger than the areas pf agreement would be a good way to score points in A02 and A03.
