    The thing about fmj you can stack them deep for cheaper… and during TEOTWAWKI every bullet counts.

    if shtf, you'd better be in a TUNNEL, dug after shtf, except for the 1 hour per night needed to access a food-bucket and cook a meal. A year of that will see 99% of the population dead. This will make it MUCH safer for you to have hidden plots of peanuts and root veggies. The game and fish will all be gone in 2 months. in 3 months, the dogs and cats will all have been eaten and the cannibalism will start in-earnest. In 6 months, 90% of the population will be dead. You've got to have a year's supply of salt, powdered milk, grains and sugar scatter-buried at your BOL, which has to be in the woods around your local water source. The roads will be full of ambushes so you cant go any further and you cant us a vehicle

    In any sort of true SHTF scenario where resupply is limited or nonexistent I will always choose quantity over quality.

    I stockpile sp and hp ammo. I did 3 tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Fmj green tip di not impress me at all. It works, but as a life Long Hunter I knew there was better. I wish I would have had sp or hp when engaging hostiles. JMHO.

    Walk beside a mountain bicycle with a 30 lb pack on your back, 100 lbs of coconut oil and nut butters on the bike, and 50 lbs more of honey, medications, supplements, spices and seeds in a trailer behind the bike. Amazon sells solid rubber bicycle tires and a spring-clamp for mounting your rifle across the handlebars. Forget this firefiight bs. 90% of your 'fighting' better be subsonic 22 60 gr Aquila ammo, thru the 22 conversion unit in your shorty AR, with a 223 silencer. That will brain man, dogs, deer, and hogs to 50m and inflict (eventually) lethal torso hits to 125m. At night that's not NEARLY as big a handicap as it is in daylight. Not one man in 100 will have night vision and solar charger to keep the NOD's working. Everyone has eyes. If you've got the cached food, there is no reason at all for you to be out and about in daylight. You can't make noise have a fire in daytime, or show how a light at night. A small fire, 2 ft down in a Dakota fire pit, with a couple of ponchos around the vent hole, will send its light ONLY straight up.

    My father buys fmj up the butt crack including the 7.62 NATO 308 3-6 in bulks mind you my father is a Cold War era army vet like he goes off the deep end with it

      @FrontClipz  Před 23 dny +3

      I don’t think your father is wrong for stocking up on mass supplies of FMJ just good to have a stocked amount of premium ammo as well but in a SHTF scenario ammo is ammo 🤙

    stock pile 22's for your conversion unit, and reloading components, not expensive ammo. Definitely need a few hundred Partition Nosler 60 gr softpoins for 223. Ball ammo/reloads are for practicing UNTiL shtf, in case their price gets ridiculous or you can't buy them at all . Get set up to cast and reload 9mm. Practice slow fire precison with .177 lead pellets and fast stuff with air soft. No range fee, no travel-costs. A silenced 223 is just as tame with full powered ammo as the 22lr conversion unit is without the can being mounted. Saves you 40c per shot. casting and reloading 9mm saves you at least 12c per shot. Selling cast bullets and these savings on ammo, travel and range fees swiftly pays for this set up. A half time college loan is $3000 and there's no interest charged on it as long as yo'u're in college at least half time. You can make $50 per hour, un-taxed, for one hour per week, selling your plasma. The monthly payment on the 3k loan can be as low as $30. One year of college makes you an LPH, in demand everywhere for $20 an hour.

    Tbh I think it's best to stockpile loads of fmj. Specifically for training. 10k+ but. Having good sp or hp rounds for hunting or defensive purposes is a necessity aswell. My personal rule of thumb is 10% of my ammo is defensive or hunting

    I grabbed some .223 Hornady soft points just for smaller game. Once the funds are right then .308 will be the big game rifle but who knows when I’ll get that 😂
    Great video

    • @FrontClipz
      @FrontClipz  Před 22 dny +1

      I don’t know who’s been informing you, but you don’t necessarily need 308 to take medium to big game quality 223 higher grain bullets 70/77 grain are very effective and penetrate deep

    Economics is real, opportunity costs exist. Buy those range pack fmjs. The range is likely the only place you'll ever use them, and you still have a civilian life. There's a reason PSA is the best gun company even though it makes some pretty meh to mid guns.

    ALL ammo that I've bought over the last couple of years has been (rifle and handgun) SP, HP, Bonded SP, BTHPM, or fragmenting. SG ammo is #6 birdshot, buckshot, and slugs.

    I think some of y'all gotta get off of watching The Road on repeat and start looking at history instead. Maybe instead of making up these outrageous and contrived scenarios where the entire world is specifically out setting up ambushes to murder you after six hours without Starbucks, try looking at countries where severe balkanization and civil wars have happened, and what life was like there.
    You need to stop worrying about what specific kind of bullets you're stockpiling and start worrying about how you're going to grow enough food, filter enough water, and generate enough power to remain connected to society. Just because the trucks are a few days late restocking the grocery store doesn't mean your boss isn't still expecting your ass at work on time, or that your lender isn't going to evict your ass when you stop paying your mortgage.

    90+% of the ammo EYE want stashed for shtf is Aquila subsonic 60 gr 22 rimfire. Sure, have some regular 22's for barter (10 years down the road, maybe, by means of dead-drops and message-arrows, flags, graffiti, but you want BB gun quiet 22's for use thru the 223 silencer on the AR, with the .22lr conversion unit. You'll need the 1 in 9" rifling twist of the AR to spin-stabilize the very long Aquila 22 bullet. The 1 in 16" twist of normal 22lr barrels will NOT suffice for this ammo. The very heavy bullet exists to give you full 22lr power (from a rifle) without the sonic 'crack" of normal, supersonic 22lr ammo thru a silencer. That is, 120 ft lbs. 40 gr subsonic 22lr ammo might as well be 22 shorts, 90 ft lbs at the muzzle and a LOT less out at 50m where the heavy Aquila bullet will still brain deer, men, dogs, and hogs (temple shots) For horses and cattle, the range has to be held to 20m (temple hits only) the brain lies 3-4' above a line drawn between eyeball and earhole.

    • @iM0rb1d
      @iM0rb1d Před 19 dny

      500 yard shots may be necessary in a shtf scenario. This is about stockpiling not necessarily every day life.

    • @889976889
      @889976889 Před 15 dny +1

      @iM0rb1d who told you that? Most people will never a 100 yards let alone 500 yards. Unless you live in the middle of nowhere even then most shots are within 100 yards it’s not realistic for urban combat which is where most people live.
