- Having been withdrawn from traffic 16 years ago, the flagship locomotive of the Midland Railway Butterley, LMS Fowler 3F Jinty 16440, returns to service following an extensive 5 year overhaul, including a complete repaint into LMS Crimson Lake livery.
16440 was the last steam locomotive to be restored at Derby Works in 1973, and ran the inaugural passenger service at Butterley in 1981. She is one of three Fowler Jinty locomotives to be based at the railway, along with 47327 and 47445, the former being last 3F operational at the site, withdrawn in 2015 numbered 23 in SDJR Prussian Blue livery.

Likewise, glad you could join us! :)
LMS red is probably the nicest livery you can put on a Jinty. Is it possible the Half Cab 1F usually located at Barrow Hill will be repainted in Midland Railway red when it’s overhauled?

It's 142013, part of Butterley's home fleet
