#TrailsInTheSky #TrailsintheSkythe3rd #OniBlackMage - Hry
was not expecting the rest of the trilogy in such succession
Me neither!!
Nor was I, just coming into the series, expecting the third game to be about Kevin. A pleasant surprise.
Personally, I find this game's story to be one of the greatest feats in the series. Somehow, they managed to turn a character I had no care for into one of my favorite characters in gaming over the course of a surprisingly short story.
Also Star Door 15
Never forget star door 15
@@jorntumrongwit9056 Couldn't even if I wanted to.
@@jorntumrongwit9056 They kinda took a step back in the Crossbell games. In sky the 3rd star door 15 was clearly sex trafficking and abuse, but in Crossbell games it became
cult experiments. Relevant to the plot, but kinda undermining the impact it had in sky 3rd
It's a great story but they should of killed off a few main characters to get you more emotionally involved
should have*
Oni deserves more subscribers. These are great.
Just in time for Crossbell well done!
I love how the spacing between your "Trails in the Sky" recaps was kind of an accurate representation of what western fans felt as they waited for the sequels after "FC".
Thanks for the great recap Oni!
PS: curious if there's any specific reason you choose not to mention Renne's backstory?
Video would've maybe gotten demonitized or age-restricted.
Thank you for making the recap on the Sky trilogies, the amount of work went into these videos is mind boggling. While FC, SC and the 3rd are not the best game ever made but they are definitely beyond special in our hearts. I hope my first ever youtube comment, in over a decade, can be a show of appreciation, and hopefully a motivation for you to keep up the great work!
I'm throughly surprised a recap of Trails in the Sky The 3rd came out so soon after SC. I really enjoyed The 3rd, SC is my favorite of the Liberl Arc, but at the time of playing The 3rd, I heavily debated for some time after if it would replace SC due to how much I loved playing through it.
Although, it is regrettable you didn't mention Renne and her door. While very grim in nature, it is such deep development of her character and adds great nuance to the events that follow in Trails from Zero during their reunion. Along side how overall impactful it is for Renne and the D∴G Cults involvement into the later entries, specifically Trails to Azure, Trails of Cold Steel IV, and the Calvard Arc.
And it's hilarious how you point out how Gilbert is a failure.
Don't mind me, just dropping in to watch the video and leave my Utawarerumono Trilogy RECAPitation suggestion
29:00 what a character am I right.
I feel bad now.
Today's the day I binge on four RECAPitations that I fell behind on. I apathetically skipped over this one, thinking it wouldn't contribute anything to the story of Estelle and Joshua. While that is mostly true, I am glad to see the final summary of this chapter as I'm sure I will visit the Legend of Heroes battlefield once again in the future. Thanks for the RECAPitation, and I'll rendezvous with you on the next battlefield.
You seriously skipped out on this game? How dumb do you have to be to do that?
Thanks for making this. I could never get into the 3rd sky game. It was too combat focused, in my opinion.
Time to start the Crossbell duology.
Doing the same thing, I heard the 3rd is not worth it, so I'm here to watch the recap and exicted to jump into new chapter of the saga, Crossbell 🤩
Appreciate tf out of this as I do not have a PC and will be left in the dark once I finish SC.
Future me will be even more grateful.
YEAH, was looking forward to this!
Cool vid, Oni Black Mage. Great job! What game are you going to recap next?
Also, *poor Gilbert.* 😿😭
Amazing work, thanks to you now I'm ready to play Crossbell.
Thank you!!! Im unable to get the third game. This was very helpful!!!
Damn last time I was this early Naked snake still had his right eye
Thank you very much!
Weissmann went sephiroth mode xD
Lol bro thinks he's Sephiroth.
Ok, here's my T with Joshua and Estelle in this game, and I don't know if this is a... Hm... Difficulty in trasnlation given the ones who did the translation for the Sky was XSEED and the ones who did the Crossbell games were the Geofront then Nis, however.
They say they are in Crossbell.
The Zero game, Estelle and JOshua mentions that they saw their friends last (in the most unothordox way) three months before.
And by the time we met Estelle and Joshua, they literally have enlisted to Crossbell Bracer Branch on Chapter 1 of Zero.
So, are you saying that Estelle and Joshua stayed in Crossbell for Three months, without going to the Bracer Guild? Because I've read everything carefully so far, and they DID transfer that day, and they mention the same day they saw their friends three months back, and by the time they go toPhantasma, they say they are in Crossbell already.
It doesn't add correctly for me, especially if you think that three months of Vacation is a little too much, and that it's completelly out of character for them NOT to go to the Bracer Guild first thing, since that's their job and their main source of income. XD
End of an era, all the newer trails games never quite hit the same highs as the Trails in the Sky trilogy.
Agreed with one exception in the form of Azure. Though the final chapter kinda shat the bed, everything that led up to that point was absolute peak.
I disagree heavily. The Crossbell Duology eclipses the masterpiece that is the Sky Trilogy, and the Cold Steel Quadriology was fantastic with many high moments.
With Cold Steel IV having arguably one- if not the best endings in the franchise and one of the best in gaming that I have ever experienced.
@@thequincy_ I've only played SC 1 and 2... But your comment put me on HYPE!! I can't wait to have time to play the Crossbell and Cold Steel!!
@@thiagop3519 That's great to hear! Crossbell and Erebonia are fantastic, it's unfortunate there are some sour individuals when it comes to those entries, especially when they're made with as much passion and love as the Sky Trilogy.
I like the Crossbell games better.
Hopefully the other videos get done before I get to cold steel 3 so I know what's going on 😅
You should really just playthrough the Liberl and Crossbell Arc. They're such special and genuinely incredible experiences that honestly no review could ever replicate or truly express the greatness that those games hold.
The payout for all that time investment is paid out *handsomely* in Trails of Cold Steel IV, which acts as a grand climax to the Liberl, Crossbell, and Erebonia Arcs with all previous characters and cast returning.
I've watched this twice and still don't understand what happened...
If you played sky FC and SC, you MUST play the 3rd, it's an experience like no other. It has the best writing in the series in my opinion...
It's time to whop out the Crossbell arc since Zero is releasing soon
Will you do the Erebonia saga next?
Please do a remaster for modern console
peak fiction honestly
Please make a recap of persona 5
Seems like an odd 3rd game, taking place mostly in a weird alternate world and focusing on a pair of non-main characters from the first two games. Still a good recap for me who has only played the first two Cold Steel games.
It may not give me the emotional character connections of playing through the games, but these recaps will help me understand a bit more when I eventually get to Cold Steel 3 and 4. It was fun to point at the characters I recognized from Cold Steel and made me wonder how many connections I missed in my playthroughs.
You should just experience the Sly Trilogy and the Crossbell Duology yourself. The first-hand experience is always the better option than a recap. Trails from Zero (the first of the Crossbell Duology) is coming out tomorrow (Sep 27th), so there is plenty of opportunity to experience the incredible arcs that are all connected to CS.
And also, The 3rd is still canon, and the entire point of making Kevin the protagonist is important to the narrative, especially considering how much of a vital role the Septian Church plays in the overarching story, and playing as a Dominion, the top brass of said organization. It acts as a bridge to the future entries.
I will risk saying 3rd has the best writing in the series, and by far. It has funny, dark, painful, world building stories that were clearly given a lot of heart, and it
feels the writers felt the freedom to let loose, breaking the boundaries of a normal JRPG. If you played sky FC and SC, you MUST play the 3rd, it's an experience like no other.
As someone who’s played all the Sky and Cold Steel games, the 3rd Sky game was a big letdown for me. Just couldn’t get invested in it… mainly because of the alternate dimension hub world and side characters now being main; was surprised when all the sudden supernatural stuff kept going past the first chapter or two and all you’re doing for most of the game is picking up those yellow stones and bringing them back to the hub, over and over and over again. THEN, I found out that the 3rd Sky game was made as an epilogue and that 1 and 2 are really the “main story,” which makes sense because this felt like a spin-off more than a sequel. Probably the only time in this franchise where I haven’t felt anything for the characters.
Ain't no damn way
goat
So much effort in these videos thank you Oni you’re a legend
However the QUIZ mini game door is IMPOSSIBLE on the PSP/VITA version since those 2 NEVER left Japan and theirs no way to Pause those quizzes so a Lack of Japanese knowledge makes beating those mini game impossible luckly the Star door in the Abyss's last floor only requires to OPEN up all the other doors at least once even if you FAIL the Mini games itself from some of those doors and No I'll NEVER play the PC version of this one ever.
WOMEN LOL RIGHT FELLAS?
