Love your do's and don'ts of albergues! Remember to always say, "Buen Camino" when you pass someone! LOL Happy walking! - Michelle & Brian
Big hugs đ€ both. Thanks for the advice on the Amazon thing by the way âŠitâs finally working! đđ
Oh I had my eyes on this pilgrim walk since my university days⊠I still havenât forgotten it, one day I wanna do this!
You should. Youâll love it.
I love the name Vagabond Turtle đ
Very diplomatic Camigo. Surprised there was no mention of what is an appropriate level of clothing to wear in the dorm.
Hahaha. You know too much!! Thatâs the guy on the video (just with shorts on).
Wishing I had filmed a bit of us drinking my last beer or even the magnificent đ event. đ
Hope you are both well đ
Nice video! đđž
Thatâs kind of you. Thanks very much. đ
Camigos !!!! Love it
Still dreaming on walking my Camino.. still searching for airplane tickets.
Itâs going to keep calling you until you walk it!âŠ.and then it will call again and again đ
@@NickLivingLife oh Iâm aware, I should buy the âïž tickets and stop being a procrastinator
@@lupodlupi I would pack a backpack with what I need, walk with it every day to get lots of training inâŠ..and during one of those walk, youâll decide. Thereâs so much fun in sorting the backpack and trying things out too. đx
@@NickLivingLife The plan is to start my Camino late May 2024, but that to far away, honestly I canât wait that long , looking into at least do 10 days in Late April 2023 or 25 days in July (to hot for my liking) I donât want to rush but I donât want to wait either. If I do it in April then Iâll leave from Porto and do the portuguĂ©s way do to the logistics and time.
Thank you so much for sharing and replying to my comments. âșïž
@@lupodlupi late April is a perfect time of the year for walking (with a bit of luck ) đ
Hi Nick. Just wanted to pick your brains about charging my iPhone and Apple Watch (which I didnât have when I walked the Camino in 2014!). I will get an EU fast charger, but was concerned about leaving items on charge unattended, when in the shower for example. What did you do? Thanks
Iâm fairly trusting if I am in an albergue with just pilgrims (not young Spanish people getting acccomodation for a night out like Iâm experiencing tonight in Leon).
I have a Nitecore NB10,000 lightweight powerbank with a sticker on to identify it as mine, so if Iâm worried I can just leave that on charge unattended and use that to charge my phone and Apple Watch. In a safe albergue though, Iâll actually ask a pilgrim to keep an eye on the phone for me đ
@@NickLivingLife Thank you for the reassurance and advice Nick, most helpful and I appreciate you taking the time while on your Camino to reply. I hope you are enjoying Leon again. Iâm looking forward to your next instalment.
@@user-lv5il4zy7z itâs nice to just hang around with pilgrims again for a while and consume more calories than Iâm burning. đđ
So if there aren't private bathrooms and you aren't supposed to clip your toenails on the bed where do you clip them?
Hi Lori, mine donât grow fast enough to need to clip them during a Camino, but I treat myself to one or two private rooms over the course of a Camino so there is an option there. đ
Iâve heard some people clipping in a toilet cubicle which is a lot better then them flying like bullets across all the beds đđ
Donât wash your clothes in the shower! This is what leads to hot water running out for other pilgrims. Wash them in the laundry sink designed for that.
Donât worry Carol. This is when albergues do not have laundry sinks (not all of them do) and if I do wash them in the shower, Iâm wearing the clothes at the same time so itâs exactly the same amount of water as if I was having a shower naked. đ
Otherwise Iâll use just enough water to use my Scrubba bag. Either way, Iâm using less water than if I used the laundry sink anyway. We canât be selfish pilgrims. đ
