I've created an easier to view page of everything I've done: basshymn.blogspot.com/
Here's the bass part to 'Ave Verum' by Mozart, as it appears in the RSCM's 'The Cross of Christ.'
This is part of a new resource for church choirs of all the bass parts to everything ever!
Please contact me if you've seen this and I don't know you personally, as it would be interesting to know if anyone has used this.
Very helpful! God bless you. I had 95% of this down but after watching this video and singing with you I feel confident and ready to sing this at Mass this upcoming Sunday! Also thank you for playing the piano as well. Helps to keep in time with the sopranos. Cheers!

saving my life, got a test on this today, ty
Good luck
Man, once again I come to CZcams to seek help for learning my notes and I find your channel as lifesaving. Thank you!
No problem - yeah. I've done quite a lot of videos now but struggling to find the time at the moment ... hopefully get back to it soon!
Excellent tool to learn the bass section.
Thank you, glad to help
Thank you for sharing your gift of musical instruction. As part of my retirement life, I decided to sing in our church choir. Having little choir experience, I need more practice. Your video was a God send. Thank you.
I think you're exactly the person I was hoping to help when I started! I've done lots of videos - you can find a list here - basshymn.blogspot.com
Thanks
Brillant Bass, has helped me enormously, I have now started to learn sight reading thanks to hearing just the bass lines. Thank you
Great to hear! I have some videos with some tips on sight reading somewhere on the channel if you’re interested
Really appreciated - our choir (Leeds Phil) shall be singing this in the city centre tomorrow after only one rehearsal. My sight reading needs improving so this is excellent, thank you so much!
Thanks a lot, hope it went well!
I'm also a bit weak in the sight reading, so listening is so helpful. Thank you Basshymn.
You're the best! You are helping so much of the faithful. Blessings to you always.
You are so welcome, thank you so much!
Thank you for your support. I'm Japanese struggling on pronounciation, not only on tones. You helped me so much.
Glad to help! Make sure you do what your conductor tells you and don’t follow my pronunciation too much, I could be wrong!
Thank you very much for sharing this! It is interesting to hear just the bass part of this Mozart piece.
Glad to do it - yes, hopefully useful to people learning parts and maybe interesting for others
Byrd and Mozart - and I need both! You're the best, as always!
Ha, thank you!
Thank you Basshymn it went really well - thanks once more for making this extremely useful tutorial available
No problem, glad to hear it
No probs ... sounds like you're the kind of person I'm looking to help with my videos! I've made a list of everything I've done, including lots of the bass parts to church hymns - have a look in the video description ^ ... hope you find it helpful!
Wow ! I really love it ! I'm singing the sopran part and I occasionally pratice with some alti but never with a bass so it's really cool to have your vid ! Thanks a lot :)
This is excellent practice tool. It was so helpful to me. Keep doing the good work.
+Mbaukwu Anaba Thanks, glad you found it useful!
Needed to learn this for Sunday and I had the Byrd version in my head. Thanks for sinign with me.
Thanks a million for your soberly but very helpful recording of Mozart's famous piece. Also for other performances of a (Dutch) Bach-choir I happen to be a member of, I sometimes use your sound-tracks.
Very, very sober. So sober.
Great, thanks for getting in touch, glad it was helpful.
Thanks deeply :)
A few weeks ago I joined the Prague Choir & It helps me much !!!
---
It is basically true, that a singing voice with words helps more than just a synthetic sound as in other videos...
Excellent work that really makes sense ;-)
Hey thank you so much! Had a rehearsal tomorrow morning and not enough time to get it only from the sheet music. Your video saved my Saturday morning singing. :)
+Glaucio Santiago hey, glad to help - how did it go?
+basshymn Unfortunately our choir rehearsal was cancelled due to some unexpected change of plans. The good thing is: now l have much more time to practice from both the sheet music and your video, thanks again!
Good to hear from you! Thanks!
Thank very much to you for these tutorials, you have already won the heaven.
Very kind, thank you
Danke! Durch diesen tollen Beitrag finde ich jetzt sehr genau die Töne!
+Martin Brodicky Kein Problem, mein Freund
Beautiful piece, beautifully sung.
Am in a Perth, Australia choir singing together with three American and one Viennese choir in Vienna at Easter.
Doing this song, Mozart Requiem and Schubert's Mass in G.
It's been an enormous help listening to you sing all of these.
Parabéns!!!! Muito clara e objetiva sua apresentação, ajudou-me muito em meus estudos para canto em coral. Que Deus o abençoe e te faça, cada vez mais, feliz. Mário, Taubaté, SP, Brasil.
I've been struggling with this, so thanks a million for your help.
Thank you for this..... an excellent boost to my confidence as I tackle the line :)
Glad you found it helpful - good luck!
Very good video and channel! I´ve used it to help my mother´s madrigal choir part. Thank you very much! Keep going!
Thank you for the singing and video. It helps to have someone to practise with and find my mistakes, as well as warm up the voice. At my church it is part of the God's Friday service this year.
Muchas gracias por tu gran aporte, saludos.
Eduardo Mazza thanks

Glad to help! They will appreciate your work at home, good luck!
OK, thanks soo much, although my family probably doesn't thank you...hahaha, I've been practicing my soprano part with you for a couple of hours tonight and it's been wonderful to do the part together!

A lifesaver, indeed! Another song learned thanks to you! And you must be also a good person, because you take the trouble to reply to almost every comment. That fact speaks very well of you! Thank you!
Yes - reply to everyone except the mean people! Ha
@@basshymn oh dear. Sorry to hear there are mean replies 🙁
@@tdeo2141 ah don’t worry, only a few!
@@basshymn hello, even though you recorded it so long ago, it's still useful, you personally helped me learn it for music school, thank you, I subscribed to be able to continue learning with your help.
@@Matt_23 thank you, appreciate the subscribe, I’m uploading once a week at the moment but really my channel is best to use when you need to learn something rather than watch every upload!

Yes please to the tips on sight reading. I am the only bass in our Church Choir at the moment and so it becomes quite difficult when the Sopranos are singing and we are not all starting at the same time :)
