Hi, I hope the Visio helps you. It is a pretty easy job to do. Good luck.
      Thanks from Geoffrey

I have the same pump and same problem on my leaky Leylands. I think the different seal installed on the first lip is to have it running on fresh shaft so it will last like new and wont chop a new seal. The problem with the Leylands is now further down the line with the wear in the pins and steering pivots at the valve and ram. I think I need Pete with all the great work he has done on his IH 756 gear shift linkage.

Hi David, it’s hard to keep steering on tractors in good condition. With the speed you are traveling it never seems like a high priority.
Yes that is probably the reason for the different seal.
I was watching Pete doing all the work on the 756. He did a great job. It surprised me how many of those parts he could just buy off the shelf. The Massey 178 is the first tractor I have had that most of those harder to get parts are easily available. Having said that the new temperature gauge still doesn’t fit properly.
      Thanks from Geoffrey

Hi, I got the kit of EBay. www.ebay.com.au/itm/324068098756?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=sjWxJFQNSlC&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=FBTtRjeIQai&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY.
It seemed to have the right bits in it.
      Good luck with yours.
      Thanks from Geoffrey
