As a father of an 8 yr old autistic boy....my son has taught ME so much...he Is my world, my little man can't imagine life without him....this woman needs to pay for her actions.

I was a single Dad with a son with CP. Worked 3 jobs and cared for my son. Had to feed, dress, toilet, bathe, etc.. Never once thought of leaving him to someone else. This is sickening.

In the 1970s it was quite rare for a single person to be approved for adoptions. If I were younger (almost 72), and in better health (inop brain tumor), I would definitely apply to adopt him. I never married and due to medical reasons I couldn't have children. Life isn't meant to be easy - life is a learning experience. I imagine that sweet boy has much to share and teach others.

It has been said "Actions speak louder than words." This woman leaves 2 of her children at a friend's house but dumps her 6 year old on a road. She never wanted to see him again. She needs to be locked-up so we don't see her again.

My ex husband did this to my daughter (17 years). Through indifference and fraud he had custody. His motivations for custody-he was spiteful and he didn't want to pay $125 a month child support. He drove her 20 miles from their home and when he stopped he told her to get out. She will soon turn 39 & has done well for herself. She has one college degree and has worked toward a second one. She's been married 16 years and has well loved kids . Neither she nor her older sister have seen him since. Through the grapevine we heard he was homeless and living in an rv . Both my girls have done well despite him being an as$hole. I'm very proud what they've done with their lives.

Unlike many others in here my first thought was that mother must be suffering from a psychiatric episode, but then reading about the boy being autistic I thought that perhaps she was overcome with the caring aspect. I also wondered if she was receiving adequate support in her caring role. Not the first time we have heard of carers that have buckled under the strain is it. It is a sad story. Just a relief the boy was found before coming to harm. Hope the mother gets the treatment and care she needs also.
As a mother with an autistic son and it’s hard damn hard ! Never ever in my wild thoughts did I come up with abandoning my child anywhere , let alone just on the side of the road !!!! Disgusting
I have a 20 year old non verbal autistic son and this breaks my heart on so many levels. Caring for a disabled child is very mentally taxing and also very rewarding. If she needs mental help I hope she can get it, but to abandon her child and leave her other children with a friend is not the way to cope. God bless all involved 🙏🏽

Unfortunately as parents we don’t get a break or psychiatric help. It’s 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I saw the child and he is adorable. It’s obvious that he had not been given proper autism care or proper nutrition. He has a facial injury. He needs a good home and good care. One misstep & he could have been stuck by cars.

When I was growing up in the 1950's, many a time someone's mother would scream and take off down the road. We all got quiet as we watched her disappear. A neighbor or grandparent or father would appear and take over. It was such a relief when we would see her come back, being led by the hand. There were a lot of kids in those days.
This woman needs a step ladder to reach a slugs belly! Abandoning a 6 year old, on the side of a road, in the rain and the child has autism. I’m genuinely in tears, my ex had three wonderful children on the spectrum and I’ve spent much of the last 22 years working with people affected by it. This also begs the question where was his father? Perhaps he’s already abandoned him with this POS.
Unfortunately, in many cases where parents have a child with ASD, one or both parents can't cope with the demands of the child's needs and split up. It takes a lot of love and strength. The way I see it is the lord gave you that child for a reason. It's because you are supposed to have the love, strength, and perseverance to raise that child. Blessings to that little boy.
In most cases the woman kicks the man to the curb, makes it difficult to impossible for the man to see his children and milks it for all the money she can get.

As heartbreaking as this story sounds, this is what many people go through. Being abandoned by others emotionally, physically and mentally. As challenging life is, it's easier to take on that challenge with support and commradery. Avoid the easy way out by abandoning life's challenges, remember the goal is to better ourselves, our thinking, our compassion for one another and ourselves.

But I can't seem to stop my self!!I go cold thinking of this little boy and how he would be feeling as my son is 3 and non verbal autistic and to no how life is for him and if he didn't have me or his dad he wouldn't do anything . People need to step up and I say it nicely I suffer from eupd and depression but my life its to now make sure my sons live there lives . I have to maintain my mental health to be able to care for them and god do I as I will never see anyone look after my boys as they are safe with me . That's how people should be or if you can't cope ask for help or take your child somewhere they are safe . Until your better or if not then other plans would be made. Don't do this 😫 these poor children 😢 😞

In the 1970s it was quite rare for a single person to be approved for adoptions. If I were younger (almost 72), and in better health (inop brain tumor), I would definitely apply to adopt him. I never married and due to medical reasons I couldn't have children. Life isn't meant to be easy - life is a learning experience. I imagine that sweet boy has much to share and teach others.

She could have surrendered him to children's services, she could have left him with the same person she left her other children with. My ex husband did this to my daughter (17 years). Through indifference and fraud he had custody. His motivations for custody-he was spiteful and he didn't want to pay $125 a month child support. He drove her 20 miles from their home and when he stopped he told her to get out.
She will soon turn 39 & has done well for herself. She has one college degree and has worked toward a second one. She's been married 16 years and has well loved kids . Neither she nor her older sister have seen him since.
Through the grapevine we heard he was homeless and living in an rv .
Both my girls have done well despite him being an as$hole.
I'm very proud what they've done with their lives.
Your girls need to look him up and give him hell for his petty actions.
As a mother of a non verbal child this same age I've been crying since I read this. I wish I could take that baby and show him love

Unlike many others in here my first thought was that mother must be suffering from a psychiatric episode, but then reading about the boy being autistic I thought that perhaps she was overcome with the caring aspect. I also wondered if she was receiving adequate support in her caring role. Not the first time we have heard of carers that have buckled under the strain is it. It is a sad story. Just a relief the boy was found before coming to harm. Hope the mother gets the treatment and care she needs also.

I have a 20 year old non verbal autistic son and this breaks my heart on so many levels. Caring for a disabled child is very mentally taxing and also very rewarding. If she needs mental help I hope she can get it, but to abandon her child and leave her other children with a friend is not the way to cope. God bless all involved 🙏🏽

Unfortunately as parents we don’t get a break or psychiatric help. It’s 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I saw the child and he is adorable. It’s obvious that he had not been given proper autism care or proper nutrition. He has a facial injury. He needs a good home and good care. One misstep & he could have been stuck by cars.
He is practically a twin for my grandson. I would love to adopt him but I'm thinking there's going to be about a million requests.

When I was growing up in the 1950's, many a time someone's mother would scream and take off down the road. We all got quiet as we watched her disappear. A neighbor or grandparent or father would appear and take over. It was such a relief when we would see her come back, being led by the hand. There were a lot of kids in those days.
This woman needs a step ladder to reach a slugs belly! Abandoning a 6 year old, on the side of a road, in the rain and the child has autism. I’m genuinely in tears, my ex had three wonderful children on the spectrum and I’ve spent much of the last 22 years working with people affected by it. This also begs the question where was his father? Perhaps he’s already abandoned him with this POS.
Unfortunately, in many cases where parents have a child with ASD, one or both parents can't cope with the demands of the child's needs and split up. It takes a lot of love and strength. The way I see it is the lord gave you that child for a reason. It's because you are supposed to have the love, strength, and perseverance to raise that child. Blessings to that little boy.
In most cases the woman kicks the man to the curb, makes it difficult to impossible for the man to see his children and milks it for all the money she can get.

I pray this doesn’t turn out to be one of those situations where CPS decides it’s best to keep the family intact. PAY ATTENTION ALL CPS EMPLOYEES: That is NOT always best. Children must be protected from “parents” like this!!
As heartbreaking as this story sounds, this is what many people go through. Being abandoned by others emotionally, physically and mentally. As challenging life is, it's easier to take on that challenge with support and commradery. Avoid the easy way out by abandoning life's challenges, remember the goal is to better ourselves, our thinking, our compassion for one another and ourselves.

But I can't seem to stop my self!!I go cold thinking of this little boy and how he would be feeling as my son is 3 and non verbal autistic and to no how life is for him and if he didn't have me or his dad he wouldn't do anything . People need to step up and I say it nicely I suffer from eupd and depression but my life its to now make sure my sons live there lives . I have to maintain my mental health to be able to care for them and god do I as I will never see anyone look after my boys as they are safe with me . That's how people should be or if you can't cope ask for help or take your child somewhere they are safe . Until your better or if not then other plans would be made. Don't do this 😫 these poor children 😢 😞

A ticket not paid as in a traffic violation? Meanwhile citizens with outstanding traffic citations can renew registration. What if annual registration and license renewal were connected to violations and payment of citations was required as part of the process?
