Hi!...I have a coin exactly like that one. From 1917 mint in Philadelphia. But unfortunately is pretty worn. It's a really beautiful coin. Thanks for the video!
Very nice information. I did take objection to your calling coins in that condition "Junkie Junk." Not everyone can offord top end condition and are very happy to have coins this old in affordable condition.
Adolf's coin designs are my absolute favorite coin designs, probably the best thing any Adolf has ever done, but the 1916 S is my favorite WLH, I love the obverse mint mark and that it's San Francisco low mintage, first-year. Awesome coin! Those coins aren't junky junk either I've seen way worse examples, you got to remember these coins were not collector coins they were highly circulated and very low mintage with the 1945 P being the highest mintage of only 35 million if I recall correctly.
The design was inspired by her French gorgeous older couterpart, the Sower. She is very famous in France (we say "Semeuse" in French) and she seeds as giving a hope that France could be flourishing through the ages. I have a pretty good number of Sower coins but I have only one Walker (1918-S)😥
Believe it or not, Adolph Weinman based the Walking Liberty half dollar on a French coin, the "Sowing Marianne" 5 franc. Yeah, Barber was not happy with his role as coin designer being taken away by other artists. He really hated Augustus St. Gaudens and James Earle Fraser.
I really do admire St. Gaudens' work... It's just a little childish that Barber was such a baby about it! Thanks for stopping by man - I appreciate it!
Yes, Thank you so much. I have it with my first bar I got from Silver Diva. It is very nice. I still can't believe they both had the same number on them. What are the odds of that?

I agree with you but I really wanted at least one tube of the walking liberties 🪙
Nice video, thanks for the history.
I had no idea...about this drama. Watching over a year later. I don't care for the Barber design, it looks ancient, like a Roman coin.
Good description of the Barber. It does look Roman

At 10:01 in this video you say that this design was used for the 2016 gold eagle? Is that accurate?
