    A lungfish spends each dry season asleep underground, waiting for the waters to arrive before emerging. As the waterhole dries up at the end of the wet season, it will bury down to spend the dry season safely cocooned in the mud.

    For all those creationists looking at "transitional fossils"... this is the clip to watch. For one there are no "transitional" creatures per se, only creatures that adopt to their environment and successfully reproduce. There is no directional development towards something, only small, gradual adaptions based on the creatures present genetic make-up. The lungfish is not "stuck" on a development path but good enough adapted to its environment to successfully reproduce. But the lungfish shows how the transition happend from a fully aquatic creature to one that gradually adapts to a terrestrial life. Breathing atmospheric air, developing limbs for landbased locomation, developing features for surviving in dry conditions.

    • @SirDadbod
      @SirDadbod Před 3 dny

      Or its been doing that method of survival simply because it was created that way..There is no proof that it had less or more capability than the current one being shown. And to top it off. If one or two or three types of fish can do it...they all should have been able to by now since its literally perfected the art of living that way.

    • @omnivorous65
      @omnivorous65 Před 3 dny

      @@SirDadbod You should try getting at least a basic understanding of what evolution is and how it works before you argue against it. The argument you put forward: "... If one or two or three types of fish can do it...they all should have been able to by now since its literally perfected the art of living that way." unfortunately demonstrates your complete ignorance in this matter. It is simply a variations of the argument "if humans evolve from apes why are there still apes around?" Maybe this will help you to comprehend the utter stupidity of that argument: If dogs evolved from wolves, why are there still wolves around? First of all, they are, which means something is wrong with your reasoning based on observation alone. Second, evolutionary adaptations happen in relation to your local environment. If some members of a species are exposed to different environmental conditions (co-live with humans) than others, they adapt accordingly. Populations that are not exposed to that environment do not change.
      Applied to fish: Some fish live in environments inhabit a habitat that is short on oxygen dissolved in water. So they adapt by evolving breathing that allows them breathing atmospheric air. Which puts some on the path to become terrestrial creatures. That does not mean - and this is important - all fish need to go that path, that it is their "purpose" to become terrestrial creatures. For tunas living in the high sea in oxygenated water, there is no advantage in being able to breath atmospheric air. So, why the f*ck "should they all have been ablet to do by now"?

    • @SirDadbod
      @SirDadbod Před 2 dny

      @@omnivorous65 ok ill give u a great one...in order to trust in the evolution concept..it requires you to accept the notion that a 2000 pound block of mixed metal flying thru space,with enough time will become a bmw that doesnt even run...because the processes that it takes for that to happen arent even close to the amount of process taking place in a human body every second..nor are they statistically present for any living cell to come from any non living element...

      sorry that's not Evolution that is creation once again
      Evolution didn't happen because this fish is not supposed to stay a fish, it's supposed to develop or evolve into a reptile!
      All life was created with the same seed inside of it to reproduce the same species, as this one has
      Anything that keep the lie going but guess what!
      Evolution didn't happen, it's a fraud

Adults scuttle, burrow between waves, and used the danger of stranding as an aquatic defense, I hypothesize.
