CL500 a better option than the old S Class...still looks sharp today
LEXUS GS300! The inline 6 engine is bulletproof its one of the smoothest and best sounding engine ever! Plus it's 2JZ engine has lots of tuning potential for making great power. I own a 20 years old GS300 and it's been the most reliable car I ever own. It's very comfortable, and spacious and the build quality is very nice as well. No rattle, the interior hold up nicely, as long you do your engine/transmission oil change timing belts and lower ball joints it will last you for a very long time. There's ton of aftermarket supports and part available in the market so you have lots of available resources. Like I said that 2JZ is robust and durable especially it you don't turbo and just leave it stock your not putting no strain and stress on the durable iron block
Not having the older Lexus LS on this list is a mistake. The Lexus LS430 is now affordable luxury that still runs.

Range Rover hit the price vs luxury balance just right in my opinion, with the added bonus of their offroad capabilities. Reliability isn't the strong point, but in the luxury market on the whole it never really is.
Only problem is real "Off-road" use leads to scratches & scrapes...splashing through some puddles & off pavement is not true "Off-roading."
Yes, I agree with your order JB and I would go with the Maybach if I had the money. The dark horse here in my opinion is the Cadillac. I have had the pleasure in riding in one and it drives and rides in a very luxurious way. Anyone who buys a Bentley or Rolls circa £10k wants their heads tested. The Jag is my realistic favourite but a Phaeton would not draw quite so much attention. Enjoyed this video, thanks JB.
Old luxury barges are rarely cheap to run because parts are expensive. If you can find a good specialist to look after it and maintain it well that will help. I have a 2005 XJ Sovereign 3.0 V6 and I love it doesn't cost too much to run but, not a daily driver for me. Engines on these are bullet proof and aluminium body so will last years if looked after.
I've got a 2008 X type sovereign 2.2d as a daily flies though mots been very reliable most money I've spent on it were on discs and pads

Every fibre of me wants to say the jag as it was the first car I owned but at the same time I’ve always loved Range Rovers so it would probably have to be the Range Rooney
Bentley for me, Maserati I adore despite the poor newer cars they make and reliability

All jokes aside, love your work JB, my favorite brand has to be Mercedes as I’ve had a W203 C230K 6-speed and currently a W203 C32 AMG, both amazing cars and have been more reliable than a compatible BMW or Audi
No.1 luxury brand for me is easy but only based on how I'd judge it. Most luxurious is Rolls. Most luxurious that's somewhat affordable is Merc since used S Classes are cheap to buy, plus there's the Maybach version.
However, why would I buy a luxury car? To be as relaxed as possible when I get to my destination. Therefore it's Lexus, because there's nothing relaxing about constantly having to fix any of the other brands' luxury cars. Even an LS isn't top tier when it comes to actual luxury but the real reason I loved that L10 GS450h so much was because it's the best stress relief machine on the planet- either by being comfy and relaxing or taking it all out on the tyres, all while knowing no amount of abuse was going to result in a repair bill 😄
Edit: The mic to shout at poor people is a feature I need on my next car, right up there with any EV I own playing TIE fighter sounds. If I had £50k I wouldn't touch the Maybach, but if I had a couple of million I'd probably pick one up, along with 3-4 other cars and the same number of houses...
Number one luxury brand for me (as a Brit) is Aston Martin. I have been fortunate enough to own one.

my fav in this list is the Jag XJ-looks great, nice interior (to me) & its a jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag. BOOM!
2nd place for me tho is the Quattroporte... even tho the transmission (the weird F1-paddle thing) & electricals r unreliable

The Bentley Eight and Mulsanne were based on the Silver Shadow (As was the Silver Spirit) but styled to look much larger than the Shadow. Lovely cars but very expensive to maintain.
Lexus are the best I got the gs450h 2009
A good few years ago I had a Maserati 4200. It was relatively luxurious, especially for a sporty GT. The crazy thing is, I now have a diesel estate that's quicker 0-60 than the Maserati was! It's a BMW 335d, and in all fairness it's almost as luxurious as the Masa was, but it's infinitely more practical, especially if you have dogs (we have a lot of dogs!!).

Great work! I do enjoy your videos very much! Just a general thing i've noticed in some of your recent clips: please articulate your words better? There's something you say around 26/27 second mark where it just sounds like a jumble of words. I don't care if the info isn't relevant to me (viewer from South Africa), scrambled words are more irritating to the ear than irrelevant info - and having to skip back again. Please talk a little slower. You have such a wealth of info to share with such a good overall impression w.r.t. videos, but it loses my interest if there's literally zero time to process the info you relay: you already know (and have processed) what you want to say but we are hearing it for the first time. Just keep that in mind. Otherwise, great videos!

I'm very far from poor, but not a millionaire, but my car looks like I'm a millionaire to 99% of the population. I'm always getting stopped and asked about it. I'm 28 and have a 2013 Bentley continental supersport. it's ridiculous, over 2 tons and stupidly fast. the relatively low purchase price makes the terrible fuel economy not seem as bad. never has a car made me so happy. this or a new m2? lol not even close!
The M2 is a true sports car, unlike the Bentley, which is a GT. Your Bentley trumps it in terms of status though ...

Very odd to put Rolls Royce in tenth, JB. Arguably as a brand, Rolls is more prestigious than Maybach. And Bentley in NINTH behind Audi and Lexus?
You are completely wrong for decades Mercedes Benz and BMW have been classified as Luxury cars. It is quite insulting as the truth is Mercedes Benz was dominating Rolls Royce and Bentley who were both almost bankrupt before bring purchased by BMW and VW. Without that purchase there would be no RRs or Bentleys today. As you need a history lesson you should be aware that originally in the early 1900s Maybach was positioned above Rolls Royce and Bentley. Maybach competitor was Bugatti and both of these were several times the price of the more pmebian Rolls & Bentleys.
While the VW Phaeton isn't really a car from a luxury brand, i think i'd choose it over an A8.
