No there was no bias, all hits were called fine, but obviously they weren’t getting applause as it was in hungry not Korea, I thought common sense was still a thing sadly not

Amazing match from start to finish. Two top teams led by the olympic champion and the world champion. My hats off to both teams. Any one of them would've been a winner on any given day. What could be the greatest saber team match of all time was ALMOST ruined by the exceptionally poor mannerism by the crowd and the commentators' strong bias in favor of the Hungarians. Note the commentators language and the tone of voice all cheered for their favorite, the Hungarians, to win. They should be ashamed. I hope FIE did not pay for these commentators. If they did, FIE should be ashamed as well. FIE should do a better job of selecting commentators based on the strong knowledge of BOTH competing sides without bias.

@@garchompdude There's multiple coaches who have run this program since 2008 or so: Lee Wookjae (coach for London 2012, now the coach of the Japanese women's sabre team), Lee Hyokun (coach for Rio 2016, now running a private club in Texas) and Yu Sangju (the current head coach).

@@meloveu Not booing the korean fencer but the judgments. The really rude is that so many racist, insulting comments can be read below a video of a sporting event, just because the fans have been supporting their own team.
@@meloveu 상대팀을 야유하기 보다는 심판을 향해 비난을 했을 확률이 높아요.. 그리고 잘 한 행동은 아니지만 헝가리 분들 뿐만 아니라 우리 나라를 포함한 다른 나라들도 야유를 보내요 본국에서 하는 경기이니 그런 점은 감안해야해요 물론 다시 말하지만 잘 한 행동은 아니죠

그리고 우리나라 야구리그 경기 할 때도 상대팀이 도루견제구 던질 때마다 해당 팀 팬들이 있는 힘을 다해 야유하는거 아주 흔히 있는 일이구만.

This was one of the best matches I’ve seen! As a new fencer I love the Korean style but I don’t know how well it translates for noobies.
Well if you have amazing biometrics then you'll be fine. For those of us who aren't Mr. Fantastic, I wouldn't recommend trying to be Korean without really harnessing your basics. Master the footwork and the distance. Then you can worry about pushing your limits.
As long as you’re 6 ft 3in tall with the flexibility of a world class gymnast and the speed and agility of Captain America then the Korean style will totally translate 😂

He was not clearly against Hungary, he just did his thing.
The crowd was unfair towards Koreans because this competition was in Hungary. It should be obvious when you are the team of guests then you will be booed by the fans of home team. But despite of that South Koreans did an amazing job and They were better.

How well are caucasians regarded in sports like Traditional Korean Archery? I imagine there'd be some tension and distrust in the community if it were more popular or an Olympic sport. All races and ethnicities are elitist when it comes to pride in their own culture, some of it is unnecessary but it's also needed to preserve culture. I'm not going to accept "Europeans are kind of racist in general" as a statement, because it is itself racist, and therefore a very stupid way of thinking.
Obviously there shouldn't be racism in any sport. The commentators seemed quite fair to me, many compliments were given to both sides.

It is really uncomfortable to hear the audience booing. Those poeple don't seem to have any manners which the audience should have. It is natural to shout for joy of scoring to their homeland players, but it is rude for opponents to boo and hiss every time they get the points. Please show some respect and the manners!

One of the most intense and exciting match I have ever seen!! The last round Oh is not as good as usual, his attack is not fierce enough. Gemesi and Deci both did much better than I expected, and caused a great preasure to Korean successfully. Korea team used many young guys, it is good because Korean Team are willing to take risk to train new generations in final match.
Oh's always less sharp in the last round. In the finals of 2018, he also wasn't really on his best.
@@ryanwaasdorp in 2017 Leipzig WCH Final, he did pretty good job against Szilagyi in the last round.
It's not only about Oh, it's about his enemies as well. Italy (well, mostly Curatoli) in 2018 Wuxi and Hungary in 2019 Budapest did better job than Hungary in 2017 Leipzig.
you also got to remember, oh is fencing the best fencer on the other team in the last leg. After countless tournaments of domination by the Korean team , it would only made sense that they have studied Oh and have moves in place to counter the stuff he does. You can tell that aron had a plan coming into the final against oh. He let oh consistently commit first and after oh got uncomfortable to attack, aron attacked himself.

Much respect to the Korean athletes for winning with composure! As a viewer, it was very clear that the commentators were favoring the Hungarians. They sound very excited every time whenever the Hungarian scores, which is why it was so laughable how their energy dropped when the Koreans maintained their lead and WON. These Asians were clearly the better athletes than the Europeans in this match.

Anyone who thinks this is a bad crowd is part of the reason fencing will continue to stay as an irrelevant sport in the mainstream. Hungary had the home turf advantage, of course the crowd is gonna be wild for them. This type of crowd breathes life into the match and was exciting to see. Does it help the Hungarian team and mess with the opposing teams energy, YES that’s why it’s called “HOME ADVANTAGE”. Geez god forbid some of you ever go to a real sports event. Hell even a college fencing event.

I was there and I’m being honest I didn’t hear anyone saying racist stuff (obviously this was a huge match to us bc it was at Hungary and Hungary fenced and we cheered like everyone else would) and it was one of the best days of my life but everyone just keeps saying rude stuff in the comments like “the crowd this and that” like that’s annoys me so much and we even cheered for Korea when they won after that so like think before comment

@@yulebinpark9701 Yes, there was an unusually large crowd in the hall. There were also people who rarely go to fencing competitions (since they held a World Championship in Hungary a very long time before that) and maybe they were used to supporting other sports. And in other sports, booing is very common when they disagree with the referee’s verdict. ( Because whatever Koreans are so easily accusing others about here, Hungarians were not booing Korean fencers, but the judgments.)

可以理解在自己家门口接受挑战时的焦虑心情，但是布达佩斯市民的表现实在是.......这次比赛太多争议了，Aron不愧一代王者，非常有风度，如果我在赛场上，有几剑的判罚我是忍受不了的....但同样，韩国的年青一代已然崛起，整场比赛紧张刺激，绝对是教科书级别的“表演赛“ ，恭喜韩国队，同时向匈牙利队致敬，一场伟大的顶级赛事。（PS.目前视频裁判技术真的需要更新了,2019年都结束了！！！！能不再用这种老旧过时的鹰眼了吗？？？？？）
