- Ida Zetterström, of Finland, sets new FIA European records for the quickest and fastest top fuel dragster in the semi-final of The Main Event with 3.773 seconds at 321.01 mph.

The difference in terminal speed is incredible considering there was only fifteen hundredths of a second between them at the finish line. Awesome show all weekend.
Sometimes, a driver clicks off early or maybe drops a cylinder. Each cylinder makes close to 1500 horsepower. This past weekend in Bristol, Tennessee Leah Pruett was the #1 qualifier in Top Fuel. She ran 320 mph. Brittany Force was #2 qualifier a couple hundredths slower in elapsed time, but ran 334 mph.
Nitro racing is quite an interesting thing!

1000ft these days which is a shame. Would love to see top fuellers run over the quarter mile.
@@PODWHEELS Been coming to the Pod since the ‘70’s, the evolution in all classes of car and bike has been astonishing. The tragic fatal accidents in the US that led to the reduction in track length for fuel classes has only pushed the teams to develop more powerful machines that are now achieving 330mph in 1000 instead of 1320 feet. I suppose the key safety benefit is the extra 320 feet of stopping distance that has been gained.
