My wife and I (from Scotland) stayed at The Barracks last year in a pool room and had an amazing time. Relaxing, good cocktails, fantastic room and top service (great shitting area too 😉 ). Actually we didnt, haha i did come across it but it was either Hard Rock or Hotel Michael for me! But totally see where you are coming from and yes, pictures of the pool look great! Hopefully we can stay there too haha
