Thanks A LOT for making this video...the LED center panel on our '09 G8 developed a *huge* dead spot in the middle and required us to replace the entire instrument cluster...your video helped us avoid breaking several hard-to-replace parts--which are now even *more* brittle with age--so we appreciate this walkthrough a ton!
Excellent video. I have a 2006 Holden Commodore in Sydney Australia. These are the same as your Pontiac. The cluster is the same. I received a secondhand cluster today for AU$80. Thanks to your video, it looks super easy to put in. I'll do that in a day or two. In regard to a comment below about programming, the Odometer data is stored in the Cluster itself. In later model cars it is stored on the computer. My cluster stopped showing mileage a few years ago, so I had to look for a used cluster with close to the mileage I was giving to the RTA. Otherwise, I would have needed to send my old cluster along with my new (used) cluster to a place where they would copy (or reprogram) the Odometer readings over.
How come you needed programmes??? My odometer stopped working and I've had dealerships try and reboot it but they just charged me and said they don't know
I just installed mine now ive got an abs fault and my stability control is permanently off 😅 now ive gotta figure out why because my old cluster didnt show an abs fault on my car before i pulled it out 😅
If you were to recommend a year to look for most what model year you suggesting ? I’m very limited in my choices on line rn around the Los Angeles area. But really looking for this car rn
@@everythingcapriceppv2320 I have only 4 on listing rn I’m in north La county and can’t find any more been searching non stop don’t know where they’re hiding. 😩
@@everythingcapriceppv2320 yeah I really liked the dash on the new gen but wouldn’t mind either But new would probably be preferable. Scared I’m about to miss out on one of these things

The 14-17 is more modern but 11-13 has more mods. Depends on what you’re trying to do. There’s a lot near you in southern Cali

@@everythingcapriceppv2320can I get your email?
Mine doesn’t have a clip on the thingy
Strange. I thought all clips had thingys.
@@paulrichards2365 You got it backwards--not all clips have thingys, but all thingys have clips. Easy mistake to make.
