- NERF hasn't had the best year, but man does Prime Time Toys keep hitting it out of the park with a grand-slam play of amazing blaster options this summer. The Spectrum is a semi-auto mag fed flywheel blaster... but taken to it's logical conclusion. All the fat trimmed, the performance boosted to appropriate levels, and ergonomics on-point with tons of customization options for a $25 price tag just make this a no-brain must buy unless you hate good things.
Blaster provided free from Prime Time Toys for review, but did not impact my opinions whatsoever. Available at Walmart.

Bor Gullet... can read your thoughts. No mod is safe. The unfortunate side effect is one tends to lose one's mind... trying to open our blasters to repair them.

I cant think of a correct analogy to say how dz/af has somewhat cheaper production as the trade off
The older blasters were always the best, like the Sledgefire, in terms of looks and performance
I mean, nerf does have good options. Their rival line is good, but other companies are starting to step up and surpass nerf

@@A-G-F- yes, but it *is* a major factor to how far a Dart can and will go. the point I'm making is that Nerf advertises Ultra Blasters as these high performance, high distance blasters...but they barely crack Elite Distances, if that. Meanwhile Adventure Force undersells their distance, and yet can get Elite Distances (and a fair bit more if you angle it) for like...half the price Nerf would charge for the same blaster.

At this point, Hasbro has no right to put the words: "Number 1 Blaster Brand" on the boxes of Alpha Strike blasters anymore. Dart Zone AND X-Shot are outclassing, outperforming, and over delivering Nerf by a long shot. (no pun intended)
I think Alpha Strike is dead. I don't think there's anymore releases.

I dont know about anyone else, but I can see someone making 3d printed kits for this blaster, just like they do with the stryfe
Maybe. That's the thing the Stryfe has going for it: all the 3d printed parts and materials. It's still a better blaster to mod for sure... but the Spectrum hits harder than many lightly-modded Stryfes.
Just give the market a little time and I'm sure we'll have oodles of aftermarket parts available. :D
@@WalcomS7 honestly the stryfe had the kits, if you just want a super stock flywheeler the swordfish is a better option for a lot of modders

The internals of the spectrum are terrifyingly simple!
If the other blasters are home runs, this one is a grand slam!

It's interesting to me that both Nerf and Dart Zone are remaking old Nerf blasters with the idea of making them better.
It's even more interesting to me that Dart Zone is the only one actually improving on the old bases, while Nerf is improving almost nothing but how much criticism they can draw at one time.

Dart Zone blasters have become so competitive now that there's almost no reason to buy Nerf anymore. It feels like Prime Time Toys is saying, "Your move, Hasbro."
Only reason to buy Nerf now is because it's a lot more recognizable. As much as I hate it, Nerf is more readily available in the market that Dart Zone outside the West, and online shipping is shit.

I really hope we get plenty of cosmetic mod options for the Spectrum going forward I'd love to have an MP5 styled spectrum.

I love how this is the first mag fed flywheeler that prime time toys has released, yet it’s already better than every single flywheeler that Hasbro has released.

Im hoping blasters like this at the Nexus pro will be a wakeup call to Nerf that they cant keep sacrificing quality to save pennies per blaster and not also give us good performance from the box. They need to start giving us Rival performance in their dart blasters, and not just glued shut re-shells and a "premium" line with a little gold paint and cheap proprietary ammo noone likes.
The only reason nerf is alive is because of its marketing after you take that away it’s game over

Nope, mold it into the plastic shell, then plastic weld the parts together so there's no taking it out.

When you just did your first stryfe mod, re-wired with honey-badgers and get 95ish and this comes along stock at 110 geez ahahaha

This product is gonna be a HUGE problem for hasbro, I literally waited all day for my blaster to show up and I spent majority of the night having a total blast with the blaster. HUGE recommend 12/10

I got a 200 FPS nexus pro and a cut down spectrum and it blended perfectly, honestly only a modded stryfe could compete

Hey all new to foam game here. Id like to switch the battery in the Spectrum to a rechargeable battery, but I dont want to take the FPS any higher, because I shoot these with my kids..is this possible?

The spectrum should've been a blaster were you could hook it up to the wifi but it was only compatible with spectrum wifi but since spectrum wifi is bad it jad a lot of issues

The fact that this thing and the Phoenix came out at the same time is like two trains colliding. It's a massive coincidence, but feels like something there was deliberate because it's too perfect of timing.
How powerfull wil it be with eurospec duracells, since these have not as much power as usspec...

If you had two stocks, from this blaster and another one, would you be able to stack two of the tube sections to make a longer stock? It kind of looks like it is possible.
I think that’s amazing the only improvements I could think of would be a flared Magwell, 2 mags included with every mag fed product or double darts. Aside from that Dart Zone is killing it with these fantastic blasters. Keep up the good work!

The question is could you shoot half-length thoughts out of that it out of the Nexus Pro convertible
This gun’s mag release reminds me a lot of a Kalashnikov style rifle or a Heckler & Koch mag release, kind of a nice touch on most dart zone blasters that are mag fed, to kind of tie it to the world of firearms

I bought the spectrum yesterday at Walmart here in Canada and it was the last one they had on the shelf and they also had the sportsman, rebel mech and the turbine which is a little more expensive then the states and all had me tempted to buy but I decided on the spectrum.
If this is 100fps with AAs what can it do with a lipo?

I had some issues with the motor bogging down when I didn’t even go as fast as I could, admittedly I had a red spectrum not the green one, perhaps there’s a difference in their flywheels or something.
Also I don’t know if this was included but you can rev without the magazine being in the blaster

This thing is a monster when it comes to competitive nerf. I love modding but in some games they don’t allow modding. It’s perfect for people who love magazines and semi auto systems. I prefer the dart zone tomahawk because I’m a scavenger and I don’t run any tacticool gear. But for the specific game type, it’s perfect.
You looked to have trouble getting the magazine slotted into the well. Might that bode poorly for a quick tactical reload?

This was the video that i found walcom through i bough the spectrum at walmart (this was in 5th grade on the weekend) and I looked up reviews on the gun im so glad i found this channel I get happy whenever he uploads im gonna be a seventh grade next school year cuz its currently summer it has been a magical 2 years walcom I hope you read this one day.
This is one of the only reviews I've seen that gets perfect marks. A+ range is only a small percent of blasters but well done Adventure Force. And a big thanks to Walcom for making such quality content for so many years! We all enjoy these videos Walcom! Keep it up :D

Recently bought the nexus pro to begin into the hobby and start modding, and I’ll be getting one of these in the next day or so as well. Can’t beat the value they’re putting out. Great review as well!
I just opened my spectrum, and Dart Zone put a Hybrid pusher in the spectrum.... if you load 1/2 darts in a standard mag in the foreward part of it, it should work (theoretically)
