    This video, gave me the confidence, to cook a steak on the griddle. I'm a grill and smoker guy, that has recently started to griddle. My family will agree, that steaks on the griddle are amazing. I thoroughly enjoy your channel. I've been binge watching. Keep up the great work. God bless you and your family.

    Picked up a 22 inch version the other day specifically to use for our RV. Had no idea how versatile these grills are. I consider myself to be a pretty good cook in the kitchen and on a charcoal or gas grill but the griddle is new to me. My wife is a COVID nurse and has really been working hard lately. I’m writing this in the first week of July and the second wave of COVID is in full swing. I’m going to make her this steak dinner tonight when she comes home her shift. I’ve found your blackstone videos to be top notch. Thank you for the tips! And yes I subscribed!

      Update: I cooked the steaks and they were amazing! Used my own rub and got that great crust. Hers was perfect but mine was a little too done for me but the taste was unbelievable. I usually cook by feel but did temp this time. They were come of the best steaks we’ve ever had. Did some potatoes, squash, and mushrooms as well as brown butter. Thanks for the instruction.

    Interesting ........ we just cooked the exact same thing on our Blackstone tonight. One thing I do to get a real nice even sear on our steaks is use some light weight aluminum presses I bought off Amazon about a year ago. They keep constant even pressure on the meat and makes a really nice even crust. They work great on burgers as well. Nice video.

      Dry brine with kosher salt 24-48 hrs at least an inch and a half prime meat with good marbles. Then get blackstone as hot as possible and flip every minute. Don’t let come to room temp first just come Straight our the fridge add some pep and on the flat top with some safflower oil or A5 fat. Once the temp hits 105 take it off and whatch it rise to 135. Use a good wireless meat thermo.

    I love your theory on cooking a steak evenly. Jesus it’s like anything you do to a steak there’s a golden good ol’ boy rule that says you’re an idiot. How bout I like my steaks to get eaten? Lol and what watch do you have on here? I have a habit of noticing that many good men of youtube have great taste in watches.

    • @thehungryhussey
      @thehungryhussey  Před rokem

      I cannot remember the model, but it’s a Citizen Eco Drive.
      Since then I moved to the dark side of an Apple Watch, though I swore I never would.
      I’ve always enjoyed having a nice metal watch though.

    I'm really close to getting one of these. Everything looks great and the mushrooms really looked good. The only thing is those steaks look an awful like ribeyes.

    Try some AP seasoning on the onions. I use that and the onions are out of this world!!!

      Man, that's an old one!
      So, I just stripped that top and reseasoned with lard. It was very fresh and new at that point. It amplifies when under the lights.
