Honestly I'd like the hero classes to be more focused on class fantasy rather than actual mechanics. Like Paladins having a Scarlet Crusade and Silver Hand options that change spell color, offer special mogs and maybe glyphs and even special interactions with other players of the same hero spec.

Imagine if the warbands login screen evolved into a kind of player housing concept. It could even solve the question of player housing if done right. Cosmetic unlocks but feels rewarding and personal. They could pursue a garrison style vibe, sims vibe, the possibilities really are endless

Having the garrison, the garden of Pandaria, the Class Hall, and a Warband settlement link through portals. Being able to assign your characters to task for any of your settlements. Being able to customize your Warband settlement with loot gain from achievements and seasonal events.
Give me that an you got me back forever. I mean and ever.
I’m just glad that a casual player like me finally not getting penalized for not raiding or M+ EVERY single week. I like the direction they are taking that makes gear progression agnostic to whatever the player wants to do. I would just hope that they are thinking of bringing back professions in this manner too. The public order system was a great concept, but a huge misfire on execution during DF launch.
I absolutely hate public work orders and the new professions. Once you learn an item it should just be craftable at whatever item level the recipe is for, none of having to craft things multiple times to advance it. Also, going back to crafting items being boe and being sold on the auction house needs to happen too. Crafters should be able to craft high end items and sell them on the auction house again.
Crafting itself is fine.
The work order system is an underdeveloped mess.
WoD proved that selling everything BoE style is a bad idea for the game economy.
What if BoE selling was possible and the profession with work orders was needed for the substats? @@decwow
@@straighttalkwithkyle7947 i actually like the recraft system. Implementation was a bit messy but It is actually is more useful and by requiring a skilled crafter to get the best benefit is not a bad idea.
@@markburton5292 it takes way too long and way too many materials to maximize your profession. It's also time gated. It has completely eliminated having alts with max professions to take care of all of your needs from crafting gear, to potions and flasks, enchants and gems. You used to be able to put the work in and take care of all of those things yourself and that doesn't even touch gold making with professions. Now they are too time consuming and complicated to do that anymore. I don't know how progression raiders do it and pay for their repair bills on top of that.
Being able to unlock transmog account wide is actually an incredible change.
Never been a fan of instance lockouts but I get why they're around. This'll make it feel like time wasn't wasted if you do not get the thing you were after.
As someone who got the Tusks of Mannoroth on their monk a couple of years ago and couldn’t bring myself to vendor them, I really hope that the account-wide transmog will apply to things already acquired, because I’ve got tons of plate toons and the Tusks refuse to drop for any of them 😂

Yeah I have been wondering how they plan to deal with Soulbind items when War Bands and Shared Banks come out. Im hoping Soulbind items become Warband Bound and thus you can share crappy Mythic rewards/dungeon gear.

Warbands is the missing element from Garrisons to actually make Player Housing a great thing

There's a lot more than warbands missing from garrisons, like actual in-depth customization for one.
Garrisons were never fulfilling as they're instanced away from showing off your stuff to everyone else. At least Order Halls had that going for them.
What is acutally player housing and why we should have it ingame?
@@josefchodounsky8173 nothing really. Most MMOs that have player housing it's just another way to store cosmetics that provide no actually utility.
They need to allow Fury warriors to transmog one handers over two handers if they want the 'Mountain Thane' fantasy to be fully realised, or at least make single minded fury a baseline passive. Also they need to give Demon Hunters the Dracthyr soar.
It is a bit silly that both have full fledged wings but only one can really fly.
Yeah good point. Soaring Demon Hunters would be entirely cosmetic and a lot of flavour.

That Blizz hasn't allowed Fury warrs to xmog 2handers into 1handers is abject laziness at this point. The capability is pretty damn easy to implement, they're just being all Fun Police about refusing to do so.
That would be my dream come true, i always wanted my dwarf warrior to look like mountain king.

It would be very cool but kinda finicky to implement the details. It would be near impossible to implement an AI for all specs and talents, especially if you have gear (trinkets?) that affects your gameplay. I think the way to go would be to only have your alts as a visual "skin" to the existing AI characters that are being added in 10.2.5.

I like all of this. Honestly, it's been quite a long time since I was actually anticipating a new expansion.
More and more account wide features for us insane altholics is a pure blessing, I want to be able to switch mains daily with literally 0 headache, make gold and other currencies Realm-wide etc as well. we need more and more of this especially for people who play WoW to drip out different races and gender of those in different ways.

Warbands is stand-out and enticing.
However, Delves are now grabbing my interest. Having a more laid-back form of dungeons with Heroic Raid-level gear potential, alongside its place in the weekly vault, will draw a lot of more relaxed players in.

At the very lease Dragonflight's story was "Feel-Good" quality, imo, and given the current depressing state of the world, we could really use more "feel-good" stories.

We don't escape reality by having long goopy emotional conversations. We escape reality by getting into the action or getting lost in our thoughts. Dragonflight doesn't offer enough action stories or thoughtful mysteries.. just lots of feelings based stories where characters tell us how they feel rather than show us the results of our actions.
@@DarkScreamGames dude I hate to tell you this but they've got a wide variety of players who play the game now, not just young males. I know a lot of men who play that are fine with emotional conversations and cute collectibles. a large amount of players are women now as well, so you gotta cope with the fact that not every storyline is going to be incredibly 'masculine' xD

@@jt5765 Lets hope so. DF was pretty good on most accounts, but the story and lore were still the weakest points. Side plots had some wins, as usually. I have zero faith until something good in the main plot is already out. And they didnt retcon 20 year old lore to make it happen.
No he is just going to be in the background to collect a check. He is not going to change diddly squat. Really he was just hired to provide hype.
Cross-Realm guilds and the big push for making the game more open to everyone on different realms. Warbands and having all your characters in one easy list. And the plethora of other changes. Genuinely looking forward to the future of retail.
What a great overview! So much info in a well organized and digestible way. I've been trying to get back into WOW with the dragonflight expansion, but SO much has changed since WOTLK and I feel like an outsider. It's hard to find people explaining things well.
My biggest wish for WoW has been a sword and shield DPS spec or class. Gladiator Stance prot warrior was so much fun. With some balance and refining it could be done.
That would be cool for sure :)
One can only hope. It could have a special combo sequence where you alternate between your weapon and shield attacks and the damage of shield attacks scales from the shield’s block value or something.
And here we go again, another year of me, finally giving up and WOW after 15 years and coming back anyway for another expac.
I've only given it up once during shadowlands but when I came back I felt the same way. I can honestly say Dragonflight has been amazing. The story is slow and "nice" but it felt good. I'm ready to get back to the more normal Warcraft content but I think we needed Dragonflight. I'll be happy to see people come back. Not for me but for them. It's finally to the point where you don't have to play the entire expansion. You can take breaks if you want without much recourse. Of course I don't take breaks right now 😂

Random thought but I’d love for them to add tights just like they have shirts for torsos. So if you love a leg mog but don’t like your skin showing, you can put tights on to cover your legs

My Guess/hope is that the warband system might evolve to a player house type settlement system, like an evergreen Garrison from WOD, where connected to the Delve mechanic you get cosmetics to display and can have your Delve NPC's hang out.
In Swotor your "Hideouts" were basically player housing and you could get items to place in them from all over the game. Some of the hardest bosses dropped some really awesome stuff. I've wanted something like that for WoW for so long.
@@vearheart42 Yep it was part of swotor's legacy system which is basically what warband is duping, I'm hoping they copy the entire system, well most of it the legacy wide unlocks were a mixed bag since they utilised the premium "cartel coins" currency to unlock the best perks.

This sounds bad. Anything that can be compared to garrisons - one of the worst systems in the entire game - just doesn't sound like a good idea.
@@ryno4ever433 it's not really like garrisons in swotor tho. The legacy system and hideouts had much more functionality and were honestly great addition to that game.
The legacy perks made leveling faster and more enjoyable instead of them nerfing leveling times. It meant that newer players got longer leveling but that helped them see the story and as they got alts it got faster and faster. It was an eloquent solution.
Great video. Very excited for the next phase of WoW! That said, I have a little constructive criticism as a professional editor. I've noticed you guys have a lot of visible jump cuts happening under dissolves. I'm sure that happens because a base edit gets completed then dissolve transitions are added en masse after. Just something to keep an eye out for. Simple as moving the cut back a handful of frames so it occurs before the dissolve starts. Hope this didn't come across as too harsh. Just want to be helpful since it's something I've dealt with a lot. Cheers.
that would be crazy warband camp with are other toons simming dps on dummys while we are on a different toon, or just like walking around like a pets did in the garys

I for one would like to keep content lulls. I don’t enjoy feeling like I HAVE to play every day. That’s not a game, that’s a job.
Would be nice for Monk's Nimbus cloud to get dynamic flight.
As a monk, I’ve always hated how restrictive their cloud is. Really wish they’d add more class fantasy spells in general.
And add flight too Demon Hunters too plz. Maybe shamans also.
I think the biggest issue with public profession crafting orders is all the orders that are put up that don't provide any materials and only provide 50g as payment. I've stopped even looking at public crafting orders because that's all I see on there
When I post a public crafting order I include all materials, and include a very generous tip, and mention that I posted it as a public order with all the matts in trade and services and it's filled in seconds.

Just started playing vanilla a week ago and I've been loving it . Lots of learning but to do (19 years worth) but It's been a delight so far :D
I liked dragonflight and thought it was a huge step in the right direction from shadowlands and seems like war within will continue to itterate and make these systems even better. The only thing lacking was the main story. Hopefully the war within will provide that too. Excited for the new expac!
I've already tried follower dungeons. It was wonderful. Delves look fantastic too
I actually feel worse when numbers are super high. I love stat squishes and wish they stayed in smaller number ranges for longer than they do now.
I don't get to play often anymore (I have a toddler at home), but when I do, I enjoy it. I've been running lower level keys on a shaman and having a blast. Gearing is more intentional and feels controlled. There's an element of randomness that helps. My only beef right now is I need my tier set, but knowing I can get it for sure in a couple weeks is encouraging.
I even got into a normal PuG raid and we blasted every boss until Fyrakk, but most of the gear I needed dropped before that so it was disappointing I couldn't stay until the end, but I don't feel too bad about it.
Honestly as an true official "casual" player now, I'm pretty pleased with the game.
Since it looks like we might be dealing with the Scarlets in Gilneas soon, it wouldn't surprise me if that set up the Arathi humans in the War Within somehow. What they have shown so far gave me a of Scarlet Crusade vibes. Blizzard also said they got down there relatively recently but couldn't say why because of spoilers.
I am really hoping that, with Microsoft backing them and their knowledge of networking and servers because of the whole Azure technology, that they can drop region boundaries. It would be nice to return to using local currency instead of having to swap to the NA shop and use USD for my sub and getting expansions just to play with NA friends. Whether I could move all my characters over to be more EU focused outside of joining up for dungeons/raids/open world I guess might be tricky for them, but I would appreciate having a lot less latency.
I hope we get some sort of player housing like the strongholds they have in the Star Wars mmo
This sounds interesting and hopefully easy to grasp. I know that WoW felt complicated and I stopped playing retail for classic. I wouldn't mind having a way for me to get back into retail as it looks gorgeous and fun. and I want to be able to play with my classic friends in retail. do you feel it will help folks like me to come back into retail?

As someone who jus started seeing the warbands and seeing our alts being on screen is pretty neat! The new Hero Specs seem pretty cool, something to look forward to! Been getting into PVP and as a solo player this is a win imo aha
Be cool if the war band is brought in in a way where you can see some of the NPC’s replaced with your ALTS walking around in one of the towns and if you don’t have any ALTS then it’s just random characters so that way for everyone sees the same NPCS but the name and the appearance changes if you have Alts.
I'm very curious about the "blow your socks off" features in Midnight. I can't imagine what those are after Account-Wide Everything and learning mogs on any armour type.
I am conflicted about returning to WoW. I don't have that much time to play but did enjoy Raids and PVE content when I did play seriously. They do seem to keep us "filthy casuals" in mind though with a lot of the updated content. I just hope they offer returning players who also enjoy the lore some way of progressing through the story at our own pace. Would be nice if they did some sort of Caverns of Time thingy where returning players can get a linear lore quest chain for each expansion and relive the most vital parts to become updated with the lore and story.
I play typically 7-10 hours a week and I have 29 characters I play between. I’ve leveled 10 of them to 70 within the last few months and they have LFR ilvl gear. It’s a great time to play casually.
crafting orders would be cool to have like an eso style daily crafting writs which are basically dailies you craft stuff for in each profession and then you get mats as rewards

That Transmog change was a long time coming. Hopefully in Midnight they just make it so all transmogs can be adaptive between plate through cloth. Something similar to what Swtor did.
I'd like the hero classes to be talents for making your character more tanky-healer like to create challenging PvE Solo content just like in mage tower but with heroic raid gear rewards.
16:35 i gotta say the one thing i have thoroughly enjoyed more in classic is the guild system lol, with the exception of guild just sending out macro'd spam invites, they feel a lot more like a guild then in retail where i usually forget that i even joined one most of the time

Hero talents feel more like Expansion wide Tier sets that you just get for leveling than any form of borrowed power. And I love that.
My socks will be blown off if they finally give guild halls and a profession based around that.
all of this warband stuff is incredibly important to me as a player with several dozen alts for the sole purpose of farming old content, if all that stuff became account wide it would change everything for me for the better. already the azeroth dragon riding has been such a major improvement for me.
All this content they are adding with Warbands makes it feel it is geared to exactly how I play the game.

Hero talents need to just be an evergreen feature that is all RP/flavor like glyphs and they just pour into that and add stuff from every patch taht would make sense. Change the color of a spell or make your bear form undead looking or become a dark paladin or whatever man
Each class needs a quest line like the fel fire one for warlocks, where it gives you a small buff but gives you a choice of cosmetic flairs that add to your spells.
Man, could you imagine a warband base that is similar to your garrison and it just has NPC versions of your warband characters roaming around doing random things? that would be pretty cool.

Have been thinking about starting WOW but do you actually need app add ons for group content such as raids and other things?
You can already use dynamic flight as a dracthyr in the old maps for short flights
Will I be able to change between dynamic and normal flight at will (via a button on my bar), or will I have to talk to an npc? As a druid, I would still want to be able to herb and skin without using up vigor to bounce between sources, but still dynamic fly any other time.
What do the rotations look like? If it's still mash whatever is off cooldown then all the shiny menus won't compensate for that.
Since we are going back to the main land, I REALLY hope they do what GW2 does and make old content relevant still...it'd be so cool to do old raids and dungeons and have them be high level....bridge the classic and retail a bit more
The single biggest issue with the Public work order system is that it gets flooded with assholes who want you to craft expensive high end gear for them essentially for free that they're almost assuredly going to flip on the AH for a huge profit. If we as players had tools for weeding them out (IE an ignore function) along with opening recrafting to public orders (seriously, why does it have to be either guild or character specific?).
Also, a tutorial system for players so they understand how the POs work would probably help a lot.
On flying: I hope they fix the silliness with winged mounts where they can climb without flapping, and yet will flap whole descending.

The warband feature isn't on character level it's automatically on the whole account. So yeah no way to go back only way to do that is to do a new acc 😅

Will there be changes done to the Auction House? Having it bridge all the servers could help in prices low and supplies shortages.

the funny thing about Delves is I have wanted to make a game for years and this is similar to an idea I have had. I know that they HAVE NOT copied me because I am in the uk and I have it written down on TONS of paper dotted about my house.
My Belf hunter pets are pretty tough. Thet have even taken on a Tourghast Boss and held their own.

sounds good only thing am not a fa of is the lv raising again i liked the lv 60 cap make sleveling short ow its gonna be 80 again and the only way its not a drag is if the leveling goes fast so ones you hit 80 and oure only hafway through the next content you can just go on finishing the story collect the gear without the focus on lv.
but i hope they wil either stop at 80 or at some point go back to 60-70,thats why i love the eso system the lv caps at 50 and transitions to champions points and all gained champio points are accountwide and implementable on a new charc aswel which means you can give them a nice extra boost from the start.

Yeah, it's kinda crazy now that players from all region realms pool into the same bgs, we haven't seen some new ones. I really like the idea of solo rbg, which never occurred to me. That will be a great way to perfect your skills without feeling humiliated-a way more interesting practice dummy.

Cross-Realm Guilds? I thought that was already a thing. I play on Kilrogg, but I have someone from Runetotem in my guild.
Connected servers can do that because they're really all just one server. You can't make a guild on Area 52 and invite people from Sargeras for example.
That's great...and if there was ANY challenge to the leveling process, I would play it again.
Heres an idea blizzard: now i know it wouldnt be easy to balance but.. cross classes. Hunter/rouge=ranged assasin, warlock/dk=necromancer, warrior/mage=battlemage, etc. It would be a lot of fun and really refreshing.
