- This is a DIY mobile router table. I used a JessEm lift with a Dewalt fixed base router. This gives me a dedicated space to use my router and even more tool storage, which always seems to be something I need more of! This time we make the router table fence, install the JessEm router lift, and add the router dust collection to go along with the base cabinet and router bit storage.

I just completed my router table build. Your CZcams was great but more importantly the written directions and diagrams were clear and easy to follow. Thank you!
Terrific video, thanks so much.
Very professional all the way around. The video and the router table. Feels like something I would’ve expected on hgtv. Thank you!
Great build! I made a similar one many years ago. I may enhance it with several of your features. The leveling screws are a great idea.
Well I been checking for router table and this the best so far good size and good design nothing is missing fence well is good honestly the table have everything to put all the routers bits all in one place perfect perfectly I think I going to copy this one when I going back to Colombia thanks my friend definitely I will copy this table 🙏👌👍🇨🇴
Nice build. I appreciate the listing of parts you used for the duct collection. I’m in the middle of building my own router table and I’ve been putting off the dust collection issue. But now that I’ve seen your setup and your solution for adding more airflow to the lower enclosure I’m going to use your ideas for my own. Thanks for a very informative video.
Cool! hope the rest of your build goes smoothly.
Looks like a very nice job. What I really appreciated was just the right amount of talk for the amount of work without using supper fast videos. Hate those videos. Good Luck to you and the shop assistant
I like the dog never carpenter going whit out a nice doggie he is a very good companion make you day more enjoyable definitely is the best design this week it is perfect 👍👌
Excellent build!!👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Shop build out is looking mighty fine, sir. Well done! Looking forward to what Elise you’ve got coming down the pipe. Stay safe and keep on working.
Thanks!
Awesome video and build as always!!!!! The cross cut sled is sweet too!
Thanks, Kevin!
Just came across this video. Nice work on this router table. And I can relate re: the jigsaw. I had the same one for years and it. is. terrible. Recently got the 12v Bosch jigsaw. Vast improvement.
LOOKS NICE
Heck of a nice little build there man! Little builds like this make me want a little shop.
This channel is so underrated. Great stuff man!
Superb end result. Real high quality shop furniture. Thanks. 👍🏻
Glad you like it!
Great job
Very nice router table and a great video. Thanks
Nice work looks great! I really like that you have some storage along with that I'm leaning towards building the same as you have thanks for the inspiration 👍
Good luck!
building my new router table, looking around for ideas. i chuckled when you epoxied the fitting in the fence, i bought the same fitting for the same reason on my old table. it fits nothing! great build, gave me some ideas 👍
Well done. Your wood shop is looking great. 👍
Thanks!
This is an awesome build
Thanks!
Keep coming out with good content man!
Cool video!!
Dude! Great simple build. Good video and process as well. Nicely done.
Glad you liked it!
Excelente trabalho, parabéns 👍🏻
Great job mate …
Thank you!
great video. i knew about the tape and CA glue, but never thought of putting my plate down and putting tape right up to it. Seem so logical, feel dump not having think about this earlier ! thanks for that tip tho!
Glad I could pass on a tip. There are always so many little things we can all pick up from each other.
Nice work. I recently bought a whole Rockler system with the same lift. The top is bowed. Took it back to exchange, and every other top in the store (except to metal ones) were also bowed. I'll most likely return it and build my own. The Rockler legs and fence seem fine, BTW.
Wow, that is unfortunate and annoying to get some many defective tops. Would have thought rockler would be better than that
Very nice! 👏💪💪💪
Glad you like it!
Great!!!
Thanks for the video. I also had a dog named Bob Barker!
This cart is so much better than the one Jonathan Katz-Moses did.
Glad you like it!
@@woodpackdiy Yeah, man. Will definitely be following a lot of what you did here when I build mine.
Nice video, Sir. Happy to subscribe!
Thank you!
Awesome!! Looks amazing! I want to start designing my shop like yours but these lumber prices are ridiculous!!
Seriously. It is so crazy and kills some of the enthusiasm for projects when you see the cost compared to before.
@@woodpackdiy yea,I guess decided to make woodworking a hobby at the wrong time. These Lumber futures contracts are killing the industry.
Excellent video! Great job on the router cabinet! One question... Where did the big red aluminum level come from?
When you epoxied the dust port in I was thinking; Are you sure you want to do that?
Glad you could resolve that. Great build.
Thanks
Reconditioned Bosch 1287 is your friend.
Great ideas and by the way what kind of dog is that you have he or she looks fantastic
Love the table does the dog come with it? Sorry dog is beautiful. This is just what I want a router table for myself as I have hand issues so I think it would be easier if I had a table I could use both hands safer then trying to hold the router as they can be heavy. What router would you suggest for a beginner. Thank you for showing us how you did it
Glad you enjoyed the video, and Bob Barker says hello! I used this router for this build: DEWALT Router, Fixed Base: amzn.to/3DLkovV
But honestly, I don't have a huge preference between the standard brands. I would do something with decent power if its going in a table like this. Then it will handle all your needs - both big and small. And yeah, it does make a difference being able to control things well using this type of setup.
Nice work! ✅
Are you still happy with the tabletop surface? Did you use any kind of finish on it? I’m thinking of using a melamine over plywood top because I think it should be a pretty smooth surface with very little friction. Thoughts?
I am very happy with the top surface still. I used a prefinished plywood and put wipe on poly on the trim pieces. I have used it a good amount and it has held up great so far. Melamine would be a really good option for the reasons you mentioned. I havent had any issues with the friction on mine for practical use, but never hurts to go even less friction.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply.
Thanks for posting I built mine but I was wondering if maybe my router is too far away from the back of my table. ( 7 inches from lift device to back of table. )Could you tell me minimum distance on yours? I also use a 2 1/2 inch dust port lots of suction and volume. also I was wondering why you decided to put holes in the back instead of holes in the front for good air flow. Thanks in advance for your help. , Phil
mine is about the same distance. And the choice for where to put the holes was purely for aesthetic reasons. It should work well front or back.
@@woodpackdiy thanks for replying mine has been working great depending on using a dado or just a round over.
Jig saws just move the blade up n down, not really sure a new one would do anything any better :) nice build anyway
How many sheets of plywood for this whole build?
Been following the build, now I am assembling the fence bottom to the top using pocket holes, but how did you got the pocket holes screws heads to be completely flush the bottom, mine seem to be sticking out even though I drove them as much as possible using the recommended 1 1/4 inch for 3/4 thickness of material. Any advise? Seem if I leave them like that, they surley strach the bench tom and even the router lift plate.
2 options i can think of. 1. switch them out for the kreg 1 inch screws. Those have a smaller head. 2. If you can make new pocket holes, back the setting on the jig off (for example, if its set on 3/4 inch, maybe set it closer to 1 inch), that should create a deeper pocket for the screw head to sit into.
Did you place the lift right in the middle of the table?
Nice build thank you!!
Yes I did
Great thank you!
Nice build ! I used your video to build my own router table! My only problem is the dust collection when cutting dados, dust is flying everywhere . Did you experienced this issue ? Dust collection is good when cutting roundover ! I'm using a shopvac and a cyclone as dust collector , do you think it could be the problem ? Maybe its not strong enought? I did had holes for airflow but dust don't really go down in the cabinet below... do you have advises for me ? Thank you !!
Nice! and for the dados, I haven't done many on my router table (I do most on my table saw), but I don't remember it being a problem with dust. Im pretty sure the dust still went straight down into the chamber below. Not sure what the issue is for you.
Ok thank you !
What bit did you use to cut the t tracks and miter slots?
I used a 3/4" straight bit
How do you change bits?
Use the adjuster to move the router up to its highest point and that gives plent of room to change the bit normally.
it´s a pity, you speak to fast for me - your work looks very intresting
Thank you please read Romans 10:9-13❤
I have that same jigsaw and it sucks so bad.
