- The Starmark @ SouthCity, Kolkata, has organised a Pen Fest as part of its 25-year celebrations. The husband-wife duo of Minu and Gautam Jatia, the spirit behind Starmark, has chalked out an array of well-thought-out and superbly executed events that are like a manna from the heavens for fountain pen, ink, stationery, and book lovers.
Most major brands - Indian and global - are represented in the show and the footfalls are vying with the number of people that are picking up pen and inks, that is making the Starmark Pen Fest, a win-win both for the consumers and the sellers.
Sailor's top-of-the-line Ganesha flew off the shelf on the very first day itself, silencing the detractors, while other major brands like Staedtler, Lapis Bard, ASA, Pelikan, Lamy, Cross, Sulekha, Sheaffer, Mont Verde, Lotus, Click, Kaweco, Hong Dian, all notched up impressive sales figures. Who says Kolkata lags behind in appreciating quality?
Prof K C Janardhan, the maestro, who flew in from Bangalore, regaled the audience as part of the event. While local legend: fountain pen, and ink evangelist, Chawm Ganguly impressed in his own inimitable style.
Two Starmark Exclusive inks - Blue Blood and Passion Red were launched on the occasion. Celebrity guests like legal luminaries, Doctors, professionals, and industrialists - like for example, Mr Goenka of the Emami group, graced the occasion. As for the aficionados, they are coming in swarms!
From Calligraphy workshops to talks about fountain pens, inks, handwriting, and the hobby of fountain pen collecting were held during the show which added a new dimension to the event, and is hoped, will help create many converts.
"We want more such events in Starmark" was the common refrain among the fountain pen and ink enthusiasts. "Buying quality pens and inks, both imported and the ones made in India, should be facilitated by bringing everything under one roof the way Starmark has done, the quality of service is impeccable, the Starmark brand is one we trust, and the experience here beats that of both buying online and depending on petty peddlers, who often short charge us, not to mention the actual hassles of paying duties, being left high and dry if after sales services are required, or even when the courier plays traunt " said one.

Congratulations, Starmark! You are hosting a grand event for fountain pen lovers..it will be a lot of fun--wish I could participate.
Great video as always, I wished they conducted a similar event in Hyderabad.
One of my most favourite stores in Kolkata, and certainly the highlight of the place when I am there in South City Mall! The section which retails pens from names like Lamy and Sheaffers is really cool, and I can imagine what a treasure trove this pen festival will prove to be to the pen aficionados of Kolkata (and beyond). I really enjoyed the workshop on Power Handwriting & the 7 Elements conducted by Prof.K.C. Janardhan. It was a learning session for me. I would like to thank Starmark for organizing such Pen Fest and Sulekha for creating two beautiful inks and finally our Sutradhar Chawm Ganguly.

Amazing coverage sir , i am a novice pen collector and been following you , i badly wanted to meet you in the pen fest, starmark and especially when you came on 22nd , but missed you for being late, i have several questions and doubts regarding this fascination of mine , kindly let me know how to get connected anywhere else or where can i get a response from your end , waiting eagerly for your gracious and honourable response sir .
