- China will coordinate its invasion of Taiwan with its close allies, Russia, Iran and North Korea, according to national security expert Lincoln Parker.
His remarks come as fears grow Iran could be ready to strike Israel over its war with Hamas.
“Iran’s major supporter and their biggest backer is China, so I think if Iran is going to go hard, they’re going to have to get the ok from the Chinese Communist Party and President Xi Jinping,” Mr Parker told Sky News host Erin Molan.
“Now Xi Jinping will do that when he’s ready to invade Taiwan and that may be now - nobody knows - we certainly know that it’s soon.
“Xi Jinping when he invades Taiwan is going to want to coordinate with all of his allies.
“He’s going to coordinate that because that gives him the best result he can to try and stretch the United States military around the world.”

Unlikely, China won't invade Taiwan if it means fighting NATO with US carriers/submarines/troops stationed in East/Southeast Asia, like South Korea, Phillipines, and Japan. China would lose a war of attrition trying to maintain boots on the ground in Taiwan with NATO helping to disrupt the attempts. Also, the economic sanctions that follow from invading Taiwan would cripple China's economy. At least 5-10 years away from China being even capable of a high probability invasion, assuming Taiwan does not ramp up military preparations, which it is.
