Love the Philippines and its people. During my 20-year military service, I worked alongside many Filipino American veterans. They are humble, respectable, and very reliable allies. No race is perfect, though, and there are the spoiled ones in the U.S.

Being a Filipino, it's truly disheartening that we find ourselves dependent on other nations, primarily because of the extreme corruption within our government. Sometimes, I find myself pondering before sleep, "Is my country worth dying for?"
I am willing to stand up and defend my fellow Filipinos and our homeland, but I won't risk my life for leaders who embezzle money from our people while they remain comfortably seated in their chairs.
But the battle of WPS is not about the government anymore. Nakakaawa ang mga Pilipinong mangingisda, kung nabalitaan mo yung mangingisdang nakipaghabulan sa mga tsino para lang makapasok sa WPS na ang layunin lang naman ay ang mangisda, hindi nakapasok. Yung mga tsino nilalaglag nila sa dagat yung mga huli nilang isda at kinukuha nila. Nakakagigil talaga luging lugi na nga sila kukuhanan pa ng huli. Kaya ako naiintindihan ko desisyon ni Marcos na lumapit sa Amerika kasi hindi talaga kaya natin ang tsina kahit mayaman pa ang Pilipinas ngayon talong talo pa rin tayo sa dami nila. Ginawan nga ng floating barrier ang sakop na ng Japan tayo pa kaya? Feel ng China sila ang batas yun ang gusto nilang ipahayag. Lumalaban naman ang Pilipinas pero kailangan natin ng resbak. Madaling isipin at sabihin na hindi tayo naging matapang dahil lumapit pa tayo sa Amerika na dapat magtiwala tayo sa sarili nating kakayahan, super optimistic bah na pwede din makapahamak sa atin. Hindi talaga kaya natin ang China sa dami at yaman nila kahit pa matapang mga Pinoy, iba na ang mga kagamitan noon at ngayon..
Hindi pa bah katapangan ang ipagtanggol ang sariling iyo na alam mo namang talong talo ka na? Ang pagtanggal ng Philippine coast guard sa mga floating barriers na inilagay ng tsina ay isang napakalaking katapangan na iyon. Yung hindi ka basta bastang magpapa ubaya na lang sa mga taong sakim sa kapangyarihan.

I don't think so they are going to start a war against China the west will provoke a war or do something and blame China for doing it so that they have a reason to start a war.
