Ok. Rant here. What is wrong with appreciating beauty. She is going for the sexy of generations past. To not notice is almost an insult. We, especially many females, spend hours getting our make up and clothes perfect. Why? If it's not to look attractive? Ech performance is an entire work of art. The music, the vocals, the outfit, the lighting, the camera work. The best reactors can acknowledge ALL aspects of the video. The tiny details we sometimes miss. The unnoticed thing that reactors catch, that we miss. That little thing that gives it its special feeling. Please don't stop being you. That is why i love watching you two.

During Haley’s American Idol journey, a big group of us “Haliens” were floored by her performance week after week.
Let me repeat here what our common summation of HER (Haley Elizabeth Reinhart):
People who actually know something about good singing will understand just how exceptional Haley is - which other contestant in the history of American Idol can scat, yodel, growl, whistle, do riffs and runs? Who else can sing ANY GENRE well and has an incredible vocal range and control, with many unique inflections and the ability to transition from light ethereal tonal qualities to raw growly rock or killer jazz? Week after week, Haley gave consummate performances which showcased her diverse talents and remarkable musicality; she interpreted the lyrics accurately with her unique, naturally raspy voice which was brought into play and gave us smokey, sultry and soulfully dramatic melodies of the songs she covered. She injected life and color into it through her clever inflections, growls, subtle pantomimes and poignant push with her unique vocals - and investing it with her own oomph and panache. Haley gives us goosebumps because she is able to put the emotion in every single note and sings the lyrics like she lived them. Commercial success has NOTHING to do with talent as is evident by the crop in today's music world of auto-tuned, senseless, perversely vulgar, undressed, pornographic prancing and twerking delinquent "artistes"!

I found Postmodern Jukebox through you guys, which I absolutely love. If I made a comment about the reaction to her beauty, it was meant in jest, never negative. If I disagree to something you guys enjoy, I don't voice it because this is just an amazing corner for people who love music. So if I came off that way, I sincerely apologize. Here is what I like about the two of you as music reactors, you listen and then you react, you generally don't talk over the music and I love that. This is my favorite Elvis song hands down and she sang it beautifully. I've seen the commercials but I didn't realize that it was her. I listen so much music, vocal and instrumental, and you keep introducing me to things that are interesting. Her voice for me, is real. When I played Postmodern Jukebox for my students, their ears couldn't handle the different styles because of so much auto tune. You can tell her's isn't. And for anyone that knows fine arts, music, dance, theatrics go hand in hand. So well, done, an amazing arrangement of this song. And once again, I'm so glad you are back.
This is my most favorite song of her. And still remember her when she competed in American idol. And when I heard her beautiful voice on our radio. I knew it already that she was her that I watched on American idol. That's how her voice stayed in my head. I love her so much. One of a kind voice.

I don't know that it's a deliberately adopted style so much as Haley's voice is naturally very warm and slightly husky, unusual in itself. On top of that she is able to vary the tone enormously which emphasises her uniqueness.
Vocally and artistically, Haley is an old soul. If she was to be this age and singing during WWII she would have been a bigger sensation than Betty Grable or the Andrew sisters.
Try her American Idol performance of House of the Rising Sun. I was literally typing this when you mentioned it!

One thing I notice though in this particular video is Haley looks like she was getting a bit wide in the hips. Which I don't remember ever happening to Haley. So I went and searched for another video of Haley around the same time, and I found a video of Haley at the Mall of America, czcams.com/video/fpJP8M0PNzM/video.html, and as you can see from the Mall of America video taken just 8 days later, Haley wasn't wide in the hips at all but fine as all get out instead. Hence, it was the video camera that added what appears to be the extra weight in the hips in that House of the Rising Sun video.

I love her performances; she is amazing. The entire performance not just the singing of notes. Yes, Marco she is beautiful, sexy, has the moves, stunning inflection when singing and a voice that defies description. What other singers serve up is good, maybe even great...but Haley is nothing short of a celebratory FEAST!

Haley isn't just singing. Haley is performing. And she performs stunningly. Part of her performance, from her clothes to her hair to her makeup to her expressions are all wrapped up together with her singing. Some recent Haley CZcams live videos: "Expensive Taste" a hard rock original performed for the first time by Haley, a couple of classic jazz collaborations with Jeff Goldblum's band. Speaking of "House of the Rising Sun" which she performed on American Idol, some other performances that grabbed my attention on Idol are "Bennie and the Jets," "Fallin'," "Moanin," a duet with Casey Abrams, "God Bless the Child," "What is and What Should Never Be," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me."
You guys should check out her live version of Helter Skelter. Never heard a woman do justice to it but she owned it.

I remember when that ad came out, and I liked it a lot, largely because of the vocal behind it. It wasn't until much later that I stumbled across the video you were reacting to and realized that it was Haley Reinhart who sang it! I loved her on American Idol (thought she should have won that year), and started following her CZcams channel. Love her voice and stylings.

You could also try her original "Spiderweb" it has no music video with it but it's not vintage ..it's rock/pop. (Haley Reinhart - Spiderweb - Studio Version) The thing is Haley uses her voice like a true instrument. She has complete control of her voice and even a non-vintage song like this still sounds like a rare vintage treat. I just love her voice and the way she creatively uses it.

Honestly, what the hell is wrong with people? Haley Reinhardt has an amazing voice and she oozes sex appeal because it just comes naturally to her. She moves to music because she’s feeling it. I think it would be wrong if anyone commented on her sex appeal without mentioning her voice or worse, if she didn’t have any talent. Haley is, in my humble opinion, if not the very best vocalist, at least in the top 2 and she is number one of the top 2! Does that make any sense? Anyway, Haley has a way of making a song come to life. So very many singers today, even when singing a ballad, cannot be understood. They might as well be singing la la's. If you can't understand the words, then you must draw your own conclusions about what the song is saying. I don't think that is what was in the mind of the person who wrote the lyrics to a song. Haley also has the ability to put the right amount of emphasis on just the right words in a song. Her inflections sell the true meanings. I also like Morgan James very much, however, in a head to head competition, I think Haley wins. But Morgan is right up there. Long story short, Haley is the very best singer in today's market bar none. I appreciate so much, that you two love and appreciate her so much too! She is AWESOME!! Oh, I forgot, she also has the ability to perform a song as well as she sings it. Her gestures and body movements help to sell the song. I hope she becomes a world super star. She should be! Adele, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, none of them can match Haley. Keep on keeping on guys! Best wishes!
