Totaly agree!! Im just getting back into cardboard at 59yrs old..had to sell my cards/collection due to financial situation..worth $thousands now!! I bought my first 3 cards the other day..now im making runs at all, or most of the cards i had in my collection..now., the prices are so much more, and im on a tight budget, and can only afford a few cards per month..so these slabs you are all creating is awesome!! Saves collector's a lot of unnecessary spending on grades that i dont even agree with much of the time..ill be trying to purchase your slabs..great job guys..
Vincent, Welcome back to the greatest hobby on earth :) , I bet your having an absolute blast getting back into it. Have fun with it and yes these slabs make it so much more fun !!!
@@DoubleDvintagebaseballcards I was thinking of sealing the “one touches” with labels from my label maker. A personal design just like yours, but with those holders
Started doing my own as well Only I found a compact color printer its a Brother VC-500W it prints the labels right off your phone it comes with 1 inch wide tape cartridge but I bought the 3/4 in that fits the slab perfectly
This was one of the coolest streams ever. I freaking love all the labels but Dillon yours are insane. I wish I could of caught this live. I jumped on board with the Zion mag pros as well. I love them better then any graded case. Now I want a slabbed card from all my buddies on here lol.
Dude right !!! I want a slabbed card from everyone. One day for sure we will do a trade night where we all bring our slabs and trade with each other. Thank you so much for the great comment :)
Last month I ordered 25 Zion MagPros and I just ordered 25 more. I absolutely LOVE them! I heard you mention that the PSA perfect fit sleeves are a little bit big for these, but I have a solution for a well-fitting protection bag for these cases: It’s the original sleeve they come in . There’s a crimped plastic tab that can be trimmed off with scissors, but the sleeve is resealable and fits the case perfectly. It’s a great solution for keeping these pristine slabs scratch free. Now I just have to figure out my label situation…
High Pop, Dude the revolution is on !!! Well the reason we dont reuse the bag they come in or at least for me is that its not the clear of a bag like the perfect fits are ultra clear. I just ordered ones from Perfect fit that were made specifically for these so I am pumped !! Cant wait to have a trade night of are slabbed cards
Awesome conversation! What I took away is a greater sense that my ungraded cards are legit collectibles! I can choose to have them graded, or not. Plus, I generally know if a card, especially a modern card, has issues or not. I can look at it and say, "Yeah, this would grade in the 8-10 range, depending on how strict they decide to be." Great show, guys!" 😊👊
The SGC number was made.large for olderfolks and that can't see well. My guess 😊 These slabs are great for PC. Im looking into them. Now for vintage Authentication becomes important to me from PSA etc. to be sure its authentic the card or an auto. And for resell PSA is king, but interested in what some of you are saying for selling at around the same value. That is probably because of your reputation and how well your known in the hobby. For me iist a card im not known so i will not get even close probably to the value haha. 😂. Great show.😅😅 The pop reports also are all wrong because of all the cracking and resubmitting. Thanks guys. Hey where was Lourock? 😂 take care guys. Nice to meet you all. PS I still have that Ryan that I bought from you on whatnot. I look at it everyday. It's not graded. I want to get a Mac pro for that one.
HALO !!! so stoked you got that Ryan. I totally should have invited LouRok on here I blew it !!! Loved hearing your take on everything we talked about.
I can see these being cool for people’s different collection projects that include cheaper cards. For me is it “worth” it to grade a Bob Gibson or a Joe Medwick? Sure. It doesn’t make sense to grade a Harry Brecheen or a Ray Lankford though. Hopefully this product is sustainable and lasting for collection projects that are ongoing.
I have had a couple cards damaged by sgc. both cards were ultra modern flagship topps. both corner dings. I hate sending those in because the card stock is so thin.
I have a case of Zion mag pros coming in to put vintage cards I was considering grading but decided not to. Like you guys said, I'm a collector holding on to my collection so why do I need a number on it. They can always be graded at a later time. I'm planning on calling my slabs Daniel's Gems. Great video of a great concept.
Are you guys using penny sleeves inside the slabs for regular sized cards? I know John does for his tobacco and early Bowmans but not sure about regular sized. If you are which have you found fit the best and are the clearest?
Scott, I decided to go without using penny sleeves so the shine would blind me on my refractors. Definitely no sleeves on vintage either unless its an odd size. I took Johns advice and ordered some different size ones.
28:11 PSA is extortionate. You can make your own like you have but that's not 3rd party. I wouldn't trust any of them that don't give you subgrades and I can get full slab and subgrades for under $10 anyway. PSA is only holding a premium for people that flip them. For your own collection it doesn't matter but I prefer to have subgrades because with other slabs and no reports you have no idea. If some total nooby picks up a PSA 9 and asks why it's a 9 (unless the centering is obvious 9) you wont be able to tell and most of the 9s will go to 10s. Depends what human grader you get and they are doing millions a month.
I dont think anyone one of us was suggesting that making our own slabs is a business or 3rd party. More of a great option for us collectors was more of the point. I also love subgrades but to me BGS slabs are the worst slabs ever but hey thats why we talk about opions thats just what they are :) . Thank you for the great comment and for spending your time watching.
MackyMintle ha ha Love that name. I think the best advice anyone has ever given about cards is no need to grade anything until you decide to sell it !!!
I go back and forth between grading cards on my own, the expense and the gamble is a definite deterrent. But if you hit a gem on a '93 Jeter SP Foil, that could change your life.
My rule is anything $100 or less I am good with slabbing in my own slabs. Most things higher I still prefer to buy already graded just for peace of mind.
Fascinating concept! This is the great thing about capitalism. I could see where a guy's reputation for grading could make it legit. I love that Dylan is grading. Lets bring grading into the REAL world. We can all grade better on a real 1-10 scale than PSA. How are the Zion slab brief cases? Great points about Greg Morris reputation, and old labels. An argument could be made that semi rigids are just as good looking as the Zion slabs. Totally agree on SGC numbers. The whole label is UGLY. Registry never even crosses my mind. 45:00: rotten and dishonest from SGC.
Hi Jude, Great Comment loved reading this a few days ago. I have never used a Zion Slab Brief case or any for that matter. I just love having a way for us Graded collectors to have our own way of grading and for a fraction of the price and 2 x as good looking as the big boys.
Definitely not cracking out my graded cards. No one was suggesting that. This is more about ideas and inspiration on future cards or cards currently in our collections that are ungraded. Thank you for watching :)
