Joan Armatrading needs to be given a lifetime achievement award. Also, her rightful place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She has spanned across 46 years+ and she doesn't hold anything back. When she writes and sings she is at a new level of music that I don't know that anyone else has obtained; a class by herself.

Takes me back when I would run to listen to the flow of music, it was one of father's favorite collection. It was recorded on a black cassette, it reminded me of my late Father. Still playing and sounding as new as it was then.
Reminds me of wet Christmas in Zimbabwe when it would be raining and mum baking scones. Radio 3 Tsitsi mawarire playing in the background. I never paid attention to the lyrics, but they were imprinted on me. Never knew whether Joana was black or white, Male or female. It was just pure sounds permeating through the house, and we know that there is more than one kind of love, i miss those scones

Her music made a profound impact upon the very confused emotions that I was experiencing at the time. Her portrayal of almost all the types of relationship that she obviously had lived through has helped me throughout my life. Now I thank Google and all the guys who are allowing me to relive those emotions and to introduce my family in Brazil to her wisdom and almost unknown pure talent.
