[MKW TAS] Platinum Runner TAS Strats

- Done on Dolphin 5.0 with savestates, slowdown, frame advance, TAS code, and RAM watch (created by Swarejonge).
For those who don't know, the Platinum Runner (and Platinum Spear) is a mod created by Atlas that maxes out the bar in every stat (every stat has a value of 80). On top of this, turning while in a wheelie doesn't cause the vehicle's speed to drop, giving it the ability to make minor adjustments without losing speed.
This is a video concept I've wanted to do ever since Troy made his videos showcasing the mod. I've dabbled a little bit with making montages in the past, so I figured this would be a pretty fun idea for a video to take a small break from doing fully optimized TASes. The main problem wasn't even the compiling of clips; rather, it was getting a hold of the mod itself. Due to the fact that this vehicle is completely overpowered compared to the actual vehicles, this mod has been kept pretty exclusive in the MKW community. I'm honestly surprised that I managed to obtain the official version of the mod.
Overall, I feel I did a pretty decent job showing what this vehicle can do. It's fairly hindered by the combination of insane handling and drift, which makes most turns awkward, but it also benefits the vehicle in certain situations. Of course, having a speed stat of 80 also lets it do a lot more than other vehicles, and the offroad stat comes in handy at times as well.

Ok, I have gotten WAY too many comments saying "This isn't the Platinum Runner, this is the Platinum Spear!!!1!!!!" THEY ARE THE EXACT SAME VEHICLE. Literally the only difference the Platinum Runner and Platinum Spear have is their hitbox. Other than that, they are completely identical. I simply chose the Spear variant because it's easier to get clips with. Plus, there are also clips in the video that use the Platinum Runner. Please stop commenting this. I don't have the time to clarify this 100+ times. I just wanna be able to sleep, man :(

This was very well done. In the few times I've used the Platinum Runner before, I come to think of it as an 'ultimate mode' of sorts for Mario Kart Wii. A much different experience than the traditional 200cc, 300cc mods and so on. MT, BC3, GV2, BC, DKM and LC were my favorites for this compilation, these really show the exaggerated turning that's possible with this mod (especially the ending of LC, the left "right side" glitch for BC and the bend turn for BC3). Great job!

It's amazing to see what this game can be, sometimes just watching how much we could theoretically push things is a motivation into the world of "I can do it if I try"
This is amplified by 1000000x when goofs like the platinum bikes and karts are thrown into the mix
The fact that you can do the ultra on Rainbow Road 3 for 3 is absolutely crazy
Well it is a tas so it would be easier because you just have to programme which button to press during a certain frame it is still quite impressive though

People have to make these shortcuts themselves. Albeit with slowdown and savestates and whatnot
Being said, its incredibly hard to make some of these shortcuts.
@@pikamain9689 for things as precise as the rainbow road ultra cut, it's more than likely that this tas just went frame by frame for the shortcut, and savestated through the last turn of every lap.

@@wren5413 not even, Platinum Runner is just visually maxed out bars, the bars can go outside of the boxes to be way higher than what you would logically think is the max unless you've seen videos like Troy's one on the Magiquacker
@@Psychomaniac14 MKWii had a built in max stat despite no vehicle reaching it, that Plat Runner is max stats, his other vehicle mods just go over the max stats, hence why they are out of the bar

The celeste intro style at the beginning was pretty cool. Love that you stuck to that aesthetic with keeping the music title, author, level (or in this case showcase). Really cool and I was excited to see it.
That's my intro card! I actually made that for two reasons. First, the artist behind the music deserves as much credit as they can get (music is fuckin' hard to do right lmao), and second, I got tired of people asking the song title despite it being in the description, so I just put it in the video so that issue would cease. Is it petty for me to do that? Yes. Do people think I should get rid of it? Yes. Is it working how it was supposed to? Also yes, and for that reason, it's staying.
But anyway, thanks! I put a lot of time into making it as accurate as possible (I literally had to dig into the audio files of the game to get the cassette sounds)
