Restoration Rusty Knife. WW2 Bayonet Restoration

- In this video, I will show step by step the restoration of an old rusty knife. This is an unusual rusty knife, and this is a bayonet knife of the Word War 1939-1945. This knife is for the Mauser K98 rifle.
Mauser 98 is a German rifle created in 1898 by Mauser. It was in service with the German army until the end of World War II and gained a reputation for high-precision and reliable weapons. Various variants of the Mauser rifle are still popular today as hunting and sporting weapons.
First, I'll take it apart for parts. Over time, and this is more than 80 years, rust has strongly penetrated into it. So that the screws cannot be unscrewed, it was necessary to completely destroy the wooden handle in order to unscrew the screws with clamps. WD-40 comes to the rescue. To remove rust, I immerse all parts of the knife in vinegar and leave it for a whole day. Then I clean off the rust with a metal brush.
When making a wooden handle, I use oak. With a wood cutter, I will remove excess material to create a ledge that will firmly hold the handle in the correct position. I will cover the handle of the knife with oil-wax.
I hope you will like it. If so, write comment and share with your friends, so you can thank me for my efforts for you.
Re-construction would have been right word.
Restoration doesn't mean destroying grips and re-sharpening the blade.
But nothing was lost with this very common, rusty bayonet. End product was good.
Awesome restoration!
Ein Bajonett ist nicht scharf nur spitz .😁

Bravo .!
I have one of those bayonets.
Very cool, well done. 😊
Thanks for the great video, great job. I wonder what liquid you used in the end?
Beautiful work
Thanks for watching. 👍👍👍
why didn't you replace the mussel blast guard plate?
Damn good
good job😍👍
I have one that’s just as bad but, there is no way mine will look as great as that one does.
Nice job, and you were able to keep all the metal pieces and give them the black (blue)? finish.
Thanks for watching.
Good job, i started similar project, but Japanise Arisaka bayonet type 30, soon will be on chanel.
Sudah saya like coment dan suscrabe y
Mantaaaaap
You forgot the cleaning holes in the handles
Hello Misha!
Where did you find the blade?
Nicely restored melee weapon!
It looks beautiful and you did an excellent job restoring it as well
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Thank you so much.
is it Restoration or DESTRUCTION?
What happened to the metal on the top of the handle.
What did you use to blue the knife?
😃😃💪💪👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏🙋🙋
I think you forgot a part on the handle.
Hàng le còn không
The handle and the color are not historicly correct
You forgot the SS runes ...🤣
Nicely done 👍 One thing is not Correct, Bayonets aren’t sharp.
Thanks for watching.
Its for stabing not for cutting its a Bayonet you destroyed this is not a restoration
Kinda disappointed that you didn't shine up the metal finish on the fittings
Wonder who was killed by this knife lol
All that waste. Such a shame.
Have nice day “experts”😆
Restoration? More like destruction 🤨. Bye bye original grip. You made a K98 sushi knife bayonet 🙄
You could report this dude like how i did
👊🇺🇦👊 👍👍👍
