  • In this episode I restore my 1959 truck steering wheel. PC7 fills the old cracks, then refinish with primer and paint. Applies to all classic 57, 58, 59 and 60 Custom and regular Cab pickups. 1957-1960 are the vintage 3rd generation Fords and removal/installation for the horn ring will be the same.

    Turned out great! What products did you use? Where’d you find the rattle can ford paint?

      Thanks! That PC7 2-part epoxy works great in the big cracks. Tiny thin cracks I used Bondo red glaze putty. Started with high fill then high adhesion primers. And then I got my paint from this seller on eBay. Always high quality, perfect mix, Ford Colonial White E code. Cannot remember if its enamel or lacquer but was single stage for sure. www.ebay.com/itm/164242956920?ViewItem=&vxp=mtr&item=164242956920

    Thanks so much for showing how to remove that type of steering wheel button. There is no information out there and last thing I wanna do is break it from removing it improperly and trying to replace the part.

      Thanks! Man, sorry about your horn ring. I guess I got lucky mine's in good shape. Be prepared for LOTS of detail sanding! Ugh.

      Good idea, but "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". When something in there breaks, you bet I'll do a video on it!

    Pretty cool!!Did you spray a clear coat on it and how long in real time did it take to do it?

    • @DonWSquared
      @DonWSquared  Před 3 lety +1

      Nope, no clear coat. The single stache ford white has held up for months and months now! Nice and durable.💪

      The kit comes with different size and thread bolts for different brand vehicles. Universal.

      You can borrow one from your local auto parts supplier (autozone, advanced auto parts, O'Reillys) for free
