It's rare to find an old truck or any old vehicle in that condition. I'm totally on board with preserving the paint and only rebuilding and replacing what's needed. In my mind, mostly original survivors are much more interesting than 100 point restorations.

Well, I don't know. Sometimes a fella has ta say something. I found VGG a month ago...just in time, since I'm eighty darn years old. I spent my teen years laying under cars with dirt in my eyes and ears, praying to get them running before Monday morning. Rebuilt the 292 in my '60 ford while on leave. The test drive was across Nevada and Utah and half of Colorado. I made it, but was AWOL about 12 hours...breakdowns the whole way. Lightening tube spinner, ragitator, electricical maker thing and a tradlee or two. It was all fine. You bring back so many memories which, if a fella is honest, weren't all that fun. It makes my knuckles hurt just thinking about it. But still. You know? It's fine. I'll just spritz some juice on it. Thanks for the memories. No kidding.

If you are using a band clamps on a hose you need to tighten it when the hose is hot...really hot... and make sure you really crank it down and probably use 2 clamps. It's called expansion and contraction....cold is rigid ...hot is pliable so when you crank it down when it is hot it will never come off!!

While you haven't told me how to work on a 2004 model of anything, you have showed that a guy with some tools can do just about anything. It's an '04 Malibu I bought new for a daughter.

I don't care what vehicle I get, the first thing I do is pressure wash the engine, so I can see what the heck I'm doing. Plus I keep all my car's engines clean for better cooler running. Also, would it not be a good idea, before putting all that time, work and money into nice, necessary parts, to flush the gunk out of the water passages in the block...? Nice job though, I live every moment with you as if I were doing it. You've got a wonderful family Derek, and I love the way you interact with your boys! You're nice to your wife too, and that's a plus... Keep your dip stick clean always...lol!
I love the way you use diesel oil to bring engines back to life! I did that long before they started bottling it with all those additives, just for that purpose. The miracle of synthetics has put prolonged life into my new engines and given more life to my old engines, plus made them run better, stronger, more economically, and cooler, with more hp. I'd like to here your opinion...?

Came with I nice chrome decal on the dash to let you know what you had. Probably not an option that people would go for on a Tennessee truck

Hey Derek! So glad to see Bentley going for a drive with you. Back when I was his age, shoot, all of my childhood and teens, I went with my dad every chance I could. My dad worked a lot. Never saw him through the week. He worked in a steel mill 3pm-11pm and worked for a contractor trimming houses 6am-2pm. Saturdays he built decks for people. So Sundays were really the only day I got to see my dad except for Saturday evenings and when I was old enough, I went with my dad to help him build decks. More like be in the way. HAHA. Lost my dad to cancer in 2017. What I wouldn't give for one more ride with him. The Harley in my picture was his. He bought it brand new. 2005 night train. It's mine now. My mom gave it to me for as my dad and I used to ride together.
    Have a great day!
Oh yeah, I think you should do the exterior and then the interior.
