Boycott any establishment that no longer accepts cash.
It’s the way the world is going. Everyone went cashless in the pandemic and a lot have stayed cashless probably because it’s easier than cashing up at the end of each day
💯 agree mate
@@richardhinchliffe1678 Good man!👍🏻😀
It depends... It should be a balance. I know Takeaways that takes cash only, don't declare all the money. And one type of takeaway in particular (reserve the name of the ethnicity) it's said that have to put some of that cash in an international bank for that regime... We have that bank in Manchester. But the same model operates all over the world.
Apparently uk going digital money next year
Tim Hortons (Tim’s or Timmie’s) was founded in Hamilton, Ontario in 1964 and was sold in 2014 to the Brazilian global investment firm 3G Capital (owners of Burger King) for $12.5 billion.
No cash?
No custom.
Tim Hortons was definitely popular when I was in Toronto and I would say it's much better there too. The coffee is made different, here are all automatic coffee machines but there they froth the milk separately.
They also don't sell burgers or hot dogs in Canada and have sandwiches instead.
When my wife told me that the Prime Minister of Canada got re-elected, I thought she was lying.
It’s Trudeau.
Badum tish 🥁
Hahahahaha
For an awesome crispy fried chicken sandwich go to Miami Crispy Chicken in Burnage, Manchester. There are often 45 minute lines outside, sometimes 2 hours, people travel from all over the country
45 minute + queue, 😬.
Each to their own
Falling Down, I think is one of the most underrated movies "In The World". Probably because the hero is also the villan? Also if you know Bristol at all, on a house you could see as you exited the M32 J2 was an early Banksey depicting the Falling Down promo poster! Not there now, drove past today.😪
Emmental is a hard cheese that originated in the area around Emmental, in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. It is a traditional, unpasteurised, hard cheese made from cow's milk. It has a mild taste, fruitier aroma and thin rind. Pronounced - Break 'Emmental' down into sounds: [EM] + [UHN] + [TAAL]
Tim's is everywhere here in Canada and is basically a go to for coffee, donuts, and sandwiches. Not really in US except for the odd one in states that boarder us here in Canada! Tim's is to Canada what Dunkin Donuts is to the US :) Happy to help anytime you have a Canada question!
The crispy chicken is not that great here either, these extra menu items are not what they are known for 😊

Came to live in Canada 40 years ago from Lancashire - I learned Tims was a Canadian tradition; then basically a coffee and doughnut shop, with a few sandwich choices. It was good value back then, but has become very pricey now. They changed their coffee supplier which isn't now as good as it used to be and I believe they were bought out by a burger chain. Ever since then their menu offerings have quadrupled, but the quality has gone. My city has a population of 47,000 and has 15 Tims franchises. Its still popular, despite everything.
Emmental cheese is swiss yummy !! :)
"Emmenthaler"! 😂
I visited a friend in Canada in May. Tim Horton's (over there), was amazing. My favourite eatery there.
great video about the hype or down side, but best part is falling down scene from 1993 , for a Few minutes I was thinking Lee is William "D-Fens" Foster , does he, especially in the end with the siren sound 😂😂🚲
A bloke that does food reviews has never heard of one of the worlds most famous cheeses 😂
IKR 🤣🤷♂
I've heard of Aldi Sharp Cheddar.
I don't know if Canadians rave about Tim Hortons, but they are incredibly common in Canada. Even very small rural towns have them.
The outtakes are very Alan Partridge 😂
The inside of that roll looked like the underneath of my garden shed.
Emmental is a wonderful hard Swiss cheese, the one with holes in it.
The breakfast wrap was my favourite too,I agree with you Lee,they should bring it back x
The restaurant and car park being empty kinda tells a story. 🤷♂️
I tried the one in Glasgow once for there breakfast wrap and it was lovely as well as coffee and the timbits were lovely too... Although only been that once
Hi Iain , I've also enjoyed the food in the Glasgow branches . Did ya know the first Tim Horton's in UK was in Glasgow , because the CEO at the time , spent his early childhood in Scotland and loved visiting his grandparents in Clydebank and walking along the river , so he wanted the first UK branch on the river Clyde . Best regards .
Hey Lee
Tim's here in Canada ain't nothing to write home about
I just stick with there coffee
Cheers mate
Hope to see u across the pond soon🇨🇦🇨🇦
im in canada even there coffee is crap lol
The Tim Horton's in Dunstable is always empty aswell.
They’ve done a similar thing in Blackpool with Taco Bell. Tacked onto a dying leisure estate with a closed down Odeon, closed down Frankie & Benny’s and a half built bingo hall.
Madness.
These establishments need to be in town centres to have any chance of survival.
Milk shake looked nice though ;)
Very beautiful video 👌
Tim Hortons in Canada is delicious. Its not the same in the UK.
Loving these reviews 👌
Been to Tim Hortons several times in Canada deffinately extremely popular and the best coffee you can get.
The best thing was the Frappe?
I'd say the best thing was the exit. That looked horrendous.
The bloke who walked in then walked straight back out again says it all.
Never 👂 heard of Tim hortens😮 you learn something new every day and I've even parked in that car park 😂
Im yet to visit tim hortons lee we do have one in Birmingham ill try it out and see for myself. Keep up the good work loving the videos, having a macmaster evening now watching earlier videos love it! 👍
Cheers Lee you just saved me a tenner, one of these just opened near me eh.
Card only loses my custom straight away
Burger looks delicious
There 1 in Crystal peaks shopping centre in Sheffield love 🎉
You need to come to Canada to appreciate Tim Hortons mate. We have a breakfast sandwich called the Farmers sausage which is really good.
I visit Tim Hortons daily in Chester. Staff are fabulous and I get drinks daily. Frappe s and hot chocolates are amazing. I do not really like their food however its a small part of the menu. Donuts and Coffee is their speciality. Love your vlogs Lee.
We went to Tim Hortons Mansfield one lunchtime and it was packed! Good selection of items, would love to try the frappe 😊 xx
Lol I just moved back to the UK from living in Canada for 17 years, Tim’s was my go to at least twice a day for my steeped tea and bagels. When it’s done right it’s the best when it’s bad it’s really bad. There on every corner in Alberta pretty much and it’s everyone’s staple, I’ve even had job interviews in them but next time stick to the doughnuts and steeped tea 😀
We love tim hortons coffee. Best coffee from a fast food restaurant.
Also you can get a breakfast wrap meal and a drink for about £4!
tried this , the sea gulls loved it , tim hortons take yourself back to canada .
Tim Hortons in Canada sells very different prepared foods. Their current media push in Canada is for their new flatbread pizzas. They don't do beef or chicken burgers however they do a crispy chicken wrap here. They do the same donuts and timbits (donut holes) as you seem to get in the UK however in Canada they use GMO ingredients like high fructose corn syrup in their donut icing (not good - sticks to the roof of your mouth). They do however make an excellent raisin tea biscuit which is as good as any scone I've had anywhere in Canada.
I like their coffee and all the sweet stuff,i never really fancied the savory foods,im in warrington and our branch is always busy..
I tried Tim Hortons once, really didn’t think much to it, the drink was the best thing about it
On my last trip to the USA, I had my first Wendy's Burger and it was the best fast food Burger I have had in my life...GO-Wendy's
You can’t get a seat late in the evening in Manchester, lots of couples 😜👍
Only 2 in Texas, Houston and the other Katy (outside of Houston), frankly I am not inclined to make that haul for just another ‘same ol’…same ol’ fast food burger or Tim Bits (doughnut holes), you can get those anywhere.
I used to visit a timmies in New York State on my way back to Canada from boston
I'm from Canada i don't go to Tim Hortons anymore. They are just not the same since taken over by owners of burger king. They are very busy here in the mornings for people on way to work getting coffee.
I actually first tried tim hortons in Toronto 🇨🇦
Hi Lee! I live in the suburbs of Detroit and I can tell you that there is minimum 8 Tim Hortons within a 6 or 7 kilometer radius from where I live. Morning time the drive thru is backed up like you wouldn't believe on all of them.. I think that the vast majority is getting their fix on the coffee. Tim's are also in Ohio and Indiana and believe it or not are very popular in Dubai. I've been to Dubai 5 times and the Tim Hortons are always busy. The menus are vastly different from what you show me in the UK. Not much of a menu that exceeds the breakfast offerings in Detroit. I can't speak for the Canadian stores. But I can assure you people love Tim's coffee. Not much business past mid/late morning around Detroit. I think perhaps the UK is a Beta test site for everywhere else. Cheers! Motown Mike
Hey Mike!!! Hope you're well. 👍🏼
The UK. Tim's menu is different than in Canada, especially the sandwich offerings. I heard no crunch at all. I'm sure that if you ate a Tim's in Canada it would be a different experience. I just noticed something as well, that you do not have the electronic menu boards that we have in Canada, this surprised me. Tim's coffee is very famous and popular in Canada. I think that they market it as 'Maple' in the UK just because of the association that it has with Canada. I'd give your sandwich, Lee, a 3.5 on appearance.😢😮.
im in canada - even though they have 3500 locations - its ok for a drive through for donuts and maybe coffee or tea ortherwise food wise its crap - just convenience of driving through in the morning on the way to work.
Lived in New Brunswick Canada, Tim Hortons was great for coffee breakfast sandwiches and doughnuts. Anything else not worth having. They are very popular tho
Lee, I have noticed on many of your videos emergency services in the background. What happened to the old traditional up-down sirens of old. They now sound like American sirens now....New York etc.
All gone. All American sounding. 😮
The sirens in New York used to be traditional when I was a child in the 1950's... and I should know, I lived within 1/2 mile of a police station, 2 firehouses, and 6 hospitals.
There used to be one in New York City near Macys. I don't know if it is still there.
Macman, not sure if watch Joel Hansen but @1.50 into his 5minute burger challenge posted yesterday i think you will appreciate it and have a chuckle 👍🚗
Is there a auto heart button? Or did macmaster actually enjoy my comment
Nope. It's Me. :0)
@@TheMacMaster how exciting 🙃
You're too hard on yourself Lee 😂😂, that old bus terminus is a real estate developers dream, similar to here in South Africa and anywhere else in the world...don't leave commercial activity to public servants, they don't have a clue and your description of them is spot on. Oh yes and now we all know why Tim Hortons is quiet. When I went to their outlets in Vancouver, the food was great...better than McDonald's 😊
I agree
😊😊😊 Tim Horton’s is OK😊😊😊😊
The one nearest me was deserted last time I went near it (I had been to the Five Guys on the same retail park which was brilliant)!
Tim Hortons isn't a burger chain - its a coffee house - so very different
@@Thomasccanada I wasn't directly comparing Tim Horton's to Five Guys, it just so happened that me and my friend who I'd been there with had a walk round and surveyed what else was there not knowing what Tim Horton's was but it looked very quiet!
Breakfast is great but the new maple donut is lush
One to be avoided given your experience Lee ❤
So here's my take: What you had there was basically a glopburger. I can't imagine anybody going in there as a destination for the purpose of having a burger. Canadians all rave about the donuts, and when I've had them in Canada, they're fine. I just looked and there are a few outlets in NYC and NJ, but I've never been. The standard around here is Dunkin' Donuts, and on the rare occasion when I want coffee and a donut, that's where I'd go. In many parts of the U.S., the standard is Krispy Kreme, but I prefer Dunkin' (just two or three particular types... I'm too old to experiment with donuts). My theory is that if I try something new, if I don't like it I'd then just have another choice that I know I'll like, such as a French cruller, but that makes two donuts and I shouldn't even have had the first one.
There's a theory in the chain restaurant business that anything can be made better by adding bacon, and barbecue sauce... also cheese. A burger should not be a confection. We already know that there are perfectly good one-off burger places in your area; you've shown them. However, there's no accounting for, or arguing about, taste. I don't think even Canadians will be seen running in and out of there, and I don't think it will be there very long.
A note about fast-food invasive species spread: I notice that there are now a couple of Jollibee's in or near Times Square. Not on my list, bucket or otherwise. I already have my favorites, and they're all pubs or one-off local hamburger & hot dog places.
Have only tried the breakfast wrap meal. Never mind Lee, try somewhere else next time xx
There’s a Tim Hirtins smack in the middle of Glasgow city centre , just off Argyle street, wouldn’t be one of my eateries but I have had breakfast out of it and it was very good , it allways has been busy when I have been , location is the main aim here
That was the first Tim’s hortons in uk, there is another one in city centre
Loved the fast exit at 17:42! Was he one of your "extras"?
Love the vid', Lee.. "That's craaaaaaaaap"
That looked unappetising. Loved what Lee had done with his hair - There's Something About Mary!
fast food restaurants microwave theyre bacon always under cooked
Horton's in Michigan, always busy
There was a Tim Horton's directly across the road from a flat I was staying at in Winnipeg many years ago, they had a steady trickle of customers throughout the day and evening but I never saw them really busy and I never went there myself. I did manage to track down a curry place there but that was a bit of a disappointment however they have Chinese takeaways on just about every street corner there and they were usually very good I thought.
1…….that’s definitely NOT going to be controversial!😀
Got to be desperate to visit timmies here in Ontario, usually as they have them in the boonies where I live as well as on nearly every gas station and corner. Most use the drive through, we have a plethora of alternatives and for me the wife does way better nosh at home. Try taco bell one of my favourites and Wendy's for burgers.
You tell em macmaster.
There is a Tim Hortons near Trafford centre and that one’s pretty good,I guess it all depends on the store and staff
We have a Tim Norton’s in Washington in north east , been once , won’t go back ,
The breakfast is terrible in the uk too u must have got lucky last time, the coffee is nice but would give the food a miss big time
Been to Tim Hortons a couple time at my nearest one in Dunfermline. Coffee really good and so are the milkshakes, frappes etc. But when got food has been bit cold i think this is due to it being quiet and maybe have the fast food lying for a bit and not cooking as much.
Not for me Mac, back to the Fish n Chips and curry sauce 🙂
I would only give that a 4.5 and I've not finished watching all the vlog yet..and now watching all of it yes dogs would probably spit it out
We have a Tim hortons near us in broughton just outside Chester and i never see anyone in it always empty. we tried it when it first opened and after three visits we never went back due to various issues and lack of consistency and if i remember i don't think Tim Hortons have fryers its all oven baked. Breakfast, doughnuts, coffee or frappe its fine but hot meals give it a swerve.
To be honest I've never heard of it but sounds like I'm not missing much 😊
As a Canadian now living in the UK I can tell you that Tim Hortons is a Canadian institution. Im not sure why but they absolutely love it. I find their coffee extremely weak and tasteless and the food is very bland and plain. Ive never been to one in the UK yet and probably would drive right by if I did see one. Not missing Tim Hortons at all. However, if you are ever in Bangor Wales you need to stop in at the "Blue Sky Cafe" for their full English or breakfast hamburger. My son and I love your videos. We watch them all. Thanks Lee
Great honest review 👍 I hope the superglue used in the burger toppings was edible 🫣.I found American or Canadian establishments always better in the county of origin.👍
Crikey, you're braver than I am Lee. No way would I put that abomination into my body. In fact I wouldn't even feed it to a politician, let alone a human being. On a scale of one to ten, I'd give it minus six hundred and sixty six trillion.
A few Tim Horton's in Erie county Pa in the US. Don't know about the rest US.
A big difference as long as its tasty Lee
I agree with that not everybody can afford to pay on card it's unfair being told to that
Get a grip 😂😂😂
Loving the outtakes 😂😂😂
I had no idea that there were Tim Hortons in the UK. The coffee and donuts are definitely popular here. Honestly I don’t have a clue if their food menu is. I’ve had their soups, sub sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches and they are all pretty decent. Who knows maybe the quality varies from shop to shop and you got a bad one. Anyways thanks for the review Lee, I’m always interested to hear people in other countries thoughts on our most famous coffee shop. 🇨🇦
4.5 that's generous
I'm trying to figure out if you have very large hands or if it's a fairly small burger
emm-en-tarl cheese..... surely a man of your knowledge lol
All Tim Hortons stuff is feh! From a Canadian too
It’s all kicking off 😂😂😂😂
They have Tim Hortons all over the Northeast US, including several in the NYC area and as far south as TX and GA. There used to be one in Penn Station and a few stores in midtown but they shut down a few years ago. New York state has 242 Tim Hortons, mostly upstate near Canada (They're most popular closer to the border). They are all over the place in Canada and very popular there. The one in Park Royal, London is always packed, especially late at night. Mostly Arabs, Somalis, Indians etc because they love coffee/donut shops and Tim Hortons is big in Dubai. Also, the food menu in the UK is nothing like in Canada, for example there are no burgers, fries or chicken burgers served in Canada. The Tim Hortons food menu in Canada is much better and better quality. Even the donuts taste different compared to Canada. It's much better in Canada generally.
Looked like a happy meal burger from McDonald's 😂
Crispy, oh that reminds me, I need to wash my underpants, if they are crispy, they've gone past the pasta test, that's when I throw them at the wall, and if they stick I wash them. I'll do that now, cheers.
hi lee thanks for a great review at least you did not need to queue and the food did not look very appetising.why does the bread bap always drop the pieces when attempting to eat it. i use to go to mansfield most weeks years ago and oh how it has gone down hill now i always thought change was for the better obviously not now thanks for your genuine reviews. look forward my friend
How long you had that trainers now?
@golfpunk1903 Ever heard the quote? if you have nothing good to say then don't bother, its not a clothes and trainer review. And if your looking to pick fault, then you should learn proper grammar.
