Thanks for the great guide mate! i'v always been a bit iffy about being a combat engie, but this really summed it up for me
That's awesome to hear dude! Hope it serves you well 🤟
Insurgent Sapper is peak gaming experience. Insurgents in general are very unique style, in a genre clogged with same same FPS.
The dirty tactics you can play aswell just makes it so lethal too

That "special power" you are asking for is... *alcoholism* alcoholism, alcoholism, alcoholism.
As a former "12 Series" (Army Engineering MOS designation series) who worked with 12B (Combat Engineers) and the US Army Engineer Corps, is that alcoholism is how every jobsite, route-clearance, or S&D type anything gets done in a timely manner no matter how much Army beaurocratic red-tape gets in the way.
One more tip: place your mines in shady places. As in places that have shadows projected onto them, because of course, that makes em even harder to see. Dont just place mines willy nilly, youve gotta think a bit because a decent driver will be on the look out for mines. If i want to mine wooden bridges, i place my mines directly behind the bridge instead of on the bridge, because wooden bridges are makeshift options, meaning the actual road is lower than the bridge, so theres no way people can see the mine, because its lower than what they can see. In other words, fight smart not hard, be a bigbrain engineer
We need to start a campaign to rename C4 as “spicy playdoh” and mines as “boom frisbees.” hooah!!
Barbed wire fence should be "The washing line"
@@A_Honcho Nah... "Angry curly fries"
@@bogroll5914 hahaha
I’ve always called the mines platoon sized tuna cans
Instructions unclear. A building of mine exploded and now my gun is glowing and electrified. I can now build turrets too.
the point of the sapper's rocks are to play mindgames. You can use them to hide actual mines, pretend you've hidden mines, hide a mine while acting like you DIDN'T hide a mine and are bluffing, etc.
I've found that they're incredible because you can actually fuck with your opponents by making them either go to disarm it which can score you a kill or slow down an enemy advance/retreat, or you can make them divert around the rock which can lure them into an ACTUAL antitank mine. Better yet, you can also make them second guess whether the SECOND rock further down the road hides a mine or not.
It's basically the equivalent to techies's minefield sign in dota 2, you use the rocks to shape your opponent's movements through an understanding of how they think.
My guy here knows what he is talking about^
I usually assume all rocks have mines underneath. Which is also why I try to avoid putting rocks near actual mines, as I feel like once mines have been marked on the map, people try to avoid or clear the area anyways
Not going to be that guy, but gonna be it.
The decoy rocks are meant to be deployed to make the enemy ‘think’ that there is a mine under there, leading them away from that to your actual mine.
Example, coming up on a two way lane, you can see further down two piles of the decoy rocks on the left lane. Thinking ‘oh there is a mine there! I’ll go right!’ And then driving down over the mine put inside of shrubbery or just buried below a lip.
People should listen to this man!
Quality guide once again.
Thanks dude 🤟
Thankyou, excellent!
You're welcome and glad you enjoyed it 🤟
On the Aus eng. they wanted to vary it up to see how the community felt about it. Time will tell.
I never thought of it that way!
Another strategy with abandoned/stationary vehicles is booby trapping them. IED's are obvious to use but usually a waste of time unless it's something critical like an APC or Tank. 9 times out of 10 a logi has driven into a tree or one way street/complex and gets left there until points shift and it needs to be used again. This is the time to strike. Destroy the wheels and place a mine directly behind the logi or close to an exit. Then forget about it. Some poor infantry man or engie has to run to the truck, repair the tires, then back up into the landmine. Not only has the truck been useless for x amount of minutes but adds an extra 5 minutes on top for it to respawn. It'll also just really peeve the driver and squad leader. This tactic works best on grass, but alot of peoples guards are down when they aren't on a main road.
Solid shout!
I usually put the mines right under the tires, so they're hidden and guarantied to go off
Only thing missing is explaining that explosive devices placed by combat engineer can pen through static buildings on the map.
I need to test further to see if it goes through player built stuff such as Hescos though
Oh hell, solid shout!
@@A_Honcho Tested a lot today. It seems the blast radius of the explosive literally ignores all obstacles for 5 meters damaging anything and everything. Nothing we build can stop it if it's within 5 meters . Pretty nuts
@@jessiecollins97 probably the shockwave would be pretty devastating through a solid in real life too.
Engineers can convert ammo to sandbags😮
I like being the combat engineer cause I'm one in real life
Oh nice
What the max number of mines CE/sapper can put on the map in 3.1.0? I always thought its 10 not 5.
It is infact 10, mistake on my end. However I'd rather only see 20 mines on a map than 40 😂😭
How do I dig stuff though? Do i need Fire team leader or squad lead or something?
No, all kits apart from Squad leaders have Shovels, Left click to build, right click to remove
If you die or switch kit does the mine disappear?
Die no, switch kits yes. I do mention this in the video.
Only need 8 shovel hits and a c4
💣
digging up, digging down bleeding off?? What's that then?
When using the shovel you can left or right click on your mouse. Left clicking and holding are used to build things, like HAB’s, MG nests etc and right clicking and holding is used to remove stuff. When the enemy radio is dug down and ”sparkling” it means it’s on a bleed timer and when the timer ends, the radio and everything build within the radius disappear. The health and bleed timer can be found on the top left hand of your screen.
i would like to blow things up also, i shall try using my hat
We have a video for that 👀
քʀօʍօֆʍ 😀
This is why destruction is the worst game mode. SL’s should get thermite grenades again
