Thank you so much! I needed this to know how to correctly and safely clean my wall heaters. After watching your video I feel much more confident and don't need to pay someone to do the work.

What should I do if I don't know which breaker controls the heater unit? Mine keeps tripping the anti-fire safety, so I definitely need to clean it out.

Great video. How long would you say that heater had not been cleaned before? How long did it take to get that level of dirty? Thank you

Vacuum and brush not ok?, just suck out the dust. What even little lint remains it will burn up quickly. Instead of blowing air inside and possibly trapping it inside the motor etc. why would you want all the dust particles in your room after you blow tons of air

    • @hauntedshadowslegacy2826
      @hauntedshadowslegacy2826 Před 2 lety +1

You could probably vacuum the dust up after you blow it into the room. The thing about vacuums is, they create static electricity. Brushes are not ideal because any amount of burnable fiber is not ideal- especially since these units have anti-fire safeties in them that shut the unit off the moment it detects something getting too hot (meaning the unit would keep shutting off until the lint is removed).
I get not wanting dust in the room; I have asthma. But, risk of fire is a big thing with these wall heaters, and it's the whole reason you're supposed to clean them in the first place. If it helps, try containing the dust to just around the heater by blocking the area off with furniture, storage bins, boxes, and/or yourself. Definitely wear a simple N95 mask, though. If you have a dust allergy, consider safety goggles and a shower as well.

Would this help if your heater is only blowing cold air?

  • @RaRaCruz

It just stopped blowing warm air after working perfectly for 2 years since i bought the house. Fan still blowing but no heat. I tried to press the reset but i don’t think that did anything. Does this mean that it needs to be replaced or is there a way to fix this issue without having to buy a new one?

Am I able to use a CS102 with thermostat to replace an X102 that uses a wall thermostat?

The heater is basically a box within a box. my Cadet has a pretty big space in between the two. There is a ton of dust trapped in between the two boxes. If I did this, it would drive it further in where it would be impossible to get at. I would suggest looking at your heater closely before you do anything to make the best choice of cleaning.

Would this wall heater be good for a small bathroom?

These are basically only good for small rooms. They are very drying as well. On the West coast they use them in newer contruction apartments, but they stink for cold winters.

I have one of these in my bathroom that turns off by itself in the middle of the night, my landlord said it’s because the air filter is dirty and to clean it out. Does that make any sense?

I would remind the landlord you are paying rent on his/her property. I do not know anything about your rental contract, but normally a landlord is responsible for ALL Maintenace on property they own, un-less stated otherwise in your rental contract.

use a old dry tooth brush to get the build up out

That doesn’t work if they installed them while they were still working sanding drywall . So i took a toothbrush and then vacuumed and then used hair dryer. They are cheap energy sucking crap. Don’t bother

Your video is very informational but the way you're speaking it sounds like you're talking to a five-year-old child. I get some people aren't very handy but I think this video could have been half as long. Just my one opinion though.

It’s always worth catering to the least capable people. Best way to teach is by assuming you’re talking to a 5 year old haha.
