    Nice summary... thanks... like the soap opera analogy.... wait for likely plot twists in next episode! Key takeaway is NHR sign up deadline and terms **may** be adapted to meet basic fairness obvious standards, regarding those who already made big financial and life commitments towards Portuguese residency e.g., Golden Visa app officially was in place a year ago, even if no one has even looked at it yet due to extreme processing delays imposed by Portuguese side!

    I am in the same boat. Started gathering all the documents in August, rented an apartment in October but it was on 19th and now I am waiting for approval for the D7 visa. I hope to apply for NHR next year if everything goes well

      I ended up getting my NHR early, so I'm thankful that is off my plate. I've not had a chance to do a follow up video - so busy trying to get packed and back over there by end of year. Craziness.
      If you had your D7 visa appointment before end of October, your visa could be approved any day now. I'm sure it will all work out and you'll be able to apply for the NHR by next year. 😀 Hang in there!

      I had the appointment in November so I'll have to wait a bit more. Hopefully everything goes well for both of us. Happy to hear you got everything sorted for NHR@@CORRTravel

    How about if you are, or enter as a student to a university or college would that get you over the hump on the road ?

    • @CORRTravel
      @CORRTravel  Před 6 měsíci

      I'm afraid I am not familiar with the process of entering as a student. You would need to seek some professional advice in that one. Sorry.

    I feel for people in your position! I’m still 3 years away from moving, but I’ve been doing the research for 3 years. Anyone who qualified for a visa, or had their rental agreement, or in the process of buying property, you should be good. If not, there are other countries people could go to, and it would make Portugal look really bad. I think Portugal want to be fair.
    For me, I just stay informed to make my decision between France and Portugal. I’m still rooting for Portugal, but my oldest nephews are French. My fantasy, is living between the South of France and Portugal. 😁

      Well, I'm not giving up hope. I'm sure it's all going to work out NHR-wise. 😀
      I like your "fantasy". I wish you the best in achieving it!

    Real estate speculation by foreigners is making impossible for locals to buy or rent a house

      I agree.

      Same in USA, Canada, Foreign chinese investment keeps proping up the housing market from locals. It's a world wide issue at this point, Portugal just likes to blame it on "foreigners" when its not really foreigners fault but their own governments they voted in doing.

    • @CORRTravel
      @CORRTravel  Před 6 měsíci

      @@pures1n I completely agree - this is a world wide issue. I travel a lot and see it everywhere. If laws are not in place to prohibit this situation, it will continue.
