I love this movie. I did have to check the time it was made. I thought I was watching a remastered movie from the 60s or 70s. It felt like I was watching another amazing movie from the past. I love Barbarella and Suspiria. This movie is great.
I used to live across the street from her Love House :) a great movie! The effort put into the settings, like finding everything at vintage shops or making them is commendable!
Love this movie. I've watched it twice already (once on Prime, once on Shudder). I was amazed by how much this movie looked and felt like a '60's movie. Glad you liked it, too!
I had to Google it to confirm it was indeed a modern movie!!
I can't believe I haven't watched this yet. The look of it is dead-on.
You would love it! Honestly I had to Google it because I refused to believe it was a modern movie
so good🖤
I love this film

@@MarieMcWilliams i am thank you beautiful lady x
have you seen Viva? Anna Biller's first film, it's not horror but is very much in the same 60s style as The Love Witch. It's not quite up to the same standard but is an interesting watch.
No!!! I'll have to see if I can find it because I loved the style of this one
I haven't seen Love Witch but it sounds like it would really be up my alley. 😻👩🦰🕷🕸 I can totally concur with your comment on Baz Lurhman's films as I really wasn't a fan of Moulin Rouge.
They're beautiful but I find them a bit empty! Lol
@@MarieMcWilliams I know what you mean.

So, did the Elaine character commit suicide after murdering Griff? The ending is ambiguous but there are subtle clues.
I don't think so personally but maybe that's because I don't want her to lol
It was filmed in my home county. (Humboldt County, California)
Oh wow!! It's a beautiful place! Is that gorgeous house there?
I've not seen this movie, but it sounds very interesting. Not a way 2 find your next love , already saying you may murder them. Run Dudes. LoL. 😁🤣
Hahaha I mean a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do
have you seen Eanstel vs Gretel and Book of shadows. Blair witch 2 Elvira Mistress of the Dark
I love Elvira!! And yes I've seen Blair witch 2 as well!!
5 out of 5, I agree.
So fun
it has spooky femme fatale vibes lol
Hi, um correction Ma'am it's a 2016 movie not 2018. 😊
Oh thank you
@@MarieMcWilliams You're very welcome. To glance at it , the damn thing looks like it was filmed in 1968! Lol
@@edwardbloecher4563 I know, I love that!!
@@MarieMcWilliams I hear Ya. I love the technicolor look. And the leading lady is very pretty. She actually plays Abigail Foldger in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.
Im sorry but after watching and reading many reviews i still dont get how this is supposed to be a feminist movie? 1. Elaine entire existence is focused on finding a husband. 2. I get the idea of the power of women but is the only thing we have our bodies? This movie perpetuates the idea that women can only be loved by men for their bodies.
The movie definitely isn't showing any of that as a good thing. It's showing how bad it is to make a point towards feminism. In this case, the story is all about how Elaine's point of view is destructive to herself and the world around her, plus how even her feminist friend can fall prey to that toxic mindset by simply wanting to be beautiful and desired. It also shows how the image of witchcraft can appeal to feminist values but also be misused and sexualized by creepy men. So it's kind of a cautionary tale if anything
And it doesnt feel satire, like a male fantisy? Because elaine talks down on men
