- Testing the $150 Custom Loop PC we bought on trade in, specs seem to be very old but can be a fun way to restore a once crazy gaming pc. We are going to put some decent money into this custom loop to make it actually good… Will it even be worth it?

People sell that kind of PC on Amazon and call it a high-end top of the line new PC
Maybe it’s just the best PC they’ve ever used
Until they replace it with the money you give them
Prebuilts and new market are overpriced, used and local is where its at
@frostmafia1380 absolutely 💯. Used over anything is where it's at. Just got an alienware m15 r2 with 10th gen i7 and 2070 super for $450. Yeah it has soldered ram 16gb but I think that's a steal
@@Dictatortot-n3d Prebuilts were actually decent investment when the GPU market was screwed. Now, notsomuch for anyone who can put build a basic PC.
On godard!
i feel sorry for the guy who sold it
200 to 150 is crazy 😂
You feel that way because you think it should be sold for more but it doesn't take long of checking marketplace to see how wrong that is, 150 is fair for this.
@@RichBandza not at all, I have seen systems with better specs go for similar prices in my area.
@@connerobrien1432 Remember, these people have a physical store.
They had to spend more to fix it up than he actually got for the PC. It's a fair deal imo
Pretty much a re-run of every episode of Pawn Stars. Just missing the 'I estimate its worth 100k..' 'ok i will give you 2 dollars for it'
@@beepster991 Err what?
My brother has one of those cases, he got it with a GTX Titan XP ... the Star Wars version (Dark side).
I actually have a GTX Titan, the original one, best way to describe it today is it would be a GTX 790. It runs, but DX11 and blower card only... so basically it runs at 70C, and it works on most games, but nothing that requires DX12.
The Pawn Stars parody was spot on for this deal.
Yo that thing for 150$ is crazy
That thing is ancient
Indeed, because it is literally worth 75 to a 100 dollars.
i7 2600 costs 5 bucks, the mobo 15, the RAM 15, the GPU 40 and 25 for the rest of the crap. And it will only play older games on decent levels.....
To put in another 200 on top of the 150 they paid for it's crazy, and stating someone could buy it for 400 is mental.
@@richardpastoor9336 people buy worse computers all the time by going to Walmart to buy that intel Celeron with 2 cores for $300.
PC Stars 🤔
man i was gonna say that 😂
I see people complaining how 150 is low for this, have in mind, a Titan is just a 6gb card which performs the same as a 1060 in a lot of titles...and because of driver support, many games won't even work with the Titan. So 150 for a 4c/8t CPU, 16gb of ram, 120gb ssd, 1tb hdd and a card that is not even a 1060, 150 is a decent deal, 10th gen i3s which perform better than this i7 go for 25-30 bucks, with motherboards costing the same, using a 1060 you could replicate this build but better for 200 with some patience and deal hunting.
Exactly. Titan's were awesome back in the day, but today a lowly 1660 can run circles around them.
I got a i3 11400f and gtx 1650 pc for 100 bucks
Its fairpriced yet underpriced at the same time. If it was a dell xps with a i7 2600, 16gb of ram and like a gtx 770 $150 would be about right. This machine has a bunch of overkill components that really should have been parted out.
I wonder if you could use dxvk translation layer so the titan gpu can use vulkan to render games instead
Spot on. Nowadays entry level hardware is already running circles around this old high end build.
Also... custom watercooling systems do not age well when it comes to resell value.
It always means a lot more work and problems to deal with.
It looks cool and I like it. It would be fun to have it as a secondary PC. It's a 2nd gen i7 and a 1080 is a better GPU than the Titan. So, it's just an acquainted PC with little to offer but conversation. The PSU is good but the GPU is missing the original fans. Who would build a newer custom loop and install that GPU?
The OG titan is more like a gtx 780
SP's us launch was in 2011, so while I believe that drive is newer than the PC, it doesn't have to be.
Also... I have a SSD drive that has an IDE interface... it is fun to play with. It also proves that commercial SSD's are much older than you think.
For specs it is a 128GB drive, and when new it ran about $10k.
The start is very funny
6:18 he said WHHAAATTTTTT!!!!!!!!
Intro is so hilarious
Love the consistency guys
Fun video. Loved the intro skit. Kinda wish the “expert” had high balled it a little though, then faux Rick come in with the “I can only do 150” to keep it more realistic to the show. Great stuff either way
The start was perfect
love watching your guys stuff, im a lousiville native as well and its cool watching the vids of locals!!! looking forward to the next vid. any roast my rig/setups coming down the line?
"please sir, I want some more....".
If you know, you know. 😏
When that song started, I got 6 million dollar man vibes: we can rebuild it. Make it better, faster, prettier. Lol.
That pc is crazy! An upgrade would make it even better lol
Cool refurb. Thank you for sharing.
I mentioned this in a weekend stream, but I want to capture it here in the comments.
I recently learned that some HP mini Elitedesk PCs could be equipped with a discrete graphics card, with 4GB of RAM. A setup with the pc, card, and 155w power brick could be an interesting mini pc build. Please consider the project. Thank you!
We have one in the office, giving it a go before we lock it in as a video
honestly, I'm kinda in the same boat. Recently bought a whole custom water loop pc off of fbm for 100 bucks. Works perfectly fine, but it too has a original titan card in it. Still figuring what to do with it haha!
This is the most work I've seen you guys do in a while.
intro was gold. well done gents. this was a fun blast from the past. (we're old.)
Yeah guys that looks SIIIIICK! Great job making that thing look Beastly!! Only let down by the i7 2600. Would make a great showpiece in anyone collection. WoW
You all can't stop with the awesomeness huh?
Dude the case is sick i would have payed 150$ just for that.
that case is huge
old gigabyte and antec cases are awesome, i had one with a full glass side panel and mustve weighed over 50 pounds
That totally needs the sith titan xp card with all that red.
Send that bad boy to Jays2cents. Old school EVGA and old school water cooling would get him going for sure
Yall killed this! Best video I have seen from yall in a minute. The build Gaaaaaugous.
did i just watch an episode of pawn stars lol
Upgrade it to the max, before getting rid of it. That would be fun.
my monitor cost more than that💀
fr
"This guy didnt know what he was doing"....promptly orders spring clamps and $17 waterblock
Hey we never said we knew what we were doing either....
@@ToastyBros 🤣
This video is a great reminder to never trade in your PC to people with a buy and sell computer business.
I mean that's across the board with any business. Just look at car dealerships, they low ball you on your trade in unless you're buying another car they can work a deal on... If you plan on buying from that business, you can work a better deal out...
well done boys well done.
Actually in thast era a lot of watercooling comanies just used distilled water and water wetter from the auto racing world as their additive, which is red...
Keeping things out of the land fill is always great!.. I would have looked around the shop to see if I had any CPUs that could upgrade it.. even if just a little. (old computer tech. i have to much old crap hardware in the basement.. lol) Looks Amazing!! red is very nice.
As soon as he walked in with the squinty eyed look I immediately knew Mr. Tewbs was an expert
Mr. Tewbs doesn't mess around
Ooooooh you know what this needs? It needs a Xeon E3-1280v2 just dropped in there for like $30 from eBay
Thank you guys i got to upgrade my pc after i watched your videos ❤
150$ was a steal
you understand the complexities and can overcome them makes it a more satifying job even if the cash is a bit not ideal -taking the time and effort makes it a bit more appealing to those interested and highlights a new potential value.
even though it's an old pc it's still good enough for some titles and it's also a pretty cool setup....i am not an nvidia guy, but i will say this is a cool pc and i would own it.
This reminds me when back then i was happy just having a EVGA 750 ti lol
Loved the intro! Creativity at it's finest. And the PC, what a transformation!
I like to check out your upgrades on the systems. I feel sorry for the guy who sold it to you. He should have came in for service. Then he could have gotten the upgrade service. I love the repairs and upgrades. Keep up the good work. Just waiting on the next build. :-)
Love me some Toasty Bros youtube. Love it guys Lol
Its... HUGE
Very cool Its alive..
The Titan in this system was an upgrade as I had one brand new paired with an i7 4770k which was the best cpu at the time back in 2013 .
I ran the i7-4770 non-K version for many years. It was a decent CPU and I loved it, I run an i7-12700 now and laugh at how the new i3's trounce the 4770's. {:>)
the halo 2 shirt is sickkkkkkkk
What's the price difference between a watercooler pc vs a regular pc without a watercooler?
Fam the case is worth 100$ ALONE FR MAYBE MORE
Was
The Content alone is worth the investment
I don't know if you guys have the room in your store, but it would be cool to have a section set up as kind of a "museum" of past high performance systems, just to show the history and how technology has advanced.
We sort of do have a small museum in a few spots where we have retro components, commadore 64, etc.
I would not pay more then $200 for this.
13 years ago me desperately wants this PC beast.
It's a Thermaltake Core X71 TG. I have the same case with a custom hardline loop. You can fit all the radiator you could ever want, plus I got to keep my 5.25 bay so I don't need a USB optical drive
That's a marketplace flip for sure. Someone snagged a cheap water-cooled Titan for cheap and cobbled together a "high end system". The SP SSD and RGB strip from a TV are a dead giveaway.
It would've been easier and cheaper to change it to air cooling... but since when does Toasty Bros go the easy way? 😅
The pawn shop bit really got me laughing
Mr Tubes got me laughing!
Mr Tewbs😂😂😂
Timmy's Dad probably paid Titan Rig 5k for that bad boy back in the day! Anytime someone with a complete PC for sale/trade that doesn't know the specs means it may not have been theirs at all.. Like tell me that PC isn't stolen or your ex boyfriends or your kid's. Maybe the kid is off at school and Mom and Dad are turning their room into an office... Happened to me once. RIP my GI Joe collection and yes I'm still pissed 20 years later.. 😆
Thermaltake core 71 case? Looks familiar.
That massive case is nostalgia vibes.
what about the games or stablediffusion can it do 1440p? lol
The montage is epic!
Bartholomew Tewbs😅
looks beautiful
wow very nice a few up grades and this thing could rock
Somethings off with the loop, most ek gpu blocks you don't use all four of the inlet/outlet ports. I have a titan x block from ek and if you run it like this there would be a limited amount of pressure to push the water through the gpu block (path of least resistance). You should cap off one of each side (top one side bottom other side) and it should come out of the cpu block and go into a radiator.
Pawn shop? More like Pwn shop!
It doesn’t matter if the loop goes from the gpu to the cpu; it doesn’t effect temps or coolant temps.
I Just build my PC and you guys helped me a lot
Way to step up the FUN!
Ah the expert that lives just outside the front door of the shop, ready to come in at at moments notice to provide expert analysis, before going back outside the shop to sit on a bench until next weeks show.
but if you pay shipping i'd be happy lol
matt, its going like this : Best i can do is 150$ :D hehe
Lol!😂
omg that intro
I would have loved to see you guys do a more modern soft tube build in that case.
how often do you see an i7 2600 in custom loop with a titan gpu ?
Once
Or more if you watch the video again
My PC has a bottleneck possibility of 55.1% 💀 I think I might have a bad PC. I get 20 fps in the smallest of games. I literally lag on CZcams 😭
How much ram do you have, and is it single channel or dual channel. And what cpu is in it, what gpu is in it
@@taylorouellet7068 I have a Intel UHD Graphics 620 and a Intel core-i5 Intel core i5-2400 3.10 GHz. I have 16 gb of ram not sure what the dual channel thing is though or single channel...
@Ethang2489 the difference between single channel memory and dual channel is that single channel memory uses only a single stick of memory. And the integrated graphics in an i5 2400 is actually the intel hd 3000. So it's much slower graphically. So much to where it's actually holding back the cpu and if it it just single channel memory, You are losing up to 20% performance on the cpu. Add in any low power gpu such as the gt 1030 2gb gddr5. You will see a huge increase in performance. It will go from lagging on CZcams to being able to do some light gaming
@@taylorouellet7068 Thanks for the recommendation!
That case alone is desired, those bottom compartment fan cases nowadays are rare. I'd pay $150 just for that case. Although I'd rather have the one you could fit a 560mm in the bottom.
This would be the best PC for a young gamer who wants to flex a big boy.
Me with my gt710 😢
I’m getting a rx 6650xt
That was so fuuuuun!
you think you could overclock it? 43 degrees is nice and chilly
Without it being a K processor not much if at all sadly.
The opening reminds me of those dumb pawn shop "reality" shows that were never real.
pawn stars lol
omg Mr. Tewbs
I bet an older brother gave this to his little brother and they tried to keep it going as long as possible.
put a whole new build in that case
W TOASTY BROS PAWN Stars!!!!!
Expert lol😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
IT'S ALIVE !!! Muhahahahahaha
the titan wasnt the first to hit $1000, that was the 690
Who TF is in charge of wardrobes in these skits
this would be a good server lol
