3S Swapping This 3D Printed RC Corvette May Have Been a Mistake 🔥

  • Does more power = more fun? The side view mirrors say no 😆. I spent an evening in the shop comparing a 2S powered FP UC1 Corvette vs one with 3S. Just the slight bump in power makes the car quiet a bit faster, but also easier to loose traction. Despite their small size, the N20 motors in these cars can propel them fast enough to be a lot of fun on a tight indoor track. Still not the fastest RC cars, but a cheap, simple, DIY option with some great scale looks. 👍

Thanks for watching everyone! Just a little video I quickly put together for fun since the CTC 01 assembly video isn’t ready yet. Thought it might be interesting to see how big of a difference 3S makes. Definitely made the car faster, but I've got to be more carful with the throttle now on that tight track. A few adjustments to the TX settings and some more practice should make this thing more consistent but with my driving skills that's a tall order. 😅

Tips to make it more stable: better suspension and better tires.

Yea dude! These motors are really useful! I’m in the middle of a 1/18 project using a geared n20 motor.

For sure! Good torque and speed options for just a few $. Great choice for smaller scale projects. 👍

@@MakeItRCor buy that 5$ DC motor with 85.000 RPM at 3V and 2A.

Wow congratulations on so many subs. They have really picked up from this time last year. I do all things RC but am looking into getting into your Motrin scale stuff. I might have to try one of your products.

Will the black 3D printed Corvette and matching wheels be available as files or full products? I'd love to do a drift version of the black car on a TG Racing chassis

    Ouch! The mirror!
There is not much more fun beyond 200 / 24 mph. For more fun you may want to try reducing the grip.

Honestly I don't think a mini z is much faster your at the limit of how fast your brain can actually process driving at the speed you were and thats fast enough. I think you should do a mini z time trial to find out I think maybe half a second at most which I think is a pretty good compromise considering the customisable platform and price point

You're right, on such a small track it's already pretty much at or beyond the limit of what I can keep up with. Maybe the biggest advantage a Mini Z would have is a differential. That might be the next step on this chassis as that would greatly improve handling, and prevent all that wheel slip.

@@MakeItRC the diff would make a huge difference you can get better tyres then aswell as you need the slip of the tyres with the solid axle just to turn properly. ive thought about making one with rods and tubing and printed ball diff carrier but would be more trial and error than I personally am willing to deal with

No sir you did exactly how i do to late 70s corvette by swaping smog up 350 for ls3 (irl you can mod 350 without the equipment too) so going form 2s to 3s doses make it faster too ( b.t.w this vette looks like poor mans knight rider don't you agree) anyway thanks for the video and have a good day bye now.

I probably don't even have to say this but 3s isn't even that hot at all for the R/C world. A lot of Tamiya is probably, maybe, 3s on the lower end almost certainly mostly 4s.
Also bragging about 3s batteries is like Nintendo bragging about 64 bits.
