- This talk is about the earliest complete records of real magical techniques in existence - the Graeco-Egyptian papyri from the 1st-5th century. It is from these that the later grimoires and other manuals of practical magic descended. These papyri contain literally hundreds of spells with detailed description of rites recorded by the magicians who actually used them. Do you need a spell to compel a lover to return, to evoke shadowy presences, to bind a spirit, to secure victory in a race or a negotiation, to see a god face to face, to deflect a courtroom judgement, or simply to send friends or enemies specific dreams or your own designing? All of these techniques will be discussed. Dr Stephen Skinner will describe these and more and show how mediaeval sorcerers used similar techniques, later handed on via the Key of Solomon, and similar grimoires, in a diluted form to the adept of the Golden Dawn, or modern practitioners of witchcraft. Many of these spells have lost a lot of details in this long transmission, but the Graeco-Egyptian papyri still retain most of the details, if you know how to read them. These papyri are the actual working manuals not just theories about magic.

People need to broaden their ideas about what a science is. We constantly add new fields of research in multiple fields. Magick in its many workings obviously counts if you go into the deeper readings, so many methods and workings as Stephen said have roots of commonality, even if they evolved from different sources.
We need to regain all that was lost, and take it further. I am sure their is yet far more to be researched and developed in the science of magick.

I hope he sees this or someone with a deeper knowledge does ive been going down a path researching spirits ever since my mom told me her great grandmother was a midwife and would summon "demons" she called them helper spirits to help birth children As you can guess when christians came after russia sold alaska they didnt like it and she was forced to move away from nome because of social pressure and had to continue her practice in secret in shismaraf it pains me to think that those incantations died with her because she was unable to teach her daughter due to boarding schools turning all natives into christians. I would love to know in depth who or what she was calling to help with the births to me this proves occultism because it was extremely rare to die in childbirth pre white man and they would have like 10 kids or more each you may think thats impossible but there was alot of darwinism why we respected our elders so much anyways if anyone knows anything about birth magic or what demon helps with births I would really appreciate it really bothers that my family lost that part of our tradition due to white man stigma and fear

It's just that the work done on organizing these systems between Plato and the renaissance made it clear to see the layering of systems and how they worked .And the understanding of the psychological aspects thus delineating superstition from occult science . There is still much work to be done for us not wanting to use the template of a monotheistic abrahamic system superimposed over something I see as being very vast. @@mariodark4012 the first thing you need to do besides meditate every day at the same time in the same place if possible if you need to figure out what it is you're after because you will only be effective if you are consciously aware of the purpose and the goal that you seek to achieve you need to be able to articulate it in high terms the higher self the higher mind it's not going to go along with things that are not understandable selfish desires things like that one of the best books you're going to be able to read is the Alice Bailey writings specifically the 'treatise on white magic" and "letters on occult meditation". there are many many other writings but these are some of the most in-depth and I have proven them to be true the information contained in these books helped me greatly when visiting other dimensions and I have visited them hundreds of times the greatest book the book that will bring you the greatest abilities and do so in the most natural way is the book Jesus gave to the world called A Course in Miracles you may read it and not understand why it does this but you'll never understand why it does it until you do what the book tells you to do I have been able to do things far beyond belief and in front of even my coworkers at work I've also been able to teleport my physical body to change into the other selves that make up my being. All the abilities and all the things that these people trying to get into these things wish they could do I have done I have been visited by being from other realms so has my son because my son after hearing my stories was able to do the same things and have the same huge experiences

The problem with coercing spirits and forcing spirits to do ones bidding one makes enemies of being waiting for one. After building up a large list of spirits who have it in for the magician the magician faces the end of their own life with a virtual army of enities waiting for them on the other side. The magician is then left with little more than thought forms of their ritual tools to imagine they have a wand or a lamen which is a very poor replacement for ritual tools charged and operating on home ground where such beings are the intruders or being drawn into this realm. It is one thing to control a shark on land with the proper tools but swimming naked in a ocean of hungry sharks is the fate of a magician who has spent a lifetime ordering vindictive enities about.

Because I dont know how to bind, I have remained with pre ceremonial protection, focusing on my original desire intention as not to be taken by temptions offered that are beyond my experience, and dismissal options.
Just saying, without the binding part I was still being catapulted into incidences beyond my experiences. Without writing too much detailed events. Also afterwards, I don't know if the following omens were connected but odd incidences of colorful exotic pets/wild animals started showing up which is not typical in my life. And also dreams of colorful exotic animals. It just had common elements.
I assumed this is the sign of the entity has showed up and maybe I should bind it to make it less unpredictable and make the entity manifest realistic offers that are according to my capabilities.

I am a bit confused about the term demon being used in Graeco-Egyptian magick- given that Crowley and other magicians rejected Christianity as true but accepted the reality of demons, than what is the orgin of demons outside theses traditions?

Outside of Christianity, I don't think anyone claims to know exactly how spirits came into being. I agree that accepting the reality of spirits but believing the concept of God to be ridiculous - is truly ridiculous.
Go back to the Greek language to find your answer.

The term Daimon in Greek means something like the upper inner-self or just self. So you see that it has none of the negative meaning that Christians gave to it.
In fact, for Crowley perspective you can say that the Daimon could refer to the holy guardian angel, most likely.
daemon was a greek term to describe one's own Guardian Angel or personal deity... you had the Agathodaemon the good one, and the Kakodaemon , the bad one... that's the term in linguistics but history changed its context!

Make sure you join Grand Lodge of state or prince hall Lodge if your state recognizes them as a non clandestine lodge . Most states converse and can intermingle except the few down here in the south. Spirits have functions they love to do what they do . You wouldn't force a God or angel to do your bidding why a "demon"
You miss the point of magick.
Demons/fallen angels only fell to help us learn and are actually our brothers (teachers) they want to teach the natural law of Earth. That's why you feel pain when you break one of these laws with our ego, greed, hate, lust and more. While our mother up above represents our law. Balance the 2 laws/powers then you can properly speak to yourself to either help those around you or you can be dangerous. As a human we have both qualities but which one are you when you remove everything away to it's essence.

How is the entity binded?
The men of the medieval ages thought they were talking about real magic too, but I think we've made it past that point. Most people today realize that the rituals used back then and even today are just methods of mentalism. All "magic" is just science, a mental science. It was about learning to change our alchemical properties to change our mind, body and soul. For humans we can achieve this with our minds. For anyone interested in real "magic" I suggest you read the teachings of Hermes Trismegistus and learn how to look past the text for what it says and look into its hidden meaning. If reading isn't your thing, there is plenty of information on other videos about this subject. Don't fall for magical spells people, that's not at all what they were talking about when writing these ancient practices.

TBH, the systems of the Crowley and most Magick today teaches the user to reduce everything down to energy and become "God" or the "Absolute" themselves. It preaches "self-divinity," which is the root of the ego you are seeing. Crowley may have been clever, but he did a serious disservice to actually properly spreading energy in the universe. Those that practice magick simply to affect their subconscious or clean their mind's "attic" typically aren't very arrogant, as it remains personal for them. Those that call upon random entities to serve their needs, and call on the powers of entities that want you to believe you are god are where you get into issues.
Magick is powerful, and can be used for good or evil.
I think alot of the supposed arrogance comes from being "passionate" about something that works so well for you. And then when people look at you weird it just pisses you off.

Zoroaster I’m kind of wary to step foot in magick, especially “spirit magick.” I used to deal with them from time to time. Don’t need to attract any more to me
Zoroaster oh definitely, but at the same time I haven’t been “physically harmed” by any. But I do have distressing nightmares where I’m either a murderer or I’m the one who’s getting murdered ( that or disaster dreams) and I used to have sleep paralysis too. I came to the conclusion that I was dealing with a spirit(s) when I saw an eight foot shadow figure go up my the stairs and into my parents’ study. My sister saw a shadowy spirit in her room too once, but refuses to talk about it because it scares her. I’m not sure if they’re demons, earthbound spirits or something else. The most physical thing I’ve experienced was when I got an invisible push by something, but that was a looong time ago. I stopped having these issues once I saw an apparition of my cat, who died two weeks prior to me seeing her. It could have been her letting me know she’s fine and that she’s moving onto the next realm or something, but idk. I feel like her presence is with me still but I’m confused.
(I don’t know if you believe in what I’ve told you, but I do find it very bizarre. The only entity I felt comfortable around was what I believe to be that of my cat. Everything else gives me anxiety lol).

So this is my testimony about getting back into the church after 10 years of being out of it. For awhile I was an atheist and then an agnostic, however, God delivered me out of a difficult and strange period of my life that left me without doubt of His existence and goodness.
It's a bit of a long read, so bear with me.
A couple weeks into February of 2018 I experienced some dreams of a strange nature during a time where I was isolated, depressed, and desperate. I've dealt with anxiety and depression for along time and I was at the end of my rope. I had considered seriously commiting suicide two years ago and when the depression hit this time I couldn't take it anymore. I was searching desperately for something that would allow me to leave the situation I was in.
I was addicted to gaming and was very isolated. I also fell heavily into a series of books I was re-reading at the time that I had a great obsession with, The Dark Tower series by Stephen King.
A few months into a reread of this series I had a dreams in February 2018 one of which I think was prophetic, having to do with seeing a woman and man in the dream that I later saw the next day while walking and while watching TV. This was a man and woman that I hadn't met or seen before.There were also aspects of the dreams (which I can't easily get into because it's difficult to explain due to the content) that led me to believe that The Dark Tower series having to do with parallel universes was real.
I became convinced that there was a world parallel to ours, like the books, that I could gain access to if I used certain objects that I had in my possession . After weird events also began occuring in my home, with my television, and with me, I told my parents about all of it.
They were adamant that what I was experiencing was demonic deception and that I should cease reading these books and give myself over to God.
Being stubborn and delusional I decided to continue in what I thought was a great discovery and a way out of my situation.
Events transpired over the next few days that left me in a state of confusion and despair. My father also ended up in the hospital that week. It wasn't until I began to cry out to Jesus that things began to change. I began to hear from God during this time. I felt like I should rid myself of the books as well as the stuff I had gathered connected to them.
I eventually ended up getting rid of all the books and objects connected to them, as well as a lot of other stuff including my games. We were doing some work in my room at the time so luckily I had something to help keep my mind off what had been happening as well as grow in the word from listening to 107.9 on my radio.
When we finally returned to church a couple weeks later the sermon and series was about the book of Daniel, some of which has to do with prophetic dreams and visions among other things. I know now that this wasn't a coincidence.
Once I started getting involved in the church again and reading the Bible I found out that these things really aren't as uncommon or unbelievable as they seem. My mens bible study at the time had members that had experienced supernatural and amazing things as well.
I know this isn't going to sound credible if you aren't a Christian. Back when I didn't believe, these stories didn't seem compelling or true to me. However I can tell you that if you reach out to God wholeheartedly he will reveal himself to you
I'd like to ask that if you're going through something right now, some kind of challenge or difficulty that you reach out to God and ask him to help you. Sometimes it may not seem like anything is happening, but if you're willing to hold on and push through you can see him move in your situation in miraculous ways.
