Greetings from Portugal. By far the best car reviews in CZcams. Obrigado!
Daniel Bacelar thanks and greetings back! I will be filming at your's on Monday/Tuesday
Hi Thomas I just wanted to say that I really love your reviews...your enthusiasm is what makes them so compelling! Keep up the good work! Bye
prav1976 really appreciated!!
Leonæå
Thomas, you know why I enjoy your reviews so much? Because you Know what you are talking about! Your in-depth reviews, cover just about everything imaginable, seriously you are the Gold Standard of Excellence for the Automotive Review Journalist.
Great review Thomas, and thankyou Autogefuehl, keep up the great work....I will be buying a new car soon, and will do so via the internet, using Autogefuehl as my reference research library.
Wow thanks a lot! Let us know which car you are going to order.
It's Thomas again! Gotta love him, always the best reviews ever!
thank you buddy! keep supporting us :)
This was very well done, Thomas! Thorough as always and fun to watch.
glad u enjoyed!
Thomas, you did that presentation very well. I liked it, well done.
You always have the most detailed reviews. Love them
thanks m8 !
Thanks for the Bentley ride Thomas!
Hello from England! A very good and thorough review. I would entirely support your views regarding the rear lights. Your reviews are detailed, thought provoking and I enjoy them very much.
Your English is really very good for a native German speaker. You sound like my Swiss-German brother-in-law :)
mikeymarmalade Thats very kind, thank you :)
Thanks for the vid!!! It helped me a lot. I like your full detailed review on cars. Keep up the good work!!!
COMMUNICATIONS: One other great feature that you didn't test, was how good the cell phone works in Bluetooth. I always got compliments on how good the speaker phone was in the car. Even in the GTC with the top down at 70 mph you could talk in a normal voice and Bentley has that all figured out. For those of us that work 24/7 it is nice to be able to take calls anywhere any time.
+Gordon Miller interesting!
you actually give an in depth review! :-)
thats what we do :)
Actually top level review. Greetings from France. Bertrand for Bentley.
It's healing by just looking at these spectacular designs!
I like the way that you make the reviews :)
i have subscribed in your
+bilany2003 thanks love to hear that!
Excellent review.
Hi Thomas! I love your reviews. As l'm fan of bentley, i hope you make a review on bentley flying spur 2020. Keep up the good videos. Bye
thanks! Hope you ve seen our new Continental videos?
I would certainly like to keep the circular headlamps, yes, up the lighting technology as it becomes available and you could still incorporate design enhancements within the classic circular configuration, it's a Bentley trademark
I'm also very entertained by your particular attention to the struts of the hood/bonnet and the safety stop for the boooot or trunk as we call it in Canada. Amazingly, I still close my trunk manually.
kevin n :-)
Thank you SO MUCH Bentley for not joining the new stupid trend of putting the infotainment screen on top of the dashboard. Keep it where it is....integrated within the dashboard where it belongs 👍.
They should have over million subscribers they have the best car reviews
thanks so much! Please recommend our channel !
@@autogefuehl will do
Nice review. 🙂👌
The reason that the GTR-3 has alcantara inserts is because the leather is too slippery for track use and the cloth grips better. That is why the Recaro seats in the Mitsubishi Evo were only available in cloth at first. The cloth does not wear as well so the Spur has all leather for durability and comfort. You also do not have the same heat and cool options with combo cloth and leather.
very nice and detailed review.
+Sajeev Ramachandran thanks !
Thomas, again excellent review and different to others in YT. It would be great to see your review of the VW Phaeton while it's still available.
Regards.
joako2706 Thanks! Hm do you really think people are still interested in the Phaeton? You just saw 1/2 of a Phaeton review though ;-))
Wonderful Review! Thank You!
Thx join us for more!
Great review as always Thomas! I'm lucky enough to have a friend that owns the V8 model and it's amazing!!!
Zachary Ong thanks Zach! Yeah the V8 is better imho :)
Same here, love the growl!
Zachary Ong wroooooam
Nice car and review! You are so lucky to get to test such exclusive models like Bentley, Ferrari, Porsche, etc.. I also think that color is the best for a fast British car. PS: what the Brithsh and the Germans also have in common is the platform this car shares with the VW Phaeton :)) .
+Dragos Teodor Bran thanks! Great to have you watching so many videos of us. Indeed Phaeton gave a lot of parts for that one
Great review
Bozidar Milic thanks!
Very detailed review, The flying spur W12, is a status symbol of a man success. in life.
it may not have the most fancy gadgets but it packs luxury and brutality in power like no other car on Earth.
it would be a honor to own one.
But you still deserve a 👍🏼 for your delicate approach
Powerhouse of a car, wouldn't mind one of these!
that white stuff around the logo looks like residue from polishing and not glue
10+ for properly dressing when testing cars. Bentley= suit. Others dress in shorts and flip flops. Thumbs up!
+Dan Alex 👌
That color is absolutely perfect.
The reason for having both a sim card and a hand held phone is that the sim card plays the phone calls over the cars speakers, the hand held phone is for private conversations. Its the same in Porsche.
Hi Thomas,
Awesome review once again!
Only thing I am not keen about this car is the green colour :), how did you like the colour since you had the car in person?
Keep up the great work.
Varun Kumar Thanks!! Well as I said it is fitting for a brit car, but I would personally go for a blue one :)
REAR AUDIO: You have to switch the rear audio system to the speakers from the controls on the front console.
Hi Thomas your review is really awesome man. Looking forward with same.
always appreciated!
Thomas, another very detailed review! Great! I agree, this car is very elegant. ;p I also concur about your opinion of the rear of the car. It just lacks the same finesse as the rest of the vehicle. Overall, I have to say that the car is very distinctive though. It really makes a statement and that's what people buying this type of car is looking for.
kevin n dito !
love it...my dream car.
Great review - you look at cars properly, in the round. Few reviewers would note the white glue at 4:42. When British and German designers and engineers work together, they can come up with stuff like this. I love the round headlamps - I used to like the Mercs when they used them. PS have you driven the VW Phaeton? Poor man's Bentley.
I have driven it as a co-driver a couple of times and talked to taxi drivers. All say that the Phaeton is a price-reasonable and underrated car. Noone wanted to have a luxury vehicle for less money obviously.
I love the Phaeton - to me it epitomises German engineering -- the hinges inside the boot, for example. An anonymous masterpiece.
SIM in the armrest is for the rear seat entertainment for data etc. As I said in my other comment, the "phone" in the armrest is not a phone but a bluetooth handset that is called a "privacy handset" so if you get a call and want to have a private conversation then other people in the car can not hear you. In most US cars, it uses the bluetooth phone that you have linked and it is just a handset in the EU it may use the SIM that the rear seat uses. Not sure.
Das ist bei weitem das geilste Auto auf dem Markt! Wenn ich mal Multimilliardär bin....gönn ich mir 'ne ganze Flotte!
AP.
Great reviews Thomas!
PS. You have polish sounding surname... Do you speak/read/write in polish?
uk574 Thanks! Yeah indeed, ancestors came from Poland some 4 or 5 generations ago. Tongue got lost on its way though ...
Yes the round headlights are classic
Thank you
+KeepItCrump :))
very nice
We already know that you love alcantara and leather combo, no need to say everytime though and for every car, great review as always :D
011Srbija thanks! We ll i am stating opinion against dead skin as there are even more non-subscribers watching the vids, our regular community has to suffer from repetitions then sorry :-)
***** No problem, just mention me in the next clip when you talk about that subject of the car, hahah just kidding (or if you can really that would be great :D ), i really like how you treat your viewers, replying to the comments and etc. Greetings from Serbia!
011Srbija sure I will do that :) thanks and best regards!
***** expecting next video with great joy :D
011Srbija that will be Volvo time!
This actual car is now for sale at Bavaria Motors Harelbeke (Belgium)!
+Bavaria interesting :)
such a nice beauty!
The key is more used to change over batteries , should the starter battery not work you have a second even bigger battery usually to power accessories that can start the engine.
Maybe navigation system works faster when the car is turned on. I believe some cars drop down cpu clock speed and overall performance of the hardware powering the system when the car are turned off cause of the lower electricity consumption. Not sure if thats the case here.
+quornash In my 2012 Bentley GTC that was exactly the reason. I am sure it is here too. Appears to be the same system. Not all of the features are available without the car being on.
what I love about british cars their so beautiful and timeless sexy and their a since of prescience and style along soul about a bentley or a jaguar
Same shifter from my 2004 Audi Allroad
dream car
Nice car!
The lagging driver's interface is ridiculous tho.
Stunning eyeglass frames, terrific suit, its drape and sheen, the shirt a superb match. As for the shoes and belt, well, what can be said except splendid choices, very tasteful-- what an all-together impact everything made! Very good. As for the car, something of a bust actually. Nothing about it was dazzlingly impressive, as one might otherwise have expected-- at least something about it here or there, after all, this is a Bentley. But only its grill, emblematic and timeless, still uber-impresses. The backseat refrigerator hogging, as it does, important "boo-t" space seems a silly effort to impress and the car itself, overall, not much more.
Other reviews are around 3 minutes. You clock in at 44. Nice job!
Welcome to Autogefuehl!
When I don't skip the ads do I make you more money? I hope so.
Luka Henigman always nice not to skip the ads! =)
+Luka Henigman i think the ad revenue only gets generated when having watched x seconds of the commercial
Favorite luxury car :) I love Bentley :D
Man,I was skipping ur reviews.thought ur reviews were in German which I don't understand....you are very good at car reviews.and i like ue accent .
would you be able to do a comparison of RR Phantom vs Bentley mulsanne...????????
such thing does not exist on youtube.
We do have some Rolls Royce stuff here: czcams.com/users/results?search_query=autogefuehl+rolls+royce
I have seen that.but why no one makes a rolls Royce phantom vs Bentley Mulsanne review.?????
is it impossible.????
It is very rare that you can get those cars, and to coordinate it to the very same date with two huge car transporter delivering them ... that's really tough
that's my car and f everything else. I love the letter B is everywhere.:)
Nice review nice car. Question- what headphones are those and are they good (isolation,soun...)??
Nineq 96 you mean the Bentley ones? tbh they didnt make the best impression to me just from the handling, but as the USB was blocked I didnt test them
***** yes i mean on the bentley ones.. Ok thx
Thank you Thomas for pointing out that there are leather alternatives! I'm vegetarian and re-wound just to make sure I heard a reviewer mention real leather isn't necessary. Danke!
thanks man! If you wanna know more about that issue: check out what the leather industry is trying to do:

Below this video you'll find more resources in the pinned comment to explain the topic even more in-depth.
Hi Thomas ! I really like you reviews, sadly most of the cars are too expensive to buy here in Denmark, even with a decent job. A thing you could improve is your camera man. I think your camera man should take a look on other car reviewers, here on CZcams, to get some tips and tricks. It sometimes feels, that the shots are not thought through. Keep up the good work ! Cheers from Denmark.
Sixt Thanks! Sorry what exactly do you mean with the camera work? About the expensive cars, yes, we ll also try to deliver you cheaper cars in the future. In general, we do have a wide variety
This car is loosely based on the A8L. With minor modification, the V8 comes from the S8. It has cylinder deactivation and lighter weight that reduces consumption. If I had the money, I'd go for the V8. I've heard both the V8 and W12 side-by-side. The V8 sounds much better. I like how the Haldex all-wheel-drive is standard. If equipped with an all-season tire, you can really enjoy all four seasons with no worry. Plus, no power is lost to slipping wheels. I agree with you on the navigation. Paying 200k euros, you should have the 4G unit from the A8. You are in the Mulliner model. I think there are 16 bull hides in that car.
A bit of interesting fact. Rolls Royce receives their BMW sourced engines completely built directly from Germany. Bentley, on the other hand, assembles the entire vehicle (including engine) in Crewe.
gbriank1 Definitely, I would also pick the V8.
nice review Thomas.i am big fan of BENTLEY and owned several of them however i am not happy with the recent design direction . Bentley suppose to be more unique in there approach and design its becoming BOLD with excessive use of plastic and cheaper wood and leather. Lack of B hood emblem is a shame so as the sheap black exterior door pillars
wish should of been stainless same goes for the huge plastic grill....totally un acceptable
from BENTLEY IMHO
Hi Thomas, A great review of a classic British Luxuary car. I think your comments about the driving experience miss the point that a Bently is designed for effortless cruising along the motorways/autobahns of the world. It's not, as you do say, a sports car, it's an extremely luxurious Grand Tourer.
A quick question. I've noticed in several of your reviews, for British cars, this Bently, the Jaguar XE & XF, the Range Rover Evoque etc, that all the cars are left-hand-drive yet they all have UK Registration Plates, eventhough you are obviously in Germany when testing them???? Why are they not German registered, as are most of your review cars? Just curious.
Jonathan.
hey Jonathan, thanks for the feedback. Well the left hand drive vehicles are of course also built in the same factory, and since those are cars that are press vehicles they sometimes are directly registered to the plant itself - to express it in a simple way :)
Thanks for clarifying that. I just found it quite odd to see LHD vehicles with GB plates, and wondered how that happened.
Thanks
OH, my car.....ok, my dream car :O I want this, an Aston Martin db9 convertible and some SUV....maybe a big mercedes one
The LX570 is a pretty nice SUV ;)
My S-Class has all of the features (except for the fridge) and costs a split of the price of the Flying Spur... I guess people buy this for image purposes mostly...
+MBS5004M there are a lot more differences between the Spur and the S-Class than just a fridge. The Bentley wins head to head contests consistently when run against S550, S55 or S63 variants. Even the S65 doesn't fair as well as the Bentley. I have owned and driven all of them and the engine in my SL65 (Twin Turbo V12) is the same as in the S65. The W12 engine is smoother, has more low end torque, and is more fuel efficient. It is also quieter, either due to cabin sound insulation or just engine management. Both are great cars, don't get me wrong, but the quality of the interior of the Bentley is light years ahead of the S-Class. The leather, wood and metal in the Bentley is superior in every way. the NAIM sound system is an insane 1,100 watts of pure perfection in the Bentley. All of these comparisons are validated on CZcams if you check other reviews.
My Mistake as i saw the registration was english so i assume you were in england.
Are you revving rollroyce or peddling an Audi ?
Will you be reviewing the new Flying Spur?
yeah, new Continental review coming up soon!
Autogefühl thanks, I love your reviews!
In Norway it's over 300 000..
I think it wasnt glue on the W12 logo.. its wax I think?
Hmm maybr
Maybe :)
+EGGBIRDTHEROOSTER Since these cars are still made in England and not Alabama, they have to be shipped over by boat. So that the salt ocean air doesn't damage the finish, various coverings can often be applied to the cars to protect the luster of the original finish from the factory. The car just wasn't detailed fully at the time of the video. Easy enough to clean up.
As to the delay for the push buttons on the display, I will say that it was the one aspect of my GTC that I hated. My PhD work is in Human Factors Engineering and that delay is annoying as hell. I was told by Bentley that it was done on purpose to keep people from using it while the car is in motion and also to get people to slow down and enjoy the aspect of using the system and to minimize input errors. I hear all those and I still say it is crap. I think that there is a huge delay because they have a very inefficient routine for interpreting input and a poor choice of input hardware for the screen. It is by far the biggest downside of all the Continental range, GT, GTC and Spur. Even a software upgrade could cut the delay in half. It makes using the screen while the car is in motion very dangerous. The upside is that the voice module for voice input is amazing. In the 2 years that I had my GTC I don't recall any time that it misunderstood a command. So, just use the voice input and you will love it again.
+Gordon Miller good info thanks!
If you're going to daily drive a car, would you take this or an S65 AMG ?
+IEEM01172 Hmm... S-Class leads in technology, the Bentley arouses more attention. I probably would take an S300, S350 or S400 as these versions are also available with cloth seats!
+Autogefühl What I dislike about the Bentley, and most uber luxury Marques (Rolls Royce, Astron martin, Ferrari ...) is that people give you dirty looks when driving, so it's not really the car's fault. An S65 can be as luxurious and quick, without making the driver look like a snob :) .
This is a bit off topic, but is there any chance for you to review the new Dodge Viper GTS ? It's very different from most European cars, and I wanted to know what your impressions are.
Thanks again for the reply , and keep up the good work (very insightful and entertaining reviews)
+IEEM01172 Aston martin* (autocorrect ......)
+IEEM01172 you re welcome m8. Dodge not available here for me, cannot get their cars sorry :/ But Corvette and stuff is possible, seen our Corvette C7 review ?
+Autogefühl I believe I did , but there's no harm in watching it again :)
How tall are you I'm 6'6 and want to know if this car is good for me or not
+Egg21 6 ft 1
I prefer the older styling for some reason... the model before this
The Bentley Flying Spur is a great ultra-luxury exotic car, but the S65 AMG is a better daily driver.
+Indian Warrior because he is 100% right. for 200k euros this car really isnt that nice man
***** thats also true :)
+marc1093280 Thanx for your in-depth, personal experience all knowing advice.
Thomas ... i really think Bentley need to loose that enormous gear lever ...i think a it is a bit of a bother when you have to touch or press the small buttons infront of it..especially in the PARK mode.... a small round selector button like the one found in the Jaguar Ftype ...wou'd do better...
+Pholela Mapeyi good aspect
But the width of the rear death doesn't seem to be more!! Is it true. Pls reply..
Thomas. You’ll like the new 2020 Spur. You can have it with no leather.
Really? Thats new? Tell me more
It’s been released today. Look on the Bentley site or Carwow CZcams
Ooh that now edgier rear looks so much better! I really didn't like the old more roundly shaped behind it looked a little like and old ladies butt imo. :p but the new one looks many many times better.
Really Thomas, white glue, its polish because of the rain....
Maybe the headphones are wireless, and the USB is only for charging?
PhantomTD Hmmm... good idea. They didnt look bluetoothy to me
Great review.
The car is however really an old design. The dashboard still resembles old Phaeton (highly). The armrest with the phone and the storage underneath is exactly the same as old D2 A8s. Of course, only the FS has leather everywhere, but underneath it's the same old design.
Also, while the engine is unnecessarily powerful, it's hung completely in front of the front axle (like all Audis / VWs / Seats / Skodas). Not really suitable for this class of cars.
+goddesseddog thanks! And I agree!
+goddesseddog the front half of the car is exactly the same, interior and exterior, as my 2012 Bentley GTC. The "family resemblance" to the Phaeton is not by accident but because a significant number of folks from VW who worked on the Phaeton also working on the new Continental and Spur cars. The phone is a "privacy handset" and if actually very helpful if you get a call and you don't want to share the conversation with other people in the car. As to the engine being unnecessarily powerful, this car has the same W12 engine that my GTC had and I find that the engine was quite suitable given the massive weight of the cars. I had a 2004 Bentley Arnage before this and the 6.75L V8 from that car is terrible. The compact layout of the W12 is only 3 cylinders deep vs the 4 deep on the V8 cars and as such, I find that the weight bias is desirable. A "mid-front" engine layout would have taken up way too much wheelbase and interior space and this is a suitable compromise.
Looking quite old fashioned now
Looks so mafioso, this one..
Good wrk again , but i agre with '' sixt '' your camera man should do a little better work
1Messii Thanks! What exactly could we improve ?
Bentley will upholster the car in Alcantara if you insist through its bespoke programme. Bentley wird das Auto in Alcantara Polstern, wenn Sie durch ihr maßgeschneidertes Programm bestehen.
I have not recieved the anneversary gift because some destroyed it
baffled to see how bad the touch screen responds when working with the map. a $400 tablet works 3 times as fast. good enough for a 300 K car. OMEGA LOL.
Thomas your old brown shoes go with the colour of the car......................touching
€165,000 isn’t too much for this beauty.
To complexe, very very, over the top
for this price i would rather buy a rolls royce. way better infotainment system(bmw based) and the interior is way more beautiful and expensive looking. plus u can also customize it to your liking so choose leather which isnt made from animals :)
+Foer Hoen true point with the real leather, indeed with Rolls-Royce you can get EVERTHING you want them to use. See also here: czcams.com/video/gZkNuYvAyXo/video.html
***** yep iv seen that review. Rolls royce is amazing in every aspect
when you drove out you were on the wrong side of the road unless you were in mainland europe
☺️
Good review but that car is overpriced, you're paying for the exclusivity, you'd get a better deal by choosing any large German sedan (A8, S-Class or 7-Series).
