    I absolutely LOVED your review. You were very detailed oriented and took your time showing every aspect of the car and its functions whereas most other car reviews on CZcams the reviewer speeds through it and that isn't a good review. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    I think your reviews are now the best around- honestly! You take your time to guide the viewer through all the pros and cons of a car and then allow me to make up my own mind. I appreciate that kind of objectivity. Most reviewers stay subjective and either drool about a car- or take it apart completely. Keep up the good work!

    Excellent review - detailed but not boring, objective and with the pro/cons highlighted. Too many people think every RR is great but the reality is not the case. Great cars for driving in a straight line but going round corners is like a driving a boat. Very old school. This car is more for Middle Eastern oil guys with more money than sense!

    Drove it as but only as passenger though with one of my clients. It is absolutely fantastic, going over speed bumps is an experience, it just swims over, highway cruising is so majestic with the long front and the spirit of ectasy reaching out like a "mile ahead of you". With the starlight roof trim and those massively thick carpets, being in this car is just such an occasion. This car and RR in general are in class of their own and it is pointless when people start to make any comparrisons. Do not compare to any Bentlys (drove them), high end Merc's (drove the new s class), Range Rover (also drove the new one) - RR just delivers completely different experience, forget sportiness or anything else that other cars do. This would be the same as going to classical opera and then complaining that the music didnt have enough drums and base. Enjoy whoever can afford it !!

    Good review Thomas. Was there a problem with the sound or is the Wraith so big you thought you were in a cathederal and spoke quietly? As this is a car for drivng, the biggest question for UK drivers' is where to park it. Our supermarket and car park spaces are so narrow and short I have problems parking my 5 series at times. As to your question: no, I would not buy a Rolls. If money were no object, but I could only have one car, I bleive I would choose a Porsche Panamera 4S Turismo. But I do like the Range Rover Velar.

    Another great review Thomas. Really like the interior of the the Wraith over that of the Bentley's it's a little more classic and although I didn't like the exterior of the new Rolls at first, after your review I think they made the right choice keeping to the more classic lines of bygone RR's as opposed to Bentley's more modern take on a similar heritage. The interior of the demonstration car was beautiful. Had my heart set on a Silver Spur but the Wraith is worth a second look. Cheers.

      Autogefühl, you haven't replied.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  Před 7 lety +3

      Please consider following information considering the use of leather.
      At Autogefühl, we have already received several thousands (!) comments, messages and mails that more and more people want to combine enjoying their car with reducing the environmental impact at the same time. We strongly believe that sustainable luxury is possible or at least we should do everything to support that. Those many thousand people confirming this trend, motivate us to give you the most authentic information and background on the product parts. It is not about what you bought in the past, but what you decide in the future and what you decide and influence as a customer. So we want you to have all information that you need for a decision you later enjoy and like best yourself.
      Check out our special video addressing car CEOs as a first summary and also see conditions of animal skin production:
      czcams.com/video/LNSUzZXzpdc/video.html
      List of practical reasons against animal skin seats:
      1. animal skin seats are often an expensive option, by going for base trim level seats you can save a lot of money and get a better price-performance-deal (often the manufacturers claim that animal leather is top of luxury because they can earn the best money with it)
      2. animal skin seats get hot in summer and you stick to the seat
      3. they are cold in winter
      4. on cloth or microfibre surfaces, you basically don’t need seat heating nor cooling
      5. animal skin seats wear out very fast and look like granny’s old sofa
      6. if you want leather look (because visually it sure can look very nice!) or need seats that can be wiped clean easier, the leatherette (faux leather) surfaces are meanwhile highly evolved and it is possible that it feels even softer and better than anything else (See our Tesla Model X review czcams.com/video/y2wNGFKa4M0/video.html) So Tesla shows that the discussion, whether you need animal skin is basically done.
      7. More manufacturer names for their good alternatives: Mercedes MBTex/Artico for leatherette, Dinamica for microfibre. BMW Sensatec, Toyota Sof-Tex, Lexus Nu-Luxe (all faux leather)
      To the environmental reasons:
      1. The way the cows are held are catastrophic (see videos below)
      2. The factory farming industry can be accounted for 50 % of climate emissions and thus is the number one reason for climate change and environmental destruction. It is the number one reason for deforestation, two thirds of all agricultural land on earth is used for animal food crops. If you would feed humans directly by using the land, you could produce much more food for everyone. See this interesting essay for more on climate emissions background: www.worldwatch.org/files/pdf/Livestock%20and%20Climate%20Change.pdf
      3. So it is not only cows that are suffering, but also the environment and to a big part also humans. Think of slavery-like working conditions in slaughterhouses (there are plenty of documentaries about this) or think of chemically altered drinking water in animal skin production villages as also seen in the video footage.
      4. The discussion, for which body part the cow is killed first, is very patronizing. But if you really think it would be important why someone gets killed: There are many productions where the cow is killed for the skin first, sometimes even while still being (part-)alive, the skin is the most profitable single part of the body.
      5. So even if a cow gets theoretically killed for meat first, you give additional money to an industry that relies on killing, pollutes the environment and harms people with chemicals. Let's say you are standing at the meat counter. And you ask for the leg of the cow. The butcher tells you: "You can eat that without worrying, the cow was slaughtered for the neck first". The next customer demands the neck. The butcher tells him: "It's not your fault, the cow was slaughtered for the belly". A the next customer demands the hide, what answer does he get? You see, that argument of "byproduct" comes from the meat and leather industry to cover up that you contribute to killing no matter which part of the body you buy.
      6. To the often said argument, animal skin would just be a byproduct, please google/youtube "leather is not a byproduct" you will find plenty of information. A good overview on all those issues can also be found here: adaptt.org/
      More special video episodes:
      1. A initial special video from Autogefühl considering the use of leather can be found here: czcams.com/video/8f91KgbVbJQ/video.html
      2. And another one right here: czcams.com/video/tMNgcLE0LDU/video.html
      3. Furthermore, you’ll find the footage of leather production also here, where people are walking in chemicals etc. and animals have to watch their friends being slaughtered in front of their eyes: czcams.com/video/JipYvuDsI6s/video.html
      timecode starting 27:46
      4. This is another video which very well summarizes the torture of leather production, shots taken at big farms which directly produce for the automotive industry: czcams.com/video/OgHs239bAnE/video.html
      5. Please note that those videos are made by well-known journalists and cameramen who were not influenced by any animal welfare organisation, they supply their footage to the animal rights groups of course. I partly know the creators of the video footage personally and they are all authentic. You don’t have to search long to find cruel production environments anyway.
      Manufacturers reactions:
      We started the very first inquiry years ago, with the result that car manufacturers do not reveal their sources of animal skin AT ALL. If it all would be clean and happening without harm, why don’t they show it to us whereas they are showing us every other detail of their products? They have good reason not to, because there is no such thing as a clean animal skin production without harming cows, humans and the environment. The only thing a manufacturer can do is increase their effort for a better future, and we are helping with in-depth talks and interviews by presenting the increasing customer demand for sustainable luxury.
      So meanwhile, we more often also get feedback that a lot of manufacturers are working on leather-free interiors and are aware of the situation. However, much has to be done still and the Autogefuehl community is massively helping in boosting the positive change!
      Help to raise awareness on this subject. Thanks!

    I never liked that broken lines design personally.
    Do you see many Rolls' in Deutschland?

    Wow, how did you pull this off? -Getting one of these to review..? Seems they are just throwing high class automobiles at you. One of these pulled up beside our "Uber" ride in Miami a few months ago--Very Nice.

    • @DeanBrandon
      @DeanBrandon Před 8 lety

      +DeanBrandon Oh, to the car--I have a big complaint against companies such as Mercedes. Technology should be under the hood (safety systems, etc). Other than a navigation system, the interior, what the driver sees and touches, should be wood, leather, brushed metal. The controls should be more analog, not iPads. For comparison, high class watches? They are mechanical, analog wonders--high class--not a digital 1984 technological mess. Ok off the soap box:
      +++ ride, interior, controls, style, class.
      --- Handling, driver input, visibility, sportiness.

    Thomas does his usual very professional review, always fair and objective,but i must put him straight about his ' Mary Poppins ' moment with regard to London rain.Thomas in the last 100yrs London has experienced slightly less annual rainfall than Paris,something that seems to have escaped the notice of most of you on the mainland.Regards from Blighty.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  Před 7 lety

      ye I think the truth was that London has less volume of rainfall but is it more spread so people have the impression it would be worse

      Yes most interesting and informative.I love rain,it adds so much character to a country and is so romantic,although at my age that is,sadly,now the least of considerations,it's the cold that i detest.

    True to it's form. A car with the essence of luxury at every key point. No other car matches that. The 20" alloys are the best solution, as the 19" and 21" have less non-summer tires to choose from.
    While I appreciate how much effort went into this car, Bentley (in my mind) is the better choice (if I had the money to buy one). While borrowing from VW Group, the Bentley is fully assembled in Britain. You can get similar upgrades to the Rolls, but pay less. And as I've always been told, "You buy a Bentley to drive and a Rolls to be driven in."

    Thomas, I found that Wraith's unladen EU weight is 2435kg, while the now previous-fen F01 BMW 760Li, on which it's based, is only 2035kg. They are about the same size - where do you think those extra 400 kilos went in the Rolls?
    Anyway, with the new 7-series out, the 750 has same 4,5 0-100, yet it weighs a whopping 600kg less... And now Wraith seems plain inferior.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  Před 8 lety

      +ycnexu Very good question. 760? I just know of a 750Li. First of all, V8 vs V12. Then, for the chassis they used carbon fibre which saves some 130 kg or smth. Those should be the main aspects
